this really is on a different level, he changed it, this is the best FITB to date hands down, he spat like 10 minutes straight on fuck knows how many different beats, without stopping to talk. shit!
I love the first 5 seconds. Akala jumps into the beat as it approaches fast. He looks slightly taken back to keep up with the beat as it comes out of nowhere. He fixes his headphones, re-positions them then after a few seconds, he just starts smiling because he knows he's got it and is not going to lose it. It's like he just knows its over from there. Amazing.
I am not really a big rap fan (sorry, it just is not my 'thing'); but, regardless of what music 'type' you like, if you cannot see that this man is pure genius, you're stark raving. Unbelievable talent, simply brilliant. THIS is what music, artist expression, social commentary, and the CRAFT is all about. Sensational.
Akala lyrics (especially fire in the booth 1) will be taught in universities in 200 years, just like Shakespeare is taught today. This guy unbelievable, what a genius. I just wish more people can hear him.
Akala a genius lyrically frfr but unfortunately so many of this generation don't care about bars or lyrical abilities or even flow for that matter.. but yea for Akala to try and Emply no US artist can hang wit him is cringe af though
Prob one of the best lyricists to ever live. His flow is rediculous check out the others he has one where he changes the flow multiple times. Wretch 32 is amazing aswell.
I e-mailed my lecturer to tell her I wasn't going to be able to make it in today as I'm listening to Akala's FITB 1-4, she replied that's fine you'll learn more there anyway.
Massive Akala fan but wish they didn't do so many cut edits in this part. Tons of edits in an 18 min segment is not an 18 min continuous segment if you know what I'm saying.
"...we don't all lecture at Oxford in a hoodie..." The line that summates his intellectual superiority when compared to most of the 20th and 21st century rappers that I've encountered.
I stopped rapping because of my crippling depression but I came across akala a couple days ago and it makes me want to share my Truth again. I mean, there's nothing I can say that haven't said before but he makes me want to get back into hip hop and screenwriting. Goodness. Bowing down to Akala.
Neeko Freeman It's great when an artist can inspire someone to overcome adversity. We all have something unique to offer; keep moving forward and believe in yourself and you will find what that is. Good luck!
Just found Akala in 2018! Made me fall back in love with Hip Hop again! "You wanna have a barney With the magic mountain machine gun army? With the only one that is channeling Marley? You watch rappers while I’m studying Garvey, left that"
for real dwrag!!! but i thought he would have given props to kano as well but he was right bashy brought good knowledge, wretch 32 and Avileno smashed it then kano showed everyone the new level but now Akala came back and took his crown.
+aldaniel francis Akala is on a next level to these music guys....he educates the lost youth....he talks about history, economics and a lot more most artists talk about chains opps money and garbage. 100% Rate Akala he a revolutionist After Akala Terminator Speaks truth not the best flow, but his message is 99% true
CharlieSloth is the best. You can tell when other ppl come in sometimes he's hyping but when he's looking at Akala it's unmistakable... he's amazed by him. Love it!
The thing about the Wretch verse is the beat. He got gifted one of the best pieces of music you could possibly spit over for evoking emotion. Akala, on the other hand, is just a straight up beast. He could rap over someone clapping on their knee and he'd still leave your mouth wide open Not taking anything away from the Wretch verse, though...
Absolutely nails the fire in the booth session and then smashes it out the park with his final take. The man has balls to wander from the safety of the battle ground and onto the opera stage. A true artist!
The imagery in the last verse was incredible, I mean just close your eyes and you can feel the pain, the abuse, the power in the last verse it's like a movie
Not only is his flow and lyricism on a whole other level over a number of beats, notice how he’s engaging with the camera at multiple points, he’s insane as well as entertaining
I swear down akala seems to be the onyl one smiling and jus having fun with his FITB where as everyone else takes it so seriously..... and yet, they are still no where near this level..... Big up akala !!
he is simply the best no matter you like hip hop or not this guy make ANYONE listen and THINK!!!! ! IS THIS NOT WHAT HIP HOP MEANT TO MAKE YOU FEEL ? START MAKE YOU THINK ............FEEL ....AND RETHINK AGAIN...I FELT LIKE I WAS IN THEATER ..AMAZING ALWAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO AKALA
I wonder if Charlie Sloth walks around with a sound machine in his pocket, so when his mum asks what's this mess in your pyjamas, he drops a bomb noise and says I don't know fam, I mean mam..
Listened to this at least two dozen times now. Unbelievable. I've been following Akala for a few years now and he's an inspirational poet and his flow is unrivalled IMHO. This Fire In The Booth blows me away every single time. This and his most recent book, Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire, are masterpieces. Keep sharing the knowledge!
You are witnessing true hiphop spirit my friend. Only Lowkey can compete with Akala. Lowkey has been out in Palestine helping the people and also in UNI studying. He has not released a track in years, we hope he will return.
Now and again you just need to listen to all his Fire in the booth back to back, massively underrated speaks nothing but facts, his flow and world play is on other level 🔥
Man, you don't listen to rap and expect to be brought to tears, to be humbled, to have your entire world exposed around you, but this shit, man, this shit goes beyond that. All through these 4 FitBs, but especially parts 3 and 4, I've felt the pain and anger of everyone who's ever been wronged by their fellow man flow through me, and it hurts, because you know you're part of the problem, and you know you can't change the past, and you know that influencing the future is a far off dream, so you just come to the realisation that life is pain, and humans are the ailment causing it.
The craziest thing about Akala is that he remembers all these off the top of his head, now i can spit off the top of my head bars ive not written but written bars that you've remembered is sooooooooo maddddd
I listen to this F.I.T.B almost every day just to hear him say: "I'm called Akala, the FLOW FATHA"! One of the best starting lines ever in any rap song!
This is amazing and very heartfelt. Thank you Akala. Thank you for the books and the lyrics. Thank you for educating us, remaining humble and humane. It is refreshing to see anyone with such power to influence others wielding that power so carefully and doing good in this world.
after sitting here watching Akala's fire in the booth 1through4 it's so clear to see he is by far the UK's most real. So consistent and on point with lyrics, flow, content, relevance, passion, and just straight fucking fire. everyone in the uk scene should respect his work. I'm 25 years old now and i remember sitting in science class playing Shakespeare out my sony erickson and i still bang his tunes now.
lmao at sloth dropping those bomb sound effects after a 6 minute critique of war and conflict
Loooool
I couldn't believe it charlie is mad lol
i died after he kept dropping that shit XD. LOOOOL
Bruh it made me laugh so much...on Akala, Mic Righteous and Lowkey...the bomb drop effect when they talking about how bad that shit is....
irony
this really is on a different level, he changed it, this is the best FITB to date hands down, he spat like 10 minutes straight on fuck knows how many different beats, without stopping to talk. shit!
18 minutes
10 minutes straight before a break
check out lowkey's fire in the booth
So its about the same as his other ones then, mans a monster
+Brandon Evans did you miss the bit where Charlie and akala talked for a bit ?
Akala is playing the long game. Trust me, his influence is only gonna increase
I hope
so true!
Stillness Solutions its worked so far 14 years and going stronger than ever.
word brutha
It’s a very long game then. Gets weaker by the day
Notice how Akala's the only rapper who shuts Charlie the fuck up for the whole fire in the booth every time...
that is true actually
Mic righteous.....
Same with Mic Righteous & Lowkey
lowkey, mic and akala 3 best UK rappers
I am 90% sure that is because Charlie doesn't have the intellectual capacity to fathom what Akala is saying
Amazing.
"Knowledge of Timbuktu, mixed with the slang of a london yout" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Harshiv Parekh London Jew
Harshiv Parekh that line makes me proud to be a Londoner, ther0 way repped us

