As much as I love both Margot Robbie and Lupita Nyongo, and their immense talent, placing them higher on this list than the likes of Denzel Washington and Cate Blanchette is absolutely criminal

As much as I like Timothy Chalamet, putting him right ahead of Adam Driver was funny.
And I'm extremely surprised Russell Crowe didn't appear in the list, having made Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander, 3:10 to Yuma, Cinderella Man, etc. And Saorise Ronan, Ryan Gosling, Kate Winslet, etc. But well, there are SO many great actors that is hard.
Seems like they didn't cause they forgotten as Russell Crowe giving lazy performances nowadays and his movies like Noah, Robinhood are controversial + his singing and accent getting criticized.

It's criminal that Gary Oldman is towards the end of this list. He's easily one of the GOATs. The wide array of characters he's portrayed over the years have all been flawless. There has been several movies where I didn't realize it was him until atleast halfway through if not most of the way through. He should've been ahead of several of these people at the very least.

I'm surprised Tom Hanks wasn't in this. He is and has been a phenomenal actor. I understand that he has done some shady stuff, but If we're judging this based only around acting then he is arguably one of the best in the business.

Depp is a great actor, but this century, I think he's been mostly unremarkable.
Heath Ledger, one of my most favorite film actors of all time and we all still miss him a lot.

I love Lupita Nyo'ngo. And as a fellow Kenyan, I couldn't be more proud of all she has accomplished and I wish her greater success in the days and years to come. However at this point in her career, to put her that high up this list ahead of Charlise Theron, Adam driver, Denzel Washington, Scarlett Johansson and Gary Oldman is a stretch (and why only a honorable mention for Chadwick Boseman? COME ON ARE YOU KIDDING ME!)
For sure, she's a great actor; but for the century she should have been in the lower half of the list. Considering great actors such as Alan Rickman whose sinister Role as Prof. Snape; The likes of Matt Damon who had a great two decades with killer roles like the Bourne series, Good will hunting and a whole other lot of movies. Even among lady actors I'm surprised that she also came ahead of actors like Rosamund Pike and the likes of Meryl Streep. Also seeing Denzel so low on the list is just scary. Denzel Washington! Even the son is just a testament of his greatness as an actor.
I'm also Kenyan so I'm hella proud of Lupita, but for this list. We are appreciating great actors for sure. Even Jamie Fox not being on the list and Rami Malek...Anyways, looking forward to a top 50 list. And please take your time. But the Mahershala Ali nod was awesome!! The guy was phenomenal in the Greenbook

christopher waltz is very 1 dimensional, he acts the same in every role. denzel washington is better, and #14 is a good spot for him considering there are so many great actors. what is wrong however is the questionable placement of so many less talented actors above denzel in this list, that is definitely wrong.
I love Lupita, she's fantastic, but she's only been in like 5 movies. Putting her in front of Gary Oldman, Jake Gyllenhaal and TOM HARDY, who wasn't even mentioned, is criminal.
Tbh I feel like she was put in there only because watchmojo needed to add some colour to the list and put a black actress, and who better the the black FEMALE Lupita. I'm not taking anything away from her, she's a great actress from the films I've seen her in but really there's only been few to mention. No actor have I come around more than Leo DiCaprio. Growing up seeing him in Titanic I thought he was just going to be a surface level "talent" who got by on his looks and charm. Then he soon switched to amazing dramatic roles and never turned back.

I think specifically they meant careers that began in this era. Robert De Niro, Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich etc. are all still acting but aren’t on the list. That said, this is shit list anyway.

I’d personally say Daniel Day Lewis deserves the top spot, his performances are so natural and convincing, and his work is extremely varied… I don’t get why Jennifer Lawrence is on the list, and you missed a few greats like Giancarlo Esposito and Saoirse Ronan, among others

Leo not only can disappear into any roles, but he also know how to choose quality movie to play (Titanic, Catch me if you can, Aviator, The departed, Blood diamond, Inception, Shutter Island, Django, Revenant, Wolf of wall street)

@@K0m30ng Dicaprio always gets overshadowed by other actors in his movies. Dicaprio is the Derek Jeter of actors amazing actor but overrated by his fans. Everytime I watch his movies I can always tell that its Dicaprio playing a role. He doesnt become his characters the way other actors can so I am not sure about the statetment that no other actors can play the characters Dicaprio has played.

