"BY SIX THOUSANDTHS OF A SECOND!" That was amazing commentary. Non-stop passion, all out emotion, while explaining the moves they both made on that final lap. And the simultaneity of that final statement is the icing on the cake on one of the best battles of motorsport.
Don't know how many times I have watched this but I know I get covered in goosebumps and well up every time. Greatest piece of racing I have ever seen.
I was stoned out my mind one night watching the highlights of this and it was honestly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I'm now not as stoned and it's still one of the best things I've ever seen
I never tire of watching that last lap, it also makes me chuckle how both Jack and Jamie can't speak properly and then at the end Jamie tries about 8 times to speak over Jack.
Remember watching this live. Was really pulling for Hopper, who overcame his personal demons with alcohol and pills. If he won he would've been one of the biggest turn arounds ever. Sad to see Hopper in 14'-15' unable to even secure a team ride.
I've seen a lot of racing.... and this is quite possibly the best i've ever had the nail biting pleasure to watch! I swear to God i fell off the sofa twice watching this! ;)
I just saw the final laps of this race on British ES2 Best of Bikes: Hill vs. Hopper 2011. I never saw it before and got goosebumps. Amazing close racing, amazing atmosphere and great commentators! We went to lots of races: MotoGP, WSBK and in 2014, 2015 and 2016 to BSB races on Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park and Snetterton. Nothing is comparible with BSB. Great circuits, the hero's are approachable and the races are great. Just go out to watch a race live, you will not regret it!
Been a while since ive seen this, good memories, i was there that day. The commentators sure makes this intense, struggling to get their words out, you just know they're on the edge of their seats.
I remember watching that race live... it was the longest I’ve ever held my breath!!..... those last few laps for me was the definition of super bike racing. No margin for error, absolute 100% limit. 2 wheels perfection.
John Hopkins does 4 hours on “chasin the Racin” podcast and gives an amazing perspective and a lot of information about this race. Mainly he performed at that level of competition with a completely jacked up wrist. Big fan of bsb and the stories of all the fine racers. Thank you for the video ❤
Best race down the stretch I've seen in all my life as well and ive haven't near by seen as much racing as these 2 announcers. Gzzzzz, i was in my seat here at my home.
I read this a couple years back and never could find the vid for it until now and holy cow, it was a absolutely fantastic finish.....I wish that we got to see some of the BSB in the USA
Yh thats a real shame that because lets face it, at the moment BSB has to be the most exciting bike racing series out there. I would like to record the live races and upload them for people in the US and such but I dont know how to do that lol, but yeah glad you enjoyed the video.
For sheer context of what's at stake, this is the best I've seen. As far as the best race is concerned, that's World Superbikes Hockenheim in the year 2000 [Race 2].
I didn't know there is another one who shares this vid(I did long time ago). This is, as a whole package, the best finish in whole motorcycle racing history.
Missed this race due to having to get my car removed from Brands Hatch car park by a recovery vehicle after my then partner had mistakenly thrown away the keys!! Tonight was the first time I've been able to bring myself to watch it.
MotoGP has the kind of commentators who increase their mouth movement during epic on board footage. 🤦🏻♂️ The BT sport guys go well. Lots of passion in that booth. Heuwen, Emmett, Hodgeson, Laverty, Edwards.. and while not that well spoken, Crafar has such passion, and is a brilliant pit liaison.
I remember Hopkins and that Suzuki racing in Brno as a wild card in SBK. Obtained pole position, but ended 5th in both races. And that Suzuki livrery went stuck in my head for years...

