And how cool to see a reaper enemy!! You can play as reaper in FF14, and it’s so much fun.
After being set on a rollercoaster of emotions and narative story beats that have enough volume by it self to be compared to an entire mainline final fantasy game, only to find out your like 20% through this game lol and what you witnessed is just one big long 20 hr prologue of act 1. is insane!! There is still SO MUCH MORE and it just ramps up the story even further. This game better earn GOTY, im not kidding.

I’m sure someone mentioned this in one of your streams already, but for 16 the English cast was actually prioritized and the Japanese cast was actually the dubbed version. For Remake and it’s trilogy, the Japanese cast voices first, meaning the English cast has to try and match up with the movement of the characters mouths, shorter explanations/translations of things, etc. which is also what the Japanese cast had to do for 16. They ended up learning quite a bit by making the English cast the priority from what I read, so I’m sure SE will take that knowledge onto future installments, but I doubt it will change the way Remake has been acted for it’s installments too much. It could, but we won’t know til later.

anyway, this scene is representation about embracing the shadow self in our unconscious level at carl jung psychology. Without accept it when it's got surfaced to conscious level it will go berserk and haywire. it's same as we deny ourself because it's don't fit our thinking about the ideal self .

There's only ONE thing I would change in the battle against Clive's Shadow. When the subs say "You are not Ifrit. I am", I would have put "You are not Ifrit" in a paragraph and "I am" in the following one, just to not "spoil" it ahead of time but have it appear at the exact moment he was saying it. Imo it would have had an even greater impact.
Aside from that, this may very well be my favorite fight in the whole game, for the FX, the VA, *the* *music* , and the depth of the meaning it carries.
