    Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Very helpful, I’m surprised that this product is not more widely known and used.
    Just getting a used CB500X after many years of not riding, and Il be loading it up with a Garmin Zumo, fog lights, heated grips and heated gear probably, and I was dreading figuring out how not to fock up the electrical system. So your video auspiciously popped up in my feed, sent by the algorithm God no doubt.

      Glad it helped. Yeah it's a little pricey, and you can do relay for cheaper. But this is so easy to set up and I like the fact that the accessorie don't actually turn on until the bike is started and running.

    Love the review and the demonstration! I thought I was done adding things to my bike and then my wife got me one of these for Christmas LOL! I had wanted to add other mods whether heated grips or additional lighting for night riding but never wanted to alter the OEM wire harness. For as simple as this device is and how it expands the capabilities of bike modifications, I'm surprised it doesn't get more attention! Thank you for the demo. I guess the accessories don't turn on unless the battery voltage is reading over 12.6v as the necessary base power just for keeping the bike running. Might be on and off through city traffic and lights but on long stretches should stay on consistently since the battery would be charged over 13v. Ride safe!

    Great video, I was wondering how those boxes work. Thanks 😊

    I found this very helpful ,,I used your thunder box suggestion ,,thx also used SAE with fuse another great idea,,, the only question I have is what fuse to use ,, red 10 ,blue 15, yellow 20, or white 25. thank you

      Glad you found it helpful. I'm using a 15 amp fuse as the things I have connected don't draw much power. But your application may be different. You need to add up the total amount of watts your devices are using and divide that by 12 which will give you your amps. For instance. If I have devices adding up to 125 watts of power, divide that by 12volts and I'm pulling 10.4 amps. So a 15 amp fuse is fine. Also you want to make sure you are using the proper gauge wiring for that amount of amperage as well.

    This is a cool system and I would like to utilize it to power a GPS and some fog lights. The only issue is controlling something like lights now they’re always on when the bikes on where is maybe you don’t want it on during the day so I’m assuming it’s not switchable?

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  7 днів тому

      Correct. They will come on when the bike is running. However you can always put a switch in between the circuit so you can turn it off whatever accessory on your own. It will still work the same and shut off when the bike is off. But you will also be able to turn it off manually with a switch

    Thanks for very clear explanations for wiring accessories. I might buy a Thunderbox, but at the moment I just want to hook up some fog lights I purchased. They include a wiring harness that has a relay box built-in. Would you be able to tell me what the relay does? I'm wondering if it takes the place of a switched circuit. Love that Triumph Tiger 900. I test rode one earlier this year and was very impressed. Unfortunately too tall for me. :(

      Thanks. A really basically is used as a switch so that you can use to turn on something that takes a larger load. Instead of running full power and thicker gauge wires to a switch and then to the device, I relay can be used with smaller gauge wires to tap into something that is lower current. When it receives current, it then sends the current through the larger gauge wires to the device that needs more power. This video will help explain it better than I can ua-cam.com/video/Ca20ktPygY8/v-deo.html

    What if you have the thunderbox and a trickle charger for the battery? will the thunderbox detect as if the engine was turned on and feed the accessories?

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  4 місяці тому +3

      No, because a trickle charger is a low current trickle charge which is also at a lower voltage unlike when your bike or car is running and charging it at higher voltage/amperage. The thing is actually pretty smart how it detects when to turn on and off.

    Hi, There is a white colour wire. What it is for?

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  3 місяці тому +2

      You can use that to connect to switched power so it turns on the accessories as soon as the switched power is turned on. Otherwise it doesn't power on the accessories until once the engine is started and running. So it gives you options depending on how you want it to work