He killed that many beats with that many bars. This takes the number 1 spot...

Id love to know how many bars he spat
Just madness
Where does he hold it man
chakras are aligned

Those who know know. Only 15 so far
i was like that after 3mins 51 lol

Lol
I do not comment often, but this man is an inspiration. Truly on a whole other level
lyrics, flows, rhymes 🔥😩
Never knew you were about the grime scene Milo aha! ;D
Ayyy milo, translate this to Apothicon?
Akala's more Hip Hop than Grime
Hi guys, MrRoflWaffles here, today were gonna be reacting to the mandem akala spittin fire on 1xtra.
There is a reason why he has 4 fire in the booths
+1
Real talk
+ScribzSix7even #67 yeah defo
Wretch's part 2 was the one with Avelino, he's been there before that
Because he has already done three?
Not sure how many times I've played this over the years but God damn it never gets old...Akala and Wretch really are on another level.
Me too, aways come back to this masterpiece 😍
Also Kano
I am not really a big rap fan (sorry, it just is not my 'thing'); but, regardless of what music 'type' you like, if you cannot see that this man is pure genius, you're stark raving. Unbelievable talent, simply brilliant. THIS is what music, artist expression, social commentary, and the CRAFT is all about. Sensational.
"I'm 32, Do you think I care about a post code" Lowkey took shots at Bugzy. LOOL.