"BY SIX THOUSANDTHS OF A SECOND!"
That was amazing commentary. Non-stop passion, all out emotion, while explaining the moves they both made on that final lap. And the simultaneity of that final statement is the icing on the cake on one of the best battles of motorsport.
I come back and watch this every couple months
You are not alone bro..
Same here bro
Same here, what an epic drive and amazing commentary. Nobody can fake those voice cracks
me too
What an amazing into the race that was super thank about their heart beats man they must’ve been up there in 180 beats a minute !
Having just watched the end of the 2024 BSB season I had to show my son this video 😊
f1 fans: " OMG Hamilton-Massa was the closest title decider ever!"
BSB: "Hold my beer."
😜
Facts
Nine years later, and those two laps remain timeless
Three years on - I still pull this up every now and again. Just about have the commentary memorized at this point. One the best races endings EVER
Don't know how many times I have watched this but I know I get covered in goosebumps and well up every time. Greatest piece of racing I have ever seen.
I was stoned out my mind one night watching the highlights of this and it was honestly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I'm now not as stoned and it's still one of the best things I've ever seen
one of the best lines ever. "I'll tell you what. This is bloke's racing this."
2 of the best commentators of all time
@@clairofan01 That's what you get from blokes from West Yorkshire, proud to live here.
Fair play to him for keeping it clean for family viewing when he probably really wanted to say ‘whoever has the biggest bollocks wins this!’
I never tire of watching that last lap, it also makes me chuckle how both Jack and Jamie can't speak properly and then at the end Jamie tries about 8 times to speak over Jack.
I'm a nascar fan but that was the greatest racing I've ever seen
do you know about motogp ?
+Jack Johnson You know this is how a typical Ulster GP finish looks like. :)
you should watch rossi vs stoner laguna seca too. :)
You need to watch the 2014 Clipsal 500 Race 2.
Cars and bikes cant even be compared.. Cars win in the pits, bikes win on the track.
What a race. Remember watching this live. I'll remember this for the rest of my life.
i was there, i was 8 years old. This was right before i went into foster care, was a brilliant memory to take through !
I dont know how many times I've seen this but it's still the best last lap of any race ever.
Gret commentary too
Remember watching this live. Was really pulling for Hopper, who overcame his personal demons with alcohol and pills. If he won he would've been one of the biggest turn arounds ever. Sad to see Hopper in 14'-15' unable to even secure a team ride.
+Epillon Agreed, one of the most naturally talented riders out there
+Epillon I was on South Bank during this race. THE best BSB race EVER!!!!!!!!!
+Epillon I was on South Bank during this race. THE best BSB race EVER!!!!!!!!!
couldn't agree with this statement more
I was there on the day, all these years later....... Still gets me on my feet... Stunning racing lads, there were no loosers in my books!
I was over on the south bank, gives me goosebumps thinking about it and watching that last lap.
I come back to watch this every time I need a bit of excitement - it’s amazing
Still the best BSB race I have ever seen and Jack and James made it even better with their commentary. This is why I think BSB is the best class.
And amazing tracks. Oulton, cadwell, brands hatch, donington...amazing
WOOOOW those guys are pushing those bikes to the limit. This is what i call real racing.
2023 was good but nothing beats this
I've seen a lot of racing.... and this is quite possibly the best i've ever had the nail biting pleasure to watch! I swear to God i fell off the sofa twice watching this! ;)
Sick battle!! The commentators excitement is hilarious! 4:08
When he looses his voice 💪😂😂
Wow! Doesn’t get better than that. Never heard James and Jack get so excited but rightly so that was incredible.
That was a level of commitment worthy of legend from both rider. Yet others were so close behind. In a word, Inspirational...
First time watching this and made my eyes tear up. Amazing passion and racing

I wish more people knew about how incredible this was and is
one of the greatest single laps in racing history 🤘
I watch this every now and then and it always gives me goosebumps. Reminds me of past races I've been in
Nice to see, 100% sportsmanship at the end, teams congratulating the opposant team👍!
JACK BURNACLE IS A LEGEND,
Best commentator of a times, no doubt!
Here after the title battle between Tommy Bridewell and Kyle Ryde.
This race is a great bit of fun to see ! Exciting.
Whoow, completly forgot about this stunning finale, thnx for uploading!!
Been a while since ive seen this, good memories, i was there that day. The commentators sure makes this intense, struggling to get their words out, you just know they're on the edge of their seats.
This was a good Race from start to finish, I started on the Settee & finished on the Floor screaming at the Telly 👍
was at work trying to stay in my seat while watching this, great stuff.
BSB at its finest and it still is the best domestic series in the world.
I remember watching that race live... it was the longest I’ve ever held my breath!!..... those last few laps for me was the definition of super bike racing.
No margin for error, absolute 100% limit.
2 wheels perfection.

