- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Nostalgia! My grandma had this car when I was little.
I want one like this so bad! Today I sat in the driver’s seat of one. It was a 1996 in dark green 4 door. It was a fixer upper but still it was awesome. This is my favorite body style of Grand Prix of all time.
I drove one of these for 8 yrs. Its was blue with a thin red stripe. Gorgeous car.
I was going to get one for my first car it has 130km on it
I had a 91 LE. It was my first car. Very reliable and cheap to run.
That's one of the best cars ever made. Without a doubt.
Really I was thinking of getting this for my first car it had 130km on it
My first car was a blue 94 SE.. the cup holder s in the door panel was the coolest thing I thought
Man that 3100 is such a nostalgic sounding motor now.
Aw man those must’ve been the days. Even a sports car had the front split bench seating and column shifter I love!
@@aaron7671 I had an 02 Impala base model and it had a split bench/column shift. LOVED IT!
I miss the bench seat. Loved the bench in a 2001 Buick LeSabre I test drove many years ago. Smooth ride. They don't make cars the way they used to, unfortunately.
Got the chills when you turned on the radio. That was the exact song I played on that exact radio station... But I know that's not my car. I gave her up at about 160k
It’s got an unique design
I've always adored the sedan variation of this model year, There was a teal 96 in my area with 86k miles that sold recently, and it sold fast. I admire everything about these sedans. I still have hopes to get one someday which I have insisted forever.
i just bougtht one for $1400 nice looking car but very cheap feeling.
I really liked this car back in the day !
I used to have this exact car, but it was a 95, and it was white. Goddamn I miss you Shallteer!
It sounds like a car I would have enjoyed myself. I'm looking for something like this.
I had a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix LE back in high school it was my first car
My uncle had a Pontiac grand prix and it is exactly like this one.
I liked how the tail lights looked this generation
My first car was a teal green 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix which I bought with 75,000 miles. Not the prettiest car from the front but it drove nicely and had all the features you could want from that era. A good reliable first car that never let me down!
We had a dark green, it was good looking cars, especially for the 90s and early 2000’s. Teal green was a nice colour too. Don’t see these around anymore, maybe because of corrosion.
I'm thinking of getting one it's 130km exact far only 2k should I get It ?
I mention in Saabkyke04’s video of the 1998 Grand Prix GT and I liked how it was in red, I also like how this 1994 Grand Prix in red. He also did a 2008 Grand Prix GXP in silver and I like how that body style is in silver.
My favorite generation!
I love my 95 SE turquoise sedan that i found with 74k for 1500. GREAT first car, couldnt be happier.
I really like the cars from the 90's I don't know why. Probably because I was born in 1993
I want to see one of these with a coupe front end
Yea I never understood the reasoning behind a completely different look from the sedans and the coupes. Wouldn’t it have been cost effective (and obviously more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes) for gm to have just thrown 2 more doors on a coupe?
@@Auron799 Yeah, Ill build one... one day, 5th gens are hard to find now
@@misterbuklau4053theres a few 5th gen Grand Prixs still rolling around here in MN but definitely not as much as the 6th gens. The majority of the 5th gens are starting to rot completely away due to the road salt we use up here :(
I have a teal green 94 grand prix GT with the 3.4 V6. It only has 106,000 on it too, I love those cars!
im getting one this weekend, it will be my second car
Incredible! Those are extremely rare and I would love to see it. Was it loaded? Did it have leather, moonroof, or HUD?
I always thought these cars looked cool. Really like the lightbar on the front
i had a 96. i removed the lights in the light bar and painted the plastic cover the same color as the car. i thought it looked better. people either loved that light bar or hated it.
Imagine putting a led strip in there for really smooth lighting.
Same here ! The light bar was first on the Mercury Sable in 1986 but in the Pontiac Grand Prix, it was perfected.
It always reminded me of the movie "RoboCop" which they used Mercury sables or Ford Tauruses for the movie as Police cars
@@user-bw8bq3vb4b Don’t think any of these were in the movie.
Kyle, I really love your videos. I am european, so I found very interesting to see all-time american cars I would never have seen otherwise. And you do great quality reviews. Very good work!
Wow...good sounding motor!
