I'm an Illinois fan die hard, but after listening to how respectful coach Barnes was towards Brad and the team, I'm now a Tennessee fan and if Illinois doesn't win the championship I'll be rooting for them.
Illini fan. You Vols fans are all super classy and respectful. What a gutsy last second drive and shot. Y’all are so good. Can’t wait to see y’all in the dance. Have a great season Vols. Great job coach Barnes. See ya at the finals hopefully.
Good job Vols from an Illini fan, thats a tough atmosphere to come in with a target on your back and this Illini team isnt your typical unranked squad, this team is loaded but inconsistent and you got a little of the good and the bad, but thats a quality win on the road and have always had tremendous respect Coach Barnes ,good fortunes in the SEC and dont be surprised if these two teams run into each other later on
The Vols is 1.5 points favor in this game. The Vols won by 2 to cover the line. That’s a tough Illinois team that the Vols play against and in an electric home crowd. Why Illinois is unranked is puzzling. But to win a game like this can build team character. With Chaz and Zekai are out, Jordan carries the offense in the second half and came up big in the last play. Both teams are fighting hard and the game can go to either team. But as a Vols fan, I respect this Illinois team a lot and wish them all the best in the big 10 league plays. For the Vols, couldn’t be more proud of the way the team is fighting on the road. SEC is a tough league in BB now these days, so there will be more games like this for the Vols to fight. Looking forward to this season and see how this team will respond to a tough SEC season. Go VOlS!
@jkl8577 they had a huge turnover well over 90% from last yrs elite 8 team, so it was understandable they would be unranked to start but with one of the toughest schedules in the nation and the blue chip recruits ,most expect this team to be battle hardened and ready come March its really one of the most intriguing teams they've ever assembled, they have 2 possibly three one and done s but the potential to improve quickly is there for sure and the ceiling is incredibly high all things considered, it's going to be fun to watch.the vols will have their share of huge games otw ,Auburn and Alabama look formidable as well certainly a big up year for the SEC
Solid? Did you even watch the game? Last second shot could have been lucky for either team. And coaches don’t coach. They allow too many three point subsidies NCAA over summer needs coaching school and coaches need mandatory attendance And can anyone teach Tenn to shoot free throws? Maybe call shaq to do better.
@@DanielKuhlman-e8x i agree. Okpara never got the ball inside. there was no real inside presence by the Vols. Millicic needed to stop taking 3s since he kept missing. The free throw shooting was poor. Both starting guards got in foul trouble. Illinois screened well and their top scorer in the game got alot of open drives to the basket as a result.
I’m jealous of the Illinois home environment. That was as hostile an environment as the best in the SEC. Illinois is an excellent team and will have a great season. Either team deserved to win that one. Gainey stole it and we are fortunate.
We needed this type of game. Last year‘s team possibly would have lost this game. We have players that are dependable this year and not relying on just one or two people. Very impressed. Go Vols
@DanielKuhlman-e8x And you coach were? Both teams played their guts out. Hats off to both. RB is a hall of fame coach. He knows more basketball than most coaches in the country.
Funny hearing that timeout where the Illinois coach was saying to fight through the screens and get to gainey because he’s not a ball handler. Then gainey ends up thrashing his team single handedly 😂 Go Big Orange. 🍊
I'll tell you what Gainey saw..... Coast to Coast unimpeded and he did what youre suppose to do when tthat happens.... but the key play to the game was Millicic's steal and dunk at the 1 minute mark left in the game
So much respect Coach Barnes! Love that he gave the Illini their accolades! But as for Gainey (who just wanted to talk trash to our guards), zero respect for you!
The Refs definitely did not want the Vols to win this game. But this team is resilient. You know the Illinois coach didn't think that gainey was a ball handler well guess what he was not only a ball handler he also won the game for us. GO VOLS. Oh and let me just say coach Barnes is one of the best coaches in any league right now. Very classy and respectful
Stop it! Don't say the refs wanted one or the other team to win! This game wasn't called great (the refs inserted themselves) but nothing team "gained" an advantage over the other because of it.

Agreed, if we can’t win it, I’ll pull for y’all!
Coach Barnes...... just classy

We needed a good road test. And we proved that even if our shots aint falling we can play great D and physical ball and still win. Go vols
Amazing game by Illinois and that home environment is incredible. Go #1 V-O-L-S
Vols are solid
Final Four if not national championship good!

Illini fan here! Good luck to the Vols. You deserved the win!
Rick Barnes has forgotten more than most current coaches have learned about basketball 🧡 fun game!
Lol. Most coaches are dumb. They rely too much on the three pt subsidy
Not a good coaching move
Both teams today sucked.
Both coaches were not good
@DanielKuhlman-e8x with that amazing attitude. If you're not a high school guidance counselor then the universe is missing out.😊 Go V-O-L-S

Championship teams find a way to win tough games, i would be amazed if Tennessee goes unbeaten, but they're definitely trouble 🏀

@delbertmcfly5958 I'll say what I want to say and I'll call it the way I see it PERIOD.
Yep refs were horrid. Mashack was assaulted. People should be doing time for what they did
Brad had a Schiano moment.
The Vols didn't just beat Illinois, they had to beat the refs too.
Vols won't be stopped. Can't be stopped. GBMF🍊
Those refs were abysmal. Illinois in bonus starting at 11 minutes left in the ball game and Illinois only had 3 team fouls at that point. 🙄
24 fouls to 21 fouls, yes crazy blatant bias, unbelievable bias, 3 fouls! Horrible... if you're a complete idiot..
Refs were equally bad on both ends! Just stop!
Good interview besides the constant coughing and sneezing. Sheesh!!
