1985 Baby here. We had 3 regular tv Channels back then. And they were Everything!! I miss the Saturday & Sunday evening movies. Vhs tape night. man good times
Pacific Bell , John Nesbit you were so right, from caller ID and phones with pagers to smartphones and tablets and phone integration in cars we have all taken it for granted !
Indeed. It's easy to look back through rose colored lenses and admire how "simple" things were! Also no 24 hour "media" in your face, could be home and be disconnected
ya they were the good ole days I remember the darkness , absolute silence couldn't even hear the beating of my non existing heart with my non existing ears jk. its fun watching what tv ads were like before i was born (90s ads js what i remember)
Oh how I love Moonlighting I have it on DVD all the seasons I 6 years old when it 1st came out and as a kid you don't remember much but I do remember that show.
700 80's videos and I still need to catch up on a few. Star Tunnel into KAAAHHHHHNNNNN! Brilliant! Other highlights: Dub-Gay Sprite Wonder New Trail what the heck did I just watch! SHARP! 8.5% in 85! On Hotel, Peter faces an accusation of rape. OOF! Robert Brennan of FJS was later accused of money laundering and was sentenced to federal prison. And I made it through 102 commercials! Bravo 80sCommercialVault!
A friend of mine had one of those Toyota mini vans. A couple of years later, she was in a horrible accident. Being mid-engine, there was no protection in the front.
1. When my car breaks down. I will make sure to call you sweetheart for a lift ! I get no respect !! 9. Well duh!! it is tennis!! 13. DRAGOOOO!! umm..sorry wrong movie 14. umm...riiiiight 20. A 20oz coffee geez !! 31.Hey! That was more than one wish !! 40. Such a simple samitch but was damn good!! 54. Hands off from my hieny!! 62. When she walks in a room. Mice jumps on chairs!! Happy 700! 4:56 Dickie Goodman has taken over. 7:36 Supposedly, “Three’s A Crowd” was canceled in favor of allowing “Diff’rent Strokes” to be moved from NBC. Was it worth it? Really? 16:40 So he’s romancing half a fish, while eating a whole fish. He’s got problems. 18:40 If they hadn’t messed up by putting them in bed together, they would have hit 100 episodes and had better opportunities for syndication. 24:04 As I recall, I think what would have worked better is if Don Rickles insulted Steve Lawrence for a half an hour instead of them presenting a carbon copy of “TV’s Bloopers and Practical Jokes”. 31:58 I just saw the guy on the right in a rerun of “Match Game ‘7X”. Ron... something or other... 36:43 Sheesh, “Beef: It’s What’s For Dinner” should win a Clio compared to this garbage.
That thumbnail though XD Sprite-i guess they were "proto-Vulcans"..? 4:40-loved how it went to a commercial break..i bet Nicholas Meyer was trying to keep from laughing during Shatner's famous shout Hardcastle & McCormick-the latter sure took his sweet time jumping over to the bench.. A Bunny's Tale-"I DON'T LIKE YOU THIS WAY!!!" .jealous much? AM/PM-20 oz coffee..be prepared to have a sleepless night The Sure Thing-9:50..she was also prone to domestic violence. Rodney Dangerfield Exposed-sounds like something that cant be un-seen MacGruder & Loud-Since he had a pistol hopefully he was lining up a headshot on the M16 wielding guy Beef Council-Chicken gives strength as well..
Anyone know what movie that was at 4:38??? The Kid holding the New Trail box at 5:51 is a famous actor now. I cant remember his name tho omg this will drive me crazy now!!!
So, just curious...I know it would take a lot of effort that you might not feel like doing, but have you ever considered doing a video of the best and worst commercials you have posted? Obviously, it would be a humongous task, but didn't know if you ever considered it.
@@80sCommercialVault your commercial selections are a perfect good/bad mix and enjoyable as is that I really wouldn't see a reason for that anyway. Thank you for this channel.
59 - ....I think that was more an ad for Tappan's self-cleaning gas ranges - which just happened to be sponsored by the American Gas Association. (I hate cross-promos at times... 9.9)
10% interest rate on a money market, my God. When I was last in banking 8 years ago, money market, CD, and IRA rates were 1/10 of that, even for five years.
What a shame that UA-cam forces us to watch lame 2020 commercials when we want 1980's ones!! lol If I could go back to the '80, I'd buy a bunch of stocks for pennies on the dollar which now are worth millions or billions. Wishful thinking....
I wasn't even alive in the 80s, I simply love the history packed in these ads
I’ve died and gone to 80s Heaven! Thank you for the extra-long volume 😀
This is the closest I'll get to a time machine... I remember these!
@@Emmet72I am always telling people that.

I love that nearly all of the people posting clip reels know what not to cut.
Happy 700th volume of 1980s commercials. Looking forward to many more.

I'm still going strong on being a fan...I'm still patiently waiting for more 70's and 80s commercials. 😍 Happy 700th commercial.
15:19 Dude correctly predicts the internet and its world-changing implications back in 1985!
That's Vint Cerf the father of the internet in the 60s. He knew the future of tech because he paved that road.

Only fitting that it be the Thumbnail for this vid! :D
I cannot believe that is Bruce Willis at 18:40 in Moonlighting. Wow. Just wow. I forgot how he looked with hair. Cute young guy.
Bruce Willis was born in my home town in Germany as a son of a GI. 🙂😎
I remember the Nissan, Toyota, and ampm mini market commercials. And I can’t forget the TWA commercials.
Congrats for making it to 700 videos 80sCommercialVault. Here's to 700 more videos of glorious commercials out of the 80's.
Congratulations on the 700th compilation from the 1980s and looking forward to Monday's newscast upload
Khan!!! 😂😂 congratulations and thanks for all the great content. These commercials are therapy for me. 🙏😊
Cool video....esp interesting was the news cast on the corruption in Mexico...."the more things change the more they stay the same"
Corruption of one form or another has been a problem there for over a hundred years. It's not a recent thing.
@@80sCommercialVault but corruption in Mexico, throughout all that _has_ changed, seems to be a prominent and unfortunate constant
I remember watching Star Trek II when ABC aired it. It was our family copy of the movie until 1987.