Good review from this old cars.Looks that all that cars have a soul.Keep your good work :)

This is a funny 😄 😆 😁 looking car 🚗 🚘 🚙 especially the Light 💡Bar Across The Middle In The Front.I Normally Dont See A Lot Of Those Anymore!!!
my family had one these grand prix when I was real young, probably in elementary school but it was a 1995. this video brings back memories
ive always been a fan of those full length headlights haha
Great video Saab! I just acquired a very rare version of the GP sedan. Look forward to more of your vids.
GM V6s always sounded the best to me. Even the less powerful ones like this
3.1L and the 2.8L had a very burly sound.
I think the exhaust leak makes it sound better lol
Jacob Burrows definitely
Good first car, pretty cheap, somewhat reliable, got good power in these older pontiac's.
My first car was an 89 Grand Prix with the 2.8L v6. Loved the throaty exhaust
Great video as always Kyle!
OMG I want a car with a light bar!!!!!
Jesus pontiac has been using the same looking steering wheel and cluster set up in all their cars for 10-15 years. can hardly tell if your sitting in a 01 trans am or a 01 sunfire.
Justin Macdonald I can tell by the chime and the window switches
damn dude this brings back old memories me & my family had the same grand prix same color and all the only difference is ours was a 95 but dis is my favorite pontiac car!!!
What would Pontiac look like in the future
Mostly suvs with names that uses names from the cars.
the engine on the 1988-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix
Engine
2.8 L V6
3.1 L V6
3.4 L Twin Dual Cam V6
2.3L I4
Don't forget the 3.1 Turbo!
@saabkyle04 i cannot wait to see em!! :) thanks for all your dedication!! ur the only youtuber that we can count on!!! u always post multiple vids a week i wait for the email daily LOL!!:)
the transmission on the 1988-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix
Transmission
3-speed automatic
4-speed automatic
5-speed manual
I remember when you did a tour of that '95 Grand Prix Coupe! :)
The STE models from the early 90s were kick ass. Very rare though
I just acquired a 93 STE! Love it and yes, very hard to find. Took me several years.
the 1988-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix was assembled in
Kansas City, Kansas, United States
The sound of those revs really made me miss my 95 Grand AM GT with the same drivetrain. It would be sweet if you could fin a 4th gen grand am gt for your channel.
My dad had one along time ago be for he died
Lovin' that exhaust.
My brother looking kinda Smooth today
yo videos rock bro
My 1st car was teal 94 pontiac grand prix the car I learned to drive also she ran good ❤
@ 1:14 was that a Dodge Spirit or a Plymouth Acclaim? Could you please do a video of that if so? lol
Man they don't make em like they used to. I love how this sounds. However it's rather odd for this car to be that loud. Like theres an exhaust leak
Where is the gas pump located on that prix94
Mine needs work. It's the SE model, but it's essentially the same car. Even though its needs work I love it. I might get it painted that shade of red because it looks great in red.
Exactly. ive had mine for 5 years. And i've only had to replace tires. mines a 94' grand prix but only 2 door.
Mi marca estadounidense preferida.Lástima que desapareciera.
MY FAV SAABKYLE ERA!!!!!
If they had made a manual model then I would buy it in a heart beat.
The sedans were available in 1990 with the 282 5 speed manual on the one year only 90 Turbo STE sedan. The 91-93 sedans could be optioned with the 284 5 speed manual behind the LQ1 3.4 DOHC 24 VALVE V6. Only 1 1993 5 speed STE sedan was built. It was found in a TX junkyard many years ago sadly.
@Karnage542 those do come with duels but someone must have replaced the pipeing with a stock lx grand prix muffler
Aftermarket exhaust?
That would make a great first car for me
@kayslaay haha relax. compared to negative temps its warm. It depends on where your live. In my area, many do wear t-shirts if it gets that warm (32f).
"see that motor rock" lol funny how you said it.
My Mom Had A 1996 Grand Prix....It Was Dark Green And Rain Would sometimes leak in it and make a mildew smell...and I broke the headlights
does it have a CD player?
@YELLOWxSNOW I always wanted to see them lit up with all xenon bulbs.
All, this is the new and improve GM
@saabkyle04 Don't clear out the 99 96 silver and maroon Chevy luminas. i really like thous ones. please save em .