+KaizerMan ...
+KaizerMan idiot. lowkey means sneakily and subliminally

Best Comment hahahaha
hahah seconded, best comment ever.
Akala lyrics (especially fire in the booth 1) will be taught in universities in 200 years, just like Shakespeare is taught today. This guy unbelievable, what a genius. I just wish more people can hear him.

Cameron Button don't lie fam
That's it, I give up listening to rap. There's no point, nothing will top these fire in the booths.
ya hes a nerd
😂😂😂😂 brilliant
Nah she said I understand I having been taught under him for years now
What impresses me the most is how he memorised 18 minutes of bars. When I go shop for my mum I can't remember what brand of custard she wants.
but still :D
What's truly impressive is he goes for like 11 mins straight before taking a break LMAO
ITz That Guy with what he does I don’t think he has time to sit and rehearse his lyrics everyday. He must have a really good memory
Haaaa. Legend.
Massive Akala fan but wish they didn't do so many cut edits in this part. Tons of edits in an 18 min segment is not an 18 min continuous segment if you know what I'm saying.
No shades, no chains or blings, no lyrics about shottin, money or honeyz...just raw, plain, simple, straight, real truth...
Masterful rap & spoken word. Nobody's topping that. Mr. Fire In The Booth.
Ello
I totally agree Craft. 👊
Facts though
Crafty I respect your pen and I'm a let you finish, but Kano had the best FITB of all time
Shox! Not you too bro. No diss to the Akala, but Kano?
What a beautiful friendship of brain, tongue and lungs.
"...we don't all lecture at Oxford in a hoodie..." The line that summates his intellectual superiority when compared to most of the 20th and 21st century rappers that I've encountered.
Wasn't he referring to Stormzy??
manc018 no he was referring to himself as he has been to oxford and lectured about black history
most of what he says will go over people's head #ItsAShame Akala is a BEAST
🔥🔥🔥
Bs, everyone isn't ignorant and stupid
a lot of people hear it but won't listen to it.
+Donger eeediot
I was thinking the same thing he's to deep for half these yutes today
03:51 "ain't got a diamond chain I admit it, but I do got an office with employees in it.." CLASS!
Still rocking with this. Listen to it every once in while when I need to be refocused on my mission.
One of the hardest fitbs, akala never disappoints. We need a lowkey part 2 Charlie
very unlikely, he's rumoured to be in Palestine
+Connor A.D not a rumour its confied
+No-Limitation probably listened live
+ben irish confirmed by who?
+RR Rolls he did do a live show with akala after he had quit though
this isnt even rap or trap or grime anymore he is just evolved into a next level genius
Good luck!
Don't ever give up. Depression is creative fire, even though it hurts like hell.
Depression should make you rap HARDER.
GETCHO ASS UP AND FIND SOME CYPHERS!
💗💗💗💗
There's light in you that nothing can take away. Your story matters 🤗
His presence is amazing, he seems so relaxed spitting bars, as if tho this is his natural state. World class talent!
Just found Akala in 2018! Made me fall back in love with Hip Hop again!
"You wanna have a barney With the magic mountain machine gun army?
With the only one that is channeling Marley?
You watch rappers while I’m studying Garvey, left that"
'And I aint diss black women, to make a living.'
This.
The comma wasn't required
This is not one of the best fire in the booth, this is the best fire in the booth
for real dwrag!!! but i thought he would have given props to kano as well but he was right bashy brought good knowledge, wretch 32 and Avileno smashed it then kano showed everyone the new level but now Akala came back and took his crown.
+aldaniel francis Akala is on a next level to these music guys....he educates the lost youth....he talks about history, economics and a lot more most artists talk about chains opps money and garbage.
100% Rate Akala he a revolutionist
After Akala
Terminator Speaks truth not the best flow, but his message is 99% true
His first one was just as good if not better
hes rated but hes not a revolutionary; he said this in his 3rd FITB
No bugzy Malone part 2 is
Wow....this just broke my fast, Akala is just one of a kind...
How does this break your fast, is it haram to listen to music?
+SuperbLotus it is now
+SuperbLotus I think he was saying it as a joke
Zack i was asking a simple question chill out mate.