Surprising that Leonardo's work as the little brother in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? wasn't mentioned, since that was where I was introduced to his potential as a character actor. He embodied that role to such an excellent degree that I could never have imagined him NOT actually being mentally disabled. He really has grown up nicely since that movie.
Why do I feel like Tom Holland deserves a spot on this list? Yes he’s well known for Spider-Man in the MCU but his performance in Cherry and The Devil All the Time proved that when he retires from playing Spider-Man he’ll still be successful

This list is so bad. Like there are some unknown names, overrated or actors that deserve to be on a list but not this if they consider 21st century and they actually reached their peak in the 90s or 80s. There are some good choices like Joaquin, Leo and some others but overall this is way too much of a subjective list.

DDL is one of the finest actors in the history. This list hasn’t done justice to a lot of great actors with rating them so low in the list. Cate Blanchett should be in the top 10 starting with DDL.

Benedict Cumberbatch is an acting beast by all accounts. I don’t think I’ve seen him in a bad role. Besides Doctor Strange, already one of the MCUs best performances, he’s been fabulous in Power of the Dog, made a great Khan (the OG is better, but he’s still great in Into Darkness), and slayed it (pun intended) as Smaug.
He was amazing in the imitation game and Sherlock
His performance in the miniseries Patrick Melrose is astonishing and heartbreaking. It's only 5 episodes so you can easily knock it out in a single afternoon.
Man is pure talent.
I commented on that also. He has three movies out right now that really show his range. He can do the big blockbuster. He can play the multilayered villain. And he can play a very emotionally damaged and sweet person. I don’t think there is a single person on this list who is that prolific and so good at everything that he does.

My list would be completely different. First I'd do two lists. Top 50 Actors and Top 50 Actresses from 2000 all the way to 2020. 2021 starts a whole new chapter. So 2020 is the cut off year. Then I'd do a top 20 with only 10 Actors and 10 Actresses making it even for both male and female and that's how you'd truly see who the best of the best were. If they didn't make that Top 50 it means either their best days are behind them or their best days are ahead of them.
Leo, Dafoe, Phoenix, Chalamet, Washington, Bale, Driver, Ledger, Ali, Oldman, Lewis, McConaughey absolutely would make my list in that Top 50 but the rankings would definitely be different.
As for the women I'd say all that were chosen would more than likely make it in the top 50. No doubt Blanchett, Lawrence, Theron, Johansson, Robbie, Davis, Nyongo & probably Collete would make my top 50 but again the rankings would be very different.
I'd base it off their best performance and see where it ranks among the others then what are they most known for in those decades and then rank all their performances from those years and then add everything up and that's how I would rank my list.

If this was a list of people whose careers began in the 2000s, Daniel Day Lewis & Leonardo DiCaprio wouldn't be on it. If it was a list of people whose careers shone brightest since 2000, Meryl has received 10 Academy nominations and 1 win in the past 2 decades, more than most people listed here. While I understand this is a subjective list, no lover of cinema would rank JLaw, Margot Robbie, ScarJo that high while not even mentioning Meryl Streep. I am 100% certain the producers forgot about her while they were making this list. There can be no other explanation.

I think Nicole Kidman deserved a place on the list for her variety of performances over the past 20 years. Moulin Rouge, The Others, Cold Mountain, Dogville, Rabbit Hole, Big Little Lies and this year for playing Lucille Ball which was a great performance.
So does Brad Pitt. With Seven, Fight Club, Ocean's Eleven, Mr and Mrs Smith, Seven Years in Tibet, Inglorious, Curious case of benjamin button, Moneyball, Spy Game, Once upon a time in Hollywood (oscar winning role) and many other iconic movies under his belt.

Samuel L did Unbreakable, Django, the Hateful Eight, and was Nick Fury in the 21st century. Morgan Freeman was in the Dark Knight Trilogy, Invictus, and won an Oscar for Million Dollar Baby in the 21st century. I can't say if they deserve to be on this list, but they've done incredible roles in this century. They're not 90s actors.
Jackson is always fun to watch, but being prolific doesn't always mean great acting. He always plays Samuel L Jackson, and there's nothing wrong with that, but you never forget who you're watching. Same for Reeves, who I adore. He is a terrible actor. I love him, but the man is good in like, 2 movies.