That thing looks like it's due for some motor mounts...hopefully the intake gaskets have been dealt with. Those are solid cars otherwise. Nice sound. Love the fake second exhaust tip LOL
kinda looks fun to drive
Seth Franklin they're extremely fun to drive. pretty quick too!
I have a 1993 3.1 with a 4t60 4 speed auto. I love this thing to death, bar headlight and all. Handling is great as well
Seth Franklin too bad you don't see these around anymore. I've been looking for one of these for sale for a while.
NissanSucks99x The legend’s lights and gages would light up like a Christmas tree on cold starts on winter mornings where the car would never start at all, I missed several days in the high school freshmen year, The transmission never shifted softly, it would be loud and shaky while shifting, the interior is the worst I put my hands on, it’s lose and lack of quality, it burned excessive gas, I hated putting gas in it, the seat belts had a hard time unlocking, the outside of the car dances while accelerating. The thing was a nightmare from day one.
had a 96, exactly like this. can confirm that it was very fun to drive. there was always something broken, but it always was fun.
my dad used to have on when I was a baby
haha 32 degrees as a cold start... thats almost t-shirt weather! :-)
can you do a New Video , For Some Reason I Like This Car More Than Mine nd I Have A 98 Bonneville
@SubieSean wow that is like the 1st positive comment for a GM car I have ever seen from you lol.
lmao why wouldn't they function the left exhaust!? wtf? It is just hanging there
very clean car for the miles on the odometer
I think the older 3.1 had a better sound. The one I'm talking about is the one they put in the Cavalier from 91-94.
alot of vids today!! u must be cleaning out a hard drive or just happy about something LOL!!
@micrasupers557 32 degrees can be either in celcius or farenheit
quick question is the second gear start on or off when the light is on?
What is second gear start
Vroom Vroom 🏎
"Why do you love this car?, I thought hate American cars?". So what?, I don't hate every American car out there. This car is an example that there are some American cars out there that I love. It's better built than any South Korean car out there and is a car that every 90's kid would love. This is the kind of car that a person wearing a backwards hat, a pair of sunglasses and a leather jacket would drive. I always loved GMs larger cars, but I was never a huge fan of their compact cars (Unless if you count the L-Body cars, N-Body cars, Toyota based cars or the Saturns). It's a lot better than a Ford Taurus, that's for dang sure and yes, I am starting to have a grudge with some of these Fords, because of their numerous problems and reliability issues. Fix or Repair Daily is right, sums up some of the Fords pretty well.
Oh and BTW, this car is one my dream cars for now on instead of the Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique
I have a 95. very reliable car
RIP Pontiac 1926-2010 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
so this is the car we used to have...
Yo why that sound not bad for the 3.1
Kind of reminds me of the Chevy Lumina.
@TJC450 haha thanks TYLER!
@kayslaay I am talking about fahrenheit lol. geez.
GM is NOTHING without Pontiac
GM1565 and Ford is NOTHING without MERCURY!
You know, GM went bankrupt.
Tapasi Panigrahi You know, only little kids drive imports.
GM Nothing Without Pontiac And Oldsmobile!!!!
@PoliceWillProtect Its obvious the gear indicator is broken.
CHEVY GMC BUICK AND CADILLAC
song?
In the Meantime by Spacehog
This looks like a typical rental car from back in the day. I liked the Buick Regal which was and almost twin cousin to this Pontiac Grand Prix. At least this Grand Prix has a revise dashboard cuz the preface lifted one was so ridiculously lacking in any type of design or ergonomics. I never understood how anyone could sit in one of these Eric GM cars and not noticed how much cheaper and Chin Seer the Plastics were then in a Honda or Toyota. Even in the late 90s I was a teenager working at a local car dealership in Miami. Some of these cars like the Pontiac Grand Am and Oldsmobile Alero embarrassing to show people with drooping head lighters and dimples in the dashboard on a brand new car it only cemented in my mind that I will never buy anything other than a Toyota
R.I.P Pontiac :/
space hog rules !!
Was in college when that album came out, everyone loved it. That song was played LOADS back then! Great memories! The song is period correct for this car too since the car is a '94 and the song came out in '95.
I own this car =)
Everioish same exact one?
5:42 you left it in neutral ;)
