The hit by the Bobettes was MR. LEE! Mr Lee Mr Lee hup Mr. Lee. One of my favorites too.
Roquebrune, where I live since 1998❤
SO NICE to watch my favourite Riviera points filmed with passion, enthusiasm and professionality! THANKS!
Thanks Paola!
Great video again and I particularly liked Mr Boos corduroy jacket. I feel Mr Boo is fully embracing the part of being a co host and starting to relax and come out of his shell. Loving it all. Xx
Thanks Neil. I obviously won’t draw his attention to this;
Interesting about Yeats. My aunt lives over the wall from his grave in Sligo, at the foot of Ben Bulben. I often see his epitaph - "Cast a cold eye on life on death, horseman pass by".
Good line!
since November it rains nearly every day in north of Bavaria, not like south of France. I hope I can shot 5 days in March in Cannes this year!
That would be fun. in your Opel?
nj @Dublin/Nice.Each episode becomes more interesting and awaited.
Yeats tomb inscribed with his epitaph
Cast a cold eye
On life ,on death.
Horsemen ,pass by.
at Drumcliffe ,Ben bulben, Sligo over 200km from Dublin.
Thanks very much. It’s a fascinating story…
Hello you two and thanks for another amusing and entertaining episode on your Electrified travels; We have and all electric Twingo ZE. My wife and I look forward to your Sunday evening antics. Make of that what you may.
This has to be the very first time that someone has pointed out the very real the Pollution on the CoteD'Azure. Having spent 8 incredible Cote D'Azure years living up on the Croix Des Guard, behind Cannes La Bocca, I can assure anyone who might doubt it that this is not one of the best known facts about living in the sun.
After a busy day in August, a band of brown could be seen stretching right across the horizon and one has to presume that if you could have been out there looking back to the shore, it would have appeared much the same. I can only guess how deep this pollution was but enough to be extremely unhealthy.
This is not a new problem as it was mentioned many years ago in the very revealing book 'PALACE' written by De Massey who, I believe was the nephew of the late Prince Rainier.
We both greatly miss living there and except for the summer heat and the price of property, probably still would. Now living in the cool of Brittany, one of the greatest treats up here, is to be able to go out in the morning and inhale a lungful of sweet fresh air. The wide empty roads and lack of traffic plus property prices and elbow room in abundance also contribute to our 'almost' complete contentement.
The roofs may not be terracotta nor the shutters pastel shades of blue or green; the Bretagne colours seem to lean towards a strong red or black but here we are. For the time being, at least.
Why is Mr Boo so named? R
Thanks Richard. I’ve never see the pollution so clear as this day but I shall look out for it now! I confess I’ve never been to Brittany. Maybe Elton should so a road trip one day!
@@MeandMonAmi It’s a long way from down there to up here, you’d need a long lead. Cote D’Azure it is not but there are so many positives as to have made it very good living here. One of which, no parking charges in our bit around Carhaix, Finisher, Something to do with a Queen Anne way back who wouldn’t marry a noble if he didn’t make all roads free to use by all.
Keep up the good work. R
Another great trip ...... and interesting history of WB Yates final resting place, maybe! Just love traveling with you and Mr. Boo!
Thanks Linda!
Enjoyable video. The food scene was abrupt...but I get you - have been there where I eat some rich food and while it tastes great...it's not really for me and I don't want to have it again. I think ya took some of the same roads as in the Grace Kelly and possibly the Monaco grand prix vids - throwback to the Shirley Bassey reference. Loved the bits of history re: Le Corbusier and W.B. Yeats. What lovely views! Thanks for the video.
Thanks Mel. That was ALL we ate on account of the erm, price…
Thanks again guys, that was lovely. I especially enjoy the cinematic reveals, delicious colors and grading. They make for a unique hallmark to your channel.
If by chance you would be interested in sharing a bit more about the affordability (or lack thereof) and options for extended or long-term living on the French Riviera, I and possibly others would much appreciate your practical perspectives on cost and life.
Cheers!
Thanks Jack. We keep meaning to get round to something like that. We will!
