The History of EC Comics

EC Comics lasted for a little more than a decade and came to an end almost 70 years ago. Yet, in those few years, it shone a light onto an entire generation of comic artists, it battled government censorship, it produced some of the best crime, horror, and sci-fi comics ever seen, and it changed the way authors are acknowledged and how publishers interact with their readers. Series like Tales from the Crypt and Haunt of Horror defined horror comics, just like Frontline Combat and Two-Fisted Tales defined war comics, and in the process they opened the way for modern comics, paying a heavy toll for the privilege. This is the history of EC Comics.
