I am 78, BP2 and only take buproprion and its been working for a long time. But it took me some time to learn to really focus on managing my mental health. Once you get it all can go far better than you ever imagined. I don't ever have have bouts of serious depression these days. But I also think that BP gets better with age. I admire your courage for being so open and sharing.

I want to thank you for posting your video. I have been dealing mental disorders for over 40 years. I have seen multiple psychiatrists and therapists who have always diagnosed me with severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, and PTSD. I have been prescribed so many different anti-depressant medications. I've signed myself into Psychiatric Hospitals 4 times for suicidal thoughts. I recently found a therapist about 3 years ago who I can say is the best therapist I've ever had. She is the first and only one who diagnosed me with Bipolar. One may think this would upset me, however, I was relieved after researching what Bipolarism is all about. It truly describes what I've been truly dealing with all these years. The fact that it took so many years for someone to take the time and effort to understand what I actually have, was a Blessing. She also referred me to a new Psychiatrist. It's still a up hill battle but I now feel I am finally on my way to learn how to deal with my mental illness. To all that may take the time and read my post, never give up.

My quack psychiatrist diagnost me as Bipolar II because all hell broke loose after I stopped Zoloft cold turkey. She said it 'unmasked' the depression as bipolar. When I see the commercials for Caplyta, I just change the channel. I am a pilot, flying is the one thing I enjoy, and I would be disqualified if I took antipsychotics. or mood stabs. Psychiatry is a baby boom 1950s profession.

Some serious ones included memory loss (within 20 seconds) it was actually terrifying, I had hallucinations and saw people that weren't there in lights (I'm not schiz) tremors, weak, etc. Everyone in the book it was terrible. anone who is being diagnosed adhd in adulthood is either from a home with parents who didn't care to notice their child behavior as concerning or ignored their child all together.... Or is a young adult trying to score speed to stay skinny and get shit done. It baffles me how parents coulf be blind to ADHD.... It's distraction and loud and creates stress in the family. School age is when it is the most noticeabl; though their progress in school, feedback from teachers, ability to focus, complete chores, and finally ability to communicate calmly with their parents, peers, and friends, focus on school projects, athletics, activities, ability to keep their space acceptably in order and not lose their things all the time. Crappy parents are the reason that their child never never got medical attention for this because it is at its height during school age years. Maybe they are too scared to face that their child is a spaz??? Idk But what I do know is the sudden spike in diagnosis in adults or anyone over the age of 15 is either girls wanting amphetamines so they can keep slim and skinny, and college kids jonesing for speed..
No shame boo. I was diagnosed adhd at 7,but the meds gave me digestion issues so around 4th grade we stopped ...... Then came college and my 20's and I was determined to be on adderall ritalin stackers the whole shabang! (enter the eating disorder era )... Well that's the WORST thing to do if you have BP (besides not prioritize sleep)
My point is if you got this far managing your life acceptably then stop shopping for a diagnosis thats #trending and own your lack of self discipline and laziness... That is what is most likely happening. Or maybe you really did have shitty parents? Who knows @@camellia8625

Thanks for sharing. I was diagnosed with Bipolar 2 in 2007 and have been on the medication merry-go-round for years. Ive been on just about everything I think. Currently on Lamotrigine but dont like it that much although at first it was good. Trying to stop it as the reading ive done about side effects isnt to good. Never had Lithium and dont think I want to as regular blood tests are required. Not actually sure what Im going to try next to be honest. Im glad things are going well for you. Have you ever had eating issues with the medications or Libido issues if you dont mind me asking? As some meds can effect both those areas which also isnt good either. Thanks and tke care❤

I feel your pain. Been there. Do the carnivore diet. Seriously. Try it for 30 days. Your mind will be blown. I’m on carnivore diet and zero medications. I don’t need them but you have to stick with it. It takes a lot of discipline but once you start feeling super good, you won’t want to quit. Good luck! Just trying to spread the awareness. NO PSYCH DR will ever tell you about this. Drs are not even taught hardly nothing with nutrition. Only drugs drugs drugs! Why?? Because drugs and big pharma is a CASH COW! It’s SAD!

I have bipolar 1, ADD, and Generalized anxiey disorder..I didn't know people made videos like this so thankyou! Every since I was a kid I was having anxiety attacks, emotional rollercoaster, depressed, manic, hyper, shy, and angry. I finally told my parents I need to see a therapist when I was 15! I am glad. I am 27 now and work full time, and i college.
Currently I have been taking more than normal amount of drugs. Normally I ONLY take lamotrigine but I just was suicideal, spent 1200 on fillers (a non-surgical rhinoplasty) and dyed some of my hair purple and have been super angry lately. So now and the last 2 months I take every morning all at once: 200 mg lamotrigine, 2mg lorazepam, 100 mg Seroquel. And 300mg Gapapentin twice a day as needed for anxiety. I also utilize marijuana

october I cut 40% of my lithium and quit everything but occasional sleep meds. In February I made radical change to my life situations by going to Africa. I returned late April, soon realised my mental problem was a family "solution". A role I hadn't even know, consciously.... I was playing. I quit, both my role and the rest of my Lithium three months ago. I still fall, loose hope, get stuck in fear but rarely more than for hours and I get stronger with every time I get back up, every step I take and every boundary I manage to set and uphold against toxic/abusive behaviours wherever it comes from.
No depression except the first week back home and I have not been even close to hypomania for more than two years. Its taken years but I have finally healed my both my Bipolar and my ADHD and in September I am going back to the mother land. The home that took me 61 years to find 🙏🇰🇪❤️

You should go to a psychiatrist to see what could be causing you to feel like that and find solutions :) it’s good that you are self aware, that will help so much in feeling better