SuperbLotus snm.
This should be on millions of views!! I.am.floored. Rapping consciousness with such ease!!!
We are witnessing a pure demonstration of craft (rap) prowess. Be content, there aren't many wandering masters sharing their gifts these days.
Blessed
Truss Mi
Whaaaaaat, just gets better and better the whole way through.
Had me pulling alll sort of faces.
CharlieSloth is the best. You can tell when other ppl come in sometimes he's hyping but when he's looking at Akala it's unmistakable... he's amazed by him. Love it!
...🔥 Akala, Lowkey & Mic Righteous Are The ONLY Ones Who Spit REAL Fire In The Booth NOBODY Can Top Them❗️🔥💯
The only ones? you mean they are the only artists you've heard.
errrrrrrrrr Bugzy Malone....
+The Sensei Bean bugzy alone?
Mr. Troll I dont get the joke..
mic righteous is shit where lowkey at
That feeling when you fully emersed in the realist lyricist you've heard and then Halfway through A FUCKING AD pops up.
Moliver just goes to show the world we live in bud
ublock origin
They gotta sort it quick
get adblocker its free and stops all of that
The thing about the Wretch verse is the beat. He got gifted one of the best pieces of music you could possibly spit over for evoking emotion. Akala, on the other hand, is just a straight up beast. He could rap over someone clapping on their knee and he'd still leave your mouth wide open
Not taking anything away from the Wretch verse, though...
Perfectly put
Agreed
Actually tickled me pink that comment
Excellent point
Akala has been our hero for so long and that symphony at the end was just completely raw and vulnerable. This is why Akala is incredible.
His grasp on history is truly a benchmark for fellow listeners
I'd never heard of him until today. I'm so glad I've come across him. His lyrics aren't the kind many would want to surface within the mainstream.
There's a reason why he's been in the booth 4 times, Akala lyrically one of the ardest in da uk scene he been here for time still smashing it in booth
hit that bomb button one more fucking time
Seriously. its like every twenty seconds.
haha I thought man's would be used to it by now. swear I don't even notice it anymore. fat bitch charlie
But.. but.. Im a dj. What a joke.
Leave little Charlie alone did you see how emotional he was at the end almost crying at the poem me to
chiefanon789 it's his show so surely he can do whatever he wants
Absolutely nails the fire in the booth session and then smashes it out the park with his final take. The man has balls to wander from the safety of the battle ground and onto the opera stage. A true artist!
So if Charlie tells anybody else
Their fire in the booth is the best there’s been
Is he high? Does he lie?
Nah, he knows that I’m in my own league!
Nearly at a million, half a year! Maybe one day it'll be at the 100 it deserves. Keep spreading this fire.
As expected this was fucking amazing. I'd love to see Lowkey, Akala, Black Thought, Aesop rock and Mic righteous all write an album together xD
Black Thought would be an interesting person to throw in to FITB, he would shell!
+Jimmy bruh man said roll safe 😂
Lowkey "mysteriously" disappeared
+sean mcdiarmid he's back with a new vid tomorrow! Check GlobalFaction
listened to this FITB at least 20 times so far, gets better every time, easily TOP3 FITB of all time....
The way the instrumentals changed😍💯 topped everyone
I swear down akala seems to be the onyl one smiling and jus having fun with his FITB where as everyone else takes it so seriously..... and yet, they are still no where near this level..... Big up akala !!
This video still impresses me beyond belief
is there a button better than like on videos like this. this was education
Favourite
+number1gstar cheers bro😂
Wow. Maybe Download , Favourite , Share , Replay lol
I wish there was an auto replay, but if that was the case then youtube would break from how many times this would get played.
There is an auto replay. If you're on Chrome, then right click on the video and select loop.
he is simply the best no matter you like hip hop or not this guy make ANYONE listen and THINK!!!! ! IS THIS NOT WHAT HIP HOP MEANT TO MAKE YOU FEEL ? START MAKE YOU THINK ............FEEL ....AND RETHINK AGAIN...I FELT LIKE I WAS IN THEATER ..AMAZING ALWAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO AKALA
actually he was spitting on grime beats 95% of the time in this fitb no hip hop
