I miss the days when they were on the radio all the time. I've been listening to southern gospel a couple days now. My heart goes from aching to overwhelming joy in instant rollercoaster hills. Thank you Jesus for planting that seed in me. Deep within my rotten, wretched and wicked heart. You have changed me. I feel convicted of my sins now because of you Lord. The sorrow and shame of being a sinner. The joy for being thought of. The joy of being written down in the book of life. Of being Saved..
@@rkooyers For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20
Hallelujah.. You Statlers have renewed this old hymn.. I’ve always loved it and now you have brought it back to me and how Jesus suffered and died that our sins can b forgiven and we can live with him forever in Heaven!! Thank you Redeemed singers for singing this precious old song and Thank You Jesus for the Cross ..and your love for us🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏
This was my grandfather 's (George "Pop" Smith) favorite hymn. We would sit at the piano and sing at the top of our lungs. We loved listening to the Statler Brothers. Thanks for the memories.
Remember you all the day you were at Watermelon Park my home town of Berryville, Va. and thought you all were great. And the concerts at Gypsy Hill Park were top of the line. Rest in peace Harold.
I pray for a come back someday. God gave them a gift and they need to use it for as long as they can. I loved all their music. They have no idea the pleasure they gave to all of us !!!!!!!!!!!
This hymn was was great grandpa's favorite one one day he got really sick and he had a massive stroke he could not recinizine us at all ! He played this on his harmonica and then he went to heaven!
fathers favorite-he'd sing at church on sunday-turned down Kate Smiths "american idol winnings" to stay home with his family - work -and take care of them- a great man-passed young. love has no beginning and no end-it's a circle- a grey eagle
I loved this group so much and was so sad when they retired, The Bible does not speak of retirement. He gave them a gift that should of been used until they could not sing for Jesus. They changed life's . Giving Praise and Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ with their voices giving his message to the world . That is what we are suppose to do in our older age. That is one reason I believe he keeps us here as we get older. It is not about us. It is all about helping people to know God' son !
Of course the Bible doesn't speak of retirement... When it was written, very few people lived past their 50th birthday... A man living to his 60th birthday would've been like someone living to 100 nowadays (it happens occasionally but you wouldn't want to bet on it!)
My Grandfathers and one Grandmother are there, along with many other friends/family, and I only hope I don't join them too soon, you know? I spread Christ's love and message as best I can. I fail often, but I know when I do and I work to not fail again. We will join them again one day, and when we do, we will know true perfection.
From left to right: Harold Reid, Phil Balsey, Don Reid and Jimmy Fountain (who replaced Lew Dewitt after he became too sick with ulcerative colitis to continue with the group). The pianist is Bill Gaither.
Nobody and I mean nobody does gospel as good as the Statler's! They're the best. That TV show they had was the best show on TNN!!!!!
Elvis did a great renditions of hyms.
I agree 💯❗

Love the statlers
I remember at every end of their tv show, they sang a gospel hymn. I so enjoyed it !
They could sing it a capella, and sound great as usual. But the piano guy is great also.He plays it right, good old fashioned church accompaniment.
Best version of this song yet, harmonies brilliant.
Some Country Singers Slip & Slide on This Song! However the Stalers do not do that On This! What Great Voices They have!
And Johnny Cash didn't either.

When people grow older their voices change. Perhaps they did not "chose" to retire from music? They can (and I hope they do) serve in other ways.
Of course the Bible doesn't speak of retirement...
