As a nord then Avs fan he was totally underrated on a stacked Avs team he played tough and often fought out of his weight class to protect his teammates. Great player!
As a Avalanche fan, I was heart broken when Adam got traded away (even though I loved Blake.) Nice to see this video giving one of my favorite "nobodies" the attention that he deserves.
@Joe when Jeff Courtnall played on the blues and had to end his career because he had too many concussions. The man broke down crying because he wanted to try and get a cup with the blues. Felt bad for him
As a novice hockey fan, I have learned that I really dig this blue collar style of hockey player even more than the flashy high goal scorers. I had never heard of Adam Deadmarsh until now, but the second I saw his cool name, I just knew he had to be a grinder. I really admire the players that are willing to do the dirty work to win games. There's no real glory being a grinder, but they seem to relish the job, and I love that! Which is why William Carrier is my favorite Golden Knight.
Fans of every team have those types of players in their favorites. As an Oilers fan I look at Buchburger, Staios, Gadzyk and Smith(Gator) and a few more as well. Guys that put their bodies on the line blocking shots and playing hard mins in the corners, on the PK and infront of the crease.
Adam Deadmarsh. Yeah, I remember him being on the 2nd line the first few years in Colorado. Oh, that 2nd line was him, Joe Sakic and Scott Young. That 95/96 team was just THAT stacked. Worth mentioning: Deadmarsh was one of the reasons Pierre LaCroix traded Owen Nolan to San Jose for Sandis Ozolinsh. LaCroix wanted Ozo’s power play expertise and saw Deadmarsh as a younger version of Owen Nolan.
Grew up in Spokane, playing hockey in trail all my life, all I ever heard was about Adam Deadmarsh. I was always too young to ever understand who he was so thank you for the video.
He played for 15 minutes on the LA Kings and he’s hands down my favorite King of all time. I would genuinely support hanging his number in the rafters. He did it all - scored goals, made great passes and fought. All balls.
Love this video deadmarsh was the player that got me into hockey. Watching that ot game against the wings was it for me I was hooked. I now collect his game worn jerseys! Thank you for the video
I was going through some of my old hockey cards and I saw a name I didn’t recognize: Matthieu Schneider. Turn it over and he played for a LONG time. I was wondering if you could do a career video on Schneider
Deadmarsh was a great player. It is too bad that his career was cut short. Other players you may consider for future videos could be Jason Allison, Walt Poddubny, Mike Allison, Steve Payne, Scott Bjugstad (Nick's uncle who scored over 40 goals one year for the North Stars), J.F, Sauvé, Gaston Gingras, Doug Halward.
Flash backs to the mid Nineties Oilers playoffs, Deadmarsh was one of those players whose name you hated hearing as you knew every shift he was a danger to make something happen.
Deadmarsh seemed to be on the mend from that concussion. Then he had an accidental collision with a teammate during a shooting drill with other injured players on Nov. 11, 2003 and his symptoms returned.
I'd find it comical if they misspelled my name on the Stanley Cup. I'd leave the error intact knowing I'd have more of a toehold on a historic footnote or fun fact in that event. It's probably just me though. One of my things. People have been pronouncing and even spelling my last name incorrectly for longer than I can remember, and it's only five letters long.
Thank you Shannon for picking one of the guys i put on my list in the Ed Beers video. Next one... Tim Connolly, Joffrey Lupul, Clarke MacArthur, Pierre Mondou
I’m a wings fan who was there through the rivalry, and I always liked Adam Deadmarsh - played hard and fair; mad respect for him. I always thought of him as their Shanahan as far as grit and attitude.
I'd say he was more like Darren McCarty. Shanahan had grit, but he was too talented to compare to Deadmarsh, who was great in his own way, but he unfortunately was no Hall of Famer like Shanahan.
One thing I wish NHL would do is have better helmets with more padding and a full cage for the face. Watch the youtube vids of puck to face shots, how fast the puck is going now with the new sticks it seems like the accidental puck to face is becoming more common..
NHL 06 was my first hockey video game and Deadmarsh was always a free agent at the beginning of the season. Never really realized that was because he was technically retired. Everytime I'd start a franchise mode I'd sign him. Dude was a great power forward. Didn't start watching actual NHL on T.V. until the Edm vs Car Cup Final. I feel like I missed out on watching Deadmarsh in his prime... There needs to be an alternate reality where guys like Lindros and Deadmarsh aren't finished so early and have quite long and prosperous careers.
That Deadmarsh-Allison-Palffy (LAPD line) line in LA was freaking deadly, but the problem is is that all three of them couldn't stay healthy
They were studs. Forgot about Allison
Yeah palfy and Allison should get career videos
Probably the best line the Kings have ever had. Too bad it was for only one season.
I think your all forgetting Gretzky, robitaille and whoever else was there
@@realdealdaveabramyk9005 Palffy did
One of my favorite players when he was with the kings
Same.
As a nord then Avs fan he was totally underrated on a stacked Avs team he played tough and often fought out of his weight class to protect his teammates. Great player!
Thanks for doing this! Deadmarsh was always one of my favourite players, very underated
As a Avalanche fan, I was heart broken when Adam got traded away (even though I loved Blake.) Nice to see this video giving one of my favorite "nobodies" the attention that he deserves.
I was so made when the trade happened. I would trade Blake for Deadmarsh now every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Come to think about it concussions basically wrecked careers in the 90s and early 2000s. I’m glad the NHL has been taking them seriously today
The 2005 lockout was the first organized effort to take safety seriously. It sucked, but it made the NHL a much better league.
@Joe when Jeff Courtnall played on the blues and had to end his career because he had too many concussions. The man broke down crying because he wanted to try and get a cup with the blues. Felt bad for him
Concussions can mess with emotional regulation. My second worse concussion left me crying one minute and snapping the next.
Watched him play for the Portland Winterhawks when I was little in the early 90's!
Adam Deadmarsh was one of my favorite players back in the day. Thank you for making this video.
I’ll never forget his fight against Jovo. big smile then lights out

