Ben is such a monster on acoustic! And obviously he kills it on electric too, but other players narrow down when they play acoustic. It seems like Ben is in the minority that is more fluent in acoustic style, and he unlocks his full potential when picking up an acoustic guitar. Great player. The guitars are cool too 😂
As an Ibanez fan and an owner of a Fender Malibu, this is the only dreadnaught guitar that appeals to me :) Really love their Ibanezy take on the Fender California series!
I agree. I think it projected much more and had a more balanced tone overall and better midrange articulation. The burst finished sounded less distinct acoustically but that may benefit the amped up side of things as far as the pick up goes.
For those of us who actually want an acoustic that plays like our electric - these will be a godsend! Also - the 'compact dreadnought' body should reduce a bit of the 'boominess' of a full sized dreadnought and give a slightly better balanced sound! And now I'm really spoilt for choce because, having switched back and forth between the sound demos, It's very hard to hear any difference - so do I go with the doom burst finish because it matches my Walden - or do I go with the open-pore model because I also like natural finishes...? Where I am - the price difference is about $200... which isn't irrelevant - but damn, that burst looks good!
Can someone let me know what and why the metallic nail varnish? Does it help with nails breaking when chicken picking? I have issues with this myself and am intrigued
The tone just seems to lack a resonance and oopmh on all of them. Ibanez headstock on an acoustic looks a little odd; drunken soundhole looks more than a little odd. Quite liked the look of the doom burst though.
Great playing skills, but I don't like the sound of that guitar, really cheap nasty piezo sound. Making an acoustic guitar sound 'a bit like' an electric guitar just doesn't make sense. The whole point of an acoustic is the sound, and the fact it is completely different to an electric. Something like a Tanglewood super-folk acoustic is perfect, as it has a narrow neck (like an electric), a good cutaway to get right up the fretboard, but they have a really nice acoustic sound. AND they are very cheap ! This Ibanez sounds awful to me.
Though I seriously like the looks of the burst guitars, (like plain wood as well, but Ibanez really missed the hit with that ugly pickguard), the sound did not convince me. I find them to sound a little ... cheap
No, not the same, but something similar: It is a Ibanez headstock, not Fender... 🤣 and I understand, that these companies want to give their acoustic guitars also their specific headstock for the visibility and uniqueness of their products... 😉
I don't own either or plan on it because I have a nice Breedlove, but I like both of them. It's a good thing that they're still willing to try new stuff or we'd all be playing the same 4-5 instruments. Neither of them are making it a standard for their acoustic ranges so I don't see the problem. It's purely aesthetic like if they didn't release the color you wanted.
In my opinion Ibanez are like Honda’s. Great guitars and definitely reliable and worth it but utterly boring and just like the millions of other Hondas on the road.
That intro is probably the best on the channel.
Wow, I love Ben's playing! That opening was simply awesome! 😎

Yep, he doesn’t rely on big bends and that translates well to acoustic guitar.

Yeah i have a Fender Newporter Classic and i love it. Plays so nicely
We want to see this guy more often on Andertons TV.
One of my fave opening jams by Ben! The Sapele one sounds distinct and is my pick of the two, even though I love the Doom Burst.

Ben, you have the best laugh! Your speed and control are unparalleled...
Came here to check out this guitar model and got a concert...Awesome!
Wow..ibanez acoustic with that headstock. Fresh and interesting. Awesome as always, Ben 👍
I definitely dig it. Metal acoustic! :D
Jeez that intro is immense. Great work Ben!

Opening was full on Monte Montgomery. Excellent.
I’ve been intrigued by these since they were released, mostly to be a stage guitar.
Hey now, it's an Altstar, get a gig on, get paid 🎶
Finish ain't glittery gold, but Ibanez guitars break the mould 🎶
Thank you goodnight
We need a stinger similar to Digital John but an orchestral version for Acoustic Ben or Analogue Ben
the open pore Sapele sounds best IMO, but they both sound great
Ben could make a wood plank with strings on it sound amazing
Sound much better than the fender equivalent
Great demo.Thank you
It is not about the guitar,it is about who plays it ❤❤️🔥👑😎
If any 80s hair metal bands are touring the UK, Ben is available to sit in on the ballads 😁
geez man, that playing will sell any guitar
The old-timey logo on the RG headstock is hilarious
Easily up there with the best of the best is Ben. Love those acoustics also
Carried away....But I say Ibenez is a constant as my late cousin Jerry... something you can count on...
Personally I think I prefer the tone from the Sapele one.
I didn’t realize Ibanez made such nice sounding acoustics
Awesome ❤
That outro had some honk!
More vids with this guy for shure
The great Ben Smith working his magic. 😎
holy shit that intro though !!!!!
Oooo...me wanty!
Why do guitar makers even bother with piezo pickups. They all sound buzzy and nothing like an acoustic guitar. Mic-based pickups sound so much better.
Not all.
WOW
Can someone let me know what and why the metallic nail varnish? Does it help with nails breaking when chicken picking? I have issues with this myself and am intrigued
What size amp is appropriate for this
I've been wondering what that ticking meter is keeping count of...awesomness meter maybe??
It's a decibel meter- to give ppl an idea of how loud things are.
@@stoneysdead689 Ahh, as I suspected. Thanks mate!

.I presume the guitars are constructed out of laminated wood.
Are the top back and sides laminated?
Nombre de la canción del comienzo?
Por cuestiones de copyright, estoy casi seguro que es una improvisación.
Improvisación?
Even Ben’s incredible playing cannot remedy that horrible piezo pick up.
Semper Fi
Great playing but God how I hate piezoelectric pickups and that tinny sound
The second sounds better but both guitars sound terrible to me. Thin and washy. I appreciate its made to be easy to play but it can't sound like that.

43 mm

This guy sounds a lot like Ricky Gervais
I think it's an excellent demo.
I couldn’t stand Fender Strat headstocks on Fender acoustics, and now Ibanez doing the same thing 🤷♂️
No, not the same, but something similar: It is a Ibanez headstock, not Fender... 🤣

Don't like the sound.
Great player playing a bad sounding guitar. Piezo is so bad. I wonder why they waste trees building these things.
I just put it thru Boss AD2 or Helix with IR.Plenty good enough.
In my opinion Ibanez are like Honda’s. Great guitars and definitely reliable and worth it but utterly boring and just like the millions of other Hondas on the road.
