Clever premise which works for me. There's a bit of The Twilight Zone episode, The After Hours, when Noelle first encounters her guardian angel, Charlie, in the deserted Fulton's Department Store; the seemingly thriving department store in the age of Amazon is something nearly miraculous in and of itself.