One of my favorite Avs. Mixed emotions when he was traded but it got the Avs Rob Blake and a cup.
I would love to see a career video of Dan Hinote
I was thrilled when the Avs traded for Blake but bummed that Deadmarsh was part of the deal.
Totally agree
Agreed you need role players like deadmarsh to win championships.
You should do Ian Laperrier. The ultimate team guy.
Growing up watching the avs Deadmarsh was always one of my favorites.. seemed like he was always in the mix
I was sitting directly in line with him when Jovocop precipitated the end of his career. What a game!
Adam Deadmarsh. Yeah, I remember him being on the 2nd line the first few years in Colorado. Oh, that 2nd line was him, Joe Sakic and Scott Young. That 95/96 team was just THAT stacked.

Love watching him with the Kings. Every time I went to a game he had a point
Grew up in Spokane, playing hockey in trail all my life, all I ever heard was about Adam Deadmarsh. I was always too young to ever understand who he was so thank you for the video.
Thanks for shining a light on these unfortunately shortened careers Shannon; interesting footnotes that should be remembered
He played for 15 minutes on the LA Kings and he’s hands down my favorite King of all time. I would genuinely support hanging his number in the rafters. He did it all - scored goals, made great passes and fought. All balls.
Lugano Olympics? LUL 1998 Olympics were in Nagano. :)
Thank you for covering the career of one of my favorite players of all time!
Love this video deadmarsh was the player that got me into hockey. Watching that ot game against the wings was it for me I was hooked. I now collect his game worn jerseys! Thank you for the video
Used to trade for this guy in every old edition of EA's NHL, even though I'm a Wings fan. Dude's an absolute gem.
I was going through some of my old hockey cards and I saw a name I didn’t recognize: Matthieu Schneider. Turn it over and he played for a LONG time. I was wondering if you could do a career video on Schneider
He was a badass player, one of my favorites when I was a kid routing for the kings
Lugano is in Switzerland.
Nagano is in Japan and that is where the Winter Olympics took place.
Always loved deadmarsh as a kid, was never really sure why. He always seemed to make things happen around him
Wish we still had hockey trades the Blake deadmarsh trade is a great example of one.
My all time favorite Grinder/Enforcer type.
He showed what a great team player he was as him and Brent Severyn took on the red wings in the bloody wednesday game. good solid player
that 2001 series vs the avs was a hell of a battle.
Yaayy, From our neighbor city Trail, BC! Couple of good players from the Kootenays. Shawn Horcoff came from our little city.
"Deadmarch" LOL, oh remember when the Bqstqn Bruins won the cup? Great team, then they moved from Bqstqn to Boston.
How do they get that wrong?! Whoever did that needs to be fired.
Have you ever been on vacation to Bqstqn? It's a very nice place.
At 0:44 Shadow shows up late for work again