The greatest last lap I’ve ever seen in racing , the commentating between jack and whit makes it even better 🤣🤣
This commentary brought tears to my eyes
BSB circuits are spectacular, and this was racing at its finest!
How can this have dislikes. This is what its all about. Absolute Quality.
I've watched the entire race several times, but these last laps are bike racing at its best ... great stuff on a great track
Best BSB championship decider ever.
Best race I've ever seen.... Amazing race gutted for Hopkins and Crescent Suzuki really wanted them to win.
Epic battle, dont know why but really wanted to see hopkins win, even the commentators were losing their voices, incredible riding!!!
Absolutely pushing those bikes to the limit. Wow what racing
Here after chasing the racing podcast 😁 what a last couple of laps!
Even though I have watched this race multiple time it still makes me tear up.
I read this a couple years back and never could find the vid for it until now and holy cow, it was a absolutely fantastic finish.....I wish that we got to see some of the BSB in the USA

The best last lap ever in any form of Racing, watched it live too
Back to watch again - brilliant.
Got here by your recommendation from the seeley and Kennedy race. Wicked battle, thanks mate
This is why i love motorbikes. the commitment and fight is second to none !!
3:14 feminist be like whaaaaaaat!
😂😂
They are turnips. Who cares what those morons think.
and there are still silly people worship footballers rolling on the grass when they have had their hair ruffled. BSB the best in the world
What a battle! Respect to for guys behind them not to mess with them on last lap
If this doesn't make you giggle with joy then you're not human.
Sheesh man. Watching it years later and my hearts racing. Imagine how they were in the crowd and the riders. Good God all mighty
The absolute best race in motorcycle racing history
One of the very best laps in motorsport....along with Rossi V Gibernau
Holy Crap! Now that is a race!
Glad you enjoyed it :D
For sheer context of what's at stake, this is the best I've seen. As far as the best race is concerned, that's World Superbikes Hockenheim in the year 2000 [Race 2].

Missed this race due to having to get my car removed from Brands Hatch car park by a recovery vehicle after my then partner had mistakenly thrown away the keys!! Tonight was the first time I've been able to bring myself to watch it.
23 Dislikes are F1 Fans.
John Fothergill
“You can’t pass on the track, save that stuff for the pits”
Who’s here after 2024 epic bridewell ride clash?
kyle deffo deserved the title, but glenn played his part in the last race, then tried to high 5 tommy after! I dont think so!
@@stevec-b6214 and he got the finger 😅
It was a great race to watch in person. :)
Love the main commentator! Can someone get him to commentate MotoGP races?
+tekniqs MotoGP Need this kind of commentators, sure!!!
Jamie Whitham and Jack Burnicle
MotoGP has the kind of commentators who increase their mouth movement during epic on board footage. 🤦🏻♂️
The BT sport guys go well. Lots of passion in that booth. Heuwen, Emmett, Hodgeson, Laverty, Edwards.. and while not that well spoken, Crafar has such passion, and is a brilliant pit liaison.
@@bearhixygaming7572 2021 i hope. I miss this 2011 Bsb commentators.

Fantastic video fantastic race 🇬🇧👍🏻
WOW Thanks for this !
One of the best final laps I’ve seen “this is blokes stuff “
god that commentary is amazing
Awesome racing, moments like this are why I love to watch them race.
Nothing else will ever come close. This makes the 2008 f1 finale look tame in comparison.
Yesss yesss ! Fantastic
Amazing battle!! ...love it ;)
Thats great. Good to see no stupid leg dangling.
I remember Hopkins and that Suzuki racing in Brno as a wild card in SBK.
Obtained pole position, but ended 5th in both races.
And that Suzuki livrery went stuck in my head for years...
I can't comprehend racing at that level towards the end on 1000s on these narrow british tracks.. its insane.
