actually the result is great on your end and I would really love to do this as well but I am having a hard time to keep up since I am a beginner and seeing it is not enough for me to get it.. so I am quite confused on what you did on some steps like how the bars suddenly become pointed... I guess it would be better if you find a way on how to make the steps more easy to follow specially for beginners.. some of the keys are also not being displayed as you press it.

To make the pointy ends: Make sure you have Individual Origins selected, press S and scale in a bit, then press 0 (zero).
1:54 to flatten: with Individual Origins selected, press S + Z and 0 (zero).