Deadmarsh was outstanding, and very underrated. I'd describe him more as a David Backes than a Jonathan Toews, personally
He was a damn good player for sure. Kinda an Andrew Shaw with a bit more offense. Concussions also derailed both guys too soon.
Similar to Lafontaine
As a Wings fan, I didn’t like him, but have to respect him.
Was so happy when the Kings got Deader, he was a total beast and had no fear.
He had bad injury luck with the Kings. A few seasons ended sooner than they should have because he wasn't in the lineup in my opinion (as a Ducks fan)
5:51 We Kings fans refer to that as the "Frenzy on Figueroa"
Thank you Shannon for picking one of the guys i put on my list in the Ed Beers video.
Next one... Tim Connolly, Joffrey Lupul, Clarke MacArthur, Pierre Mondou
you hit the nail on the head on this one guy...
Adam Deadmarsh was a monster, one of my brothers favorite players......his favorite player was Joe Sakic
In 01-02 Deadmarsh Allison Palffy was perhaps the best line in the nhl. Also, in 02-03, Deadmarsh lead the league in goals per game.
I always wanted him with the Leafs so badly. Loved the way he played. Unfortunately, his style of game got the better of him
I only know of this guy cus i saw him in basically every Forsberg highlight
I just came here to make sure you mentioned the pickle pucks.
I’m a wings fan who was there through the rivalry, and I always liked Adam Deadmarsh - played hard and fair; mad respect for him. I always thought of him as their Shanahan as far as grit and attitude.

This is why you are THE Hockey guy. Deadmarsh was a stud.
Was a huge Deadmarsh fan.

I like these so much. Pat Peake video soon?
Deadmarsh was a stud free agent signing in chel '04
I’d literally kill for a deadmarsh la kings “coat of arms” shield shaped crest jersey.
Deadmarsh was a poor man Forsberg which is pretty deadly.great video.
Coolest last name ever
The Avs have had a lot of awesome last names for awesome players:
Ozolinš
Sakic
Forsberg
Drury
Hejduk
Bourque
Great video 👍
Uuuuh I remember that name from my first NHL game :D
Can you please do career of Vincent Damphousse
It’s about time. Can u do Darren McCarty next please
I'd buy that for a dollar.
Patrice Bergeron to me reminds me of a hybrid of Peter Forsberg and Adam Deadmarsh.
Why didn't you use a Nordique magnet for the first year?
He just owned my Canucks. Like no player other than 99
You should do Petr Sykora.
Dead marsh was solid. Played hockey the right way.
Do a video about Jared Aulin. Gabe Vilardi was headed down that alley.
poor mans jonothan toews
If not for injury's the trade to LA could have big for the Kings, Deadmarsh was awesome for LA and Aaron Miller was a solid but couldn't stay healthy
As a Wings fan, I respected him.
Pat LaFontaine story is an interesting one as well.
Ed Jovanovski sends his regards
I love that guy.
The guy got pickles named after him lol 😂
NHL 06 was my first hockey video game and Deadmarsh was always a free agent at the beginning of the season. Never really realized that was because he was technically retired. Everytime I'd start a franchise mode I'd sign him. Dude was a great power forward.

I always thought Deadmarsh would be hall of fame bound until he got hurt.
Do one of these on Anson Carter
I loved adam deadmarsh I think the Shane Corson fight hurt him I thought good video Shannon I forgot how Blake got traded GKG 👍😎
Do one on Ziggy palffy please!
Well, I'm here
Bryan Fogarty could be an interesting (though tragic) one at the right time. Now probably isn't that time though.
His brother Jake played pro as well in the minors
My cousin played with him
I loved Deadmarsh. Pure Right wing fury.
He was a NORD!!!
Lol exactly what I wanted
Bqstqn Bruins
God this is a lame channel without hockey.