@@MeandMonAmi Cool! I look forward to it. It's difficult to find an honest take on the Riviera from a "real person' who actually lives like a normal parson rather than the life of billionaires and tourists, and I trust you would provide that take.
I've spent a bit of time in Germany, U.K. and Italy, and have always been curious about what life for an ex-pat living modestly in France and the Riviera would be like, or even possible. And, if an ex-pat might end up feeling a bit isolated socially, in case that provide any ideas for content.
Thanks again.
Thanks Jack. We keep meaning to make this video (and many others)but I think it’s a question many people ask so we should do it!
OMG This village is my fav. Please visit Carnoles as well.
Will do our best!
What no log man? Only kidding. You guys really are so lucky to live near to so many stunning locations. And that weather! Please send some of it over to the Uk 😀. Thanks again for a lovely video !
Thanks Andy. Ironically there was a log man near the olive tree but he disappeared just as I poked my camera over his hedge
@@MeandMonAmi Lol. It must be log man season
I wondered where the log man was too !!!! 🤣
Great Vlog, so much information… One day if I get to Monaco I’ll have to get a Citroen Ami and follow your adventures… 🚙
Citroen ami tours! Now there’s an idea!
Wonderful video! Thanks Tim I really enjoyed it. You and Mr. Boo are great! 😃
Thanks Maureen. So pleased you enjoyed!
another entertaining video!.. Thanks
Thanks simon
Great video, again, did not know that about WB. It seems the most scenic views are from the cemeteries. Really miss those mild winters down there. Looking forward to the next video. Stay safe
I’m a bit obsessed with cemeteries (You may have noticed!:
Watched your vlog on Saturday 26th - been a busy week! lifted my heart and spirits after the extremely sad events in Ukraine - you and Mr Boo deserved the ‘fine dining’ I remember your wonderful restaurant visits to strange and diverse eateries around the coast and into Italy.
Being a ‘foodie’
Thanks Fran. In a weeks time we’ve a very resto centred episode coming.
Thank you for your commentary you've gained a new fan from Newark-on-Trent UK
Thanks! Welcome Newark on Trent!
hello you two, your videos are always so nice and captivating good luck globetrotting and take care of yourself!!
Thanks Jean-Pierre.
Very Good Video. Highly enjoyable.
Thanks Jamie
@@MeandMonAmi Remember I said I might have good news for you within two weeks. I have an Update. Because of it's secrecy I cannot put it in the Comments. I will send it to your e-mail address.
my tests say, you can drive 45 km uphill with between 15 to 18 % and your electricity goes down to 3 km autonomy. But when you drive downhill, you will win up to 30 to 50 %
interesting. What temp outside?
@@MeandMonAmi between 8 and 12
Ah ok so similar to here
That was fun, fabulous views after you climbed 500 stairs. 😂😂😂. Sorry about lunch they obviously didn’t know who they were serving 😘 Lovely to see the beautiful sun , the weather is dreadful here . Thanks so much. Loving this on a Sunday xx
Thanks Linda. It was very tasty just not my bag!
Hello bon vivants, We are so jealous of the beautiful weather you have had for weeks. Tonight we are in our third storm in two weeks. Anyway, again beautiful images of the area and it's nice to see how you enjoy it and how to capture that in beautiful pictures. Nathalie and I hang on to the roof for a while until the storm has passed. A cheerful greeting from Rotterdam.
Thanks Alex. Hope the storm passes safely!
Thanks this was really interesting! What amazing architecture, signs etc to spend all day photographing… Laurie NZ.
Thanks Laurie.
Wonderful video!!!! The castle was so interesting with beautiful views.Love from Vermont
Thanks Rebekah
Thank you, Tim & Mr. Boo. When we visited Roquebrune, we sat for quite awhile watching paragliders. It was very enjoyable. Such a nice village to spend some time in. And we are with you as far as eating is concerned. We also enjoy pique-niques with a bottle of wine. :-). Thank you for taking us to the chateau. We did not do that. it was nice to see. Have a good week! See you next time. By the way, your video this past Wednesday was really interesting. While we won't be purchasing an Ami - can you imagine trying to drive it in NYC??? LOL - we enjoyed learning about its autonomy.
