Yeah, Pete. The quote’s from The Godfather. And I’m in the same boat. I was able to stay away from modding for a couple of months. Then Amazon Prime Day came along and I bought 2 Invicta Pro Divers for $50 each. Going to put new dials/hands/movements into the cases and repurpose the Invicta NH35’s into 2 new cases I’m going to buy. This never ends! 👍😁😉

That's crazy those were the hands my daughter picked for the Mil Love Datejust I built, but she decided to go with the Milgaus hands instead last minute. Very cool build, by the way.

Always fun to see you do mod video, and yeah the Orange doesn’t work for me. A full lume dial is great, but a whole black theme would also be fun. Kind of a stealth theme. Great video Pete.
You know what it is with the orange, I'm always trying to create that Rolex explorer 2 look. I just love black white orange on watches.
I have one black PVD watch, it's a Seiko something or another in their black/gold color scheme. I actually rather like it, the only problem is the clasp and a couple of spots on the bracelet have worn off spots. It still looks okay because the wear is 85% on the clasp, so people don't see it I only see it when I put the watch on/take it off.
But I've had the watch for so long I can't remember the year I got it, so I can't really complain too much everything wears out over time if you actually wear it.
I figure if it gets to the point I can't stand it, I'll just get a replacement strap in a black material and replace it. The case/dial/bezel all still look perfectly fine, the wear is all on the bracelet.

Black watches are tacky to me. Why? because after a while, ALL OF THEM (except for Sinns) will wear and show inconsistent finishes/chips/wear. Normal patina is attractive, black coatings being worn off, make the watch look tacky and cheap.
Oh man you're hurting me! I think PVD cases look so cool when they get worn and chipped! I tried to force some chips and stuff into a PVD case and I couldn't do it, and I'm talking with a knife and screwdriver. So I don't work about the finish anymore.