Best lyricist I've seen in a awhile. Puts chills on the spine.
sick breath control...he makes me wish I could rap in British accent...fucking sick though, I'm a fan now...He reminds of immortal technique...
IMmortal technique was legendary
There really is no one else that can match this! 🔥🔥🔥
Can't say I've ever been this blown away by a FITB. Found myself slowly and steadily clapping away for mins.
Undoubtedly the greatest fitb I've ever witnessed. No one else even comes close its so mad
been listening to this everyday since it came out
I could listen to Akala all day. He truly is on another level. Would love to attend one of his lectures.
I wonder if Charlie Sloth walks around with a sound machine in his pocket, so when his mum asks what's this mess in your pyjamas, he drops a bomb noise and says I don't know fam, I mean mam..
L
Funny, but still L
fuck me and my mates where saying the this! it must be true he just can't say something without dropping a bomb!
it gets sooo repetitive ae lol
and the smashing glass sound he just needs the wilhelm scream and his repetitive overused sound board is complete
hes repetitive because he went 10 minutes without stopping, ofc hes going to repeat something
cant take any other rapper serious after this
Materialism took over most people.
+ScribzSix7even #67 trust me don we need Rapman on Fitb
+ScribzSix7even #67 will check him out
Listened to this at least two dozen times now. Unbelievable. I've been following Akala for a few years now and he's an inspirational poet and his flow is unrivalled IMHO. You are witnessing true hiphop spirit my friend. Only Lowkey can compete with Akala. Lowkey has been out in Palestine helping the people and also in UNI studying. He has not released a track in years, we hope he will return.
Man went in soon as the beat started and dis is the best fitb it bangs like rah
Now and again you just need to listen to all his Fire in the booth back to back, massively underrated speaks nothing but facts, his flow and world play is on other level 🔥
Deeper than all the oceans...that's Akala....
The build up to and the climax of the first half gives me goose bumps every damn time jeeeeeeeeez!!!
His lyrics are so real and he can spit flow so good what an absolute rap god
Absolutely incredible, much respect for Akala.
4 years on and still listening to this banger! Akala is a Don!!!
Holy shit !!! Just played this again and it's reblowin my mind!!!!!!!
Wow- first time I've given him a chance- man has bars for days with a good flow
The craziest thing about Akala is that he remembers all these off the top of his head, now i can spit off the top of my head bars ive not written but written bars that you've remembered is sooooooooo maddddd
Rahh, came out on my birthday... What a gift...
This man changend my life and really opened my eyes.
I listen to this F.I.T.B almost every day just to hear him say: "I'm called Akala, the FLOW FATHA"! One of the best starting lines ever in any rap song!
Can't wait till number 5.
Who is this guy??? My Lord. There are no words, none.
"Call me Akala, there is no synonym."
One of the most intellectually encompassing lyricist that I've ever heard. Wish your messages could reach a wider audience
Putting adverts over this should be illegal
Looool deep

Inspirational with integrity. One of a kind.
I've waited 3 years for this. 🔥
The greatest to ever breath on a mic , and anyone who disagrees is a bloody liar he is . Part 5 must be due
This is amazing and very heartfelt. Thank you Akala. Thank you for the books and the lyrics. Thank you for educating us, remaining humble and humane. It is refreshing to see anyone with such power to influence others wielding that power so carefully and doing good in this world.
this fills me with a feeling i cant describe...
I saw this dude on TED-x and he educated my ass on the roots of hiphop. Annd he spit straight venom. Double salute
Wish I was one of the lucky few people in the studio when Akala was performing live.
The second part seemed so emotional, it was heart felt
Wretch 32 is my favorite FITB... This wasn't a fitb from Akala... This was I don't even know... Wow ... how do I even start

after sitting here watching Akala's fire in the booth 1through4 it's so clear to see he is by far the UK's most real. So consistent and on point with lyrics, flow, content, relevance, passion, and just straight fucking fire. everyone in the uk scene should respect his work.