Thanks Carol. I’d love to drive it on Manhattan. Imagine the honking!
Thoroughly enjoyed this Sunday's vlog. It's been so rubbish in UK last few days with wind, rain ... this really cheered us. The banter between the two of you is great. Pan bagnat any day over fine dining pour moi. Thank you as always for the spectacular views and taking us to these beautiful locations 😎🌊🚙
Thanks Vanessa. Yes I’m deffo more of a pan bag at guy;
Silly question, do you ever have any problems with the sun getting in your eyes in the Ami with the lack of a sun visor?
Yes! And I think we will need a sun visor for the roof as the weather gets warmer
Another outstanding effort in Cinematography, Editing, and Sound. Bravo.
No. They have 2-channel Røde wireless Go 2 microphones. The driver has the device with a magnetic clip under the shirt and the other man has the microphone on top of the shirt. Listen to the video with the headphones and you may disagree with your opinion.
Wireless Go 1 actually. We are saving up for wireless go 2!
@@MeandMonAmi ok. Two pairs?
@@catchbaythe car is very difficult to record sound in as the frequency of the motor at high speed causes issues. And it’s very echoey!
@@MeandMonAmi I’m too picky. Please continue doing these videos. I have visited those places few times and I like EVs.
Another great one. So relaxing to watch. Is that a toy AMI with the title on top of the map? They sell that there? Thanks.
Yes it is and they do!
Ian and Mr Boo thanks again waked through Roquebrune on our Headwater walking holiday based in Menton - it was lovely but you had more facts at your fingertips than our guide ! Savills told me this week that the E s M studio had had an offer accepted on it - probably for best as wife not sold on idea - at 16 square m pretty small but I thought it pretty special - will make the move when the time is right - better not wait too long as 68 already . You are my favourite channel thanks Bill in VERY windy Sussex !
Thanks Bill. I will ask mr boo to send you some ideas if you are still looking. Keep out of the wind!
@@MeandMonAmi Thanks Tim - I think I screwed up by offering a part payment in a form they might have thought of as "dodgy" and I feel the agent has blacklisted me ! I guess they get all sorts approaching them with perhaps "laundered" money etc... and they have the reputation of their company to protect.. It was unhelpful that they keep you waiting for up to 48hrs. before they get back to you via their contact form system too.. I was becoming impatient and bombarded them with requests ! Thanks for the offer of ideas - you have my e mail I believe.. wife is not super keen but eventually we might try and leave Blighty for good and go for something bigger than 16/37 sq. mom or whatever. Saw a nice 2 room 37sq. m. property in Grasse on Rightmove search.. that location is also a possibility - still within striking distance of the coast and away from the frenetic crowds in high season. There is of course a whole market in unadvertised properties that "go" through pure word of mouth - but you have to be on the ground or have good contacts.. thanks for your help - Bill
Thank you once again; I always took friends from England to see the olive tree; unfortunately most of them are no longer living. Somehow you must get a listing on the Nice municipal web site as your videos are absolutely perfect as guides to the Cote d'Azur. Sorry that fine dining is not your cup of tea as there are some Michelin restaurants it would be worth your while visiting.
Thanks DP. I love great food but I am a bit more cheek by jowl and rustic …
Do you use a polarising filter for some of those shots down to the sea?
Nope. Was a long time ago so not sure which camera we used to be honest..
Hi guys, which was the restaurant you wanted to go?
The grotto and the olive tree? Mainly because Mr Boo had identified a steak tartare on the menu for me!
@@MeandMonAmi it's a pretty good restaurant indeed.
I’ll say this politely, if you already ate in the restaurant you were at, what other restaurant would you recommend there 😉?
I have friend who loves where we ate but maybe went midweek when its a lot cheaper!! I’ve heard good things about Casarella
His name was “Le” ?
It’s true but it never stops me dropping the Le!
Haha! I had to Google it 😂 love this channel- learning so much. Also obsessed with cemeteries, especially the ones in Italy and France 😻
@@livebrightyoga Thanks. You are in for another cemetery ‘treat’ this week!
