@aikighost The truth is i love both machines. To me the es1 has a great tight punchy sound with a little lo-fi fiz. The esx sounds rich and fat and adds quite a bit of life even to the most basic samples. I didnt plan to use the es1 on this video but i maxed the parts on the esx and needed some more samples......keeping both means i dont worry about sample space. I also have a Zoom ST224 and an old Akai rack. You can never have too many samplers!
Thanks for listening! I always run the samplers first in the chain to keep phrases tight. In this case i thought i might track stuff in later so a few bars of the ESX clock was fed into the multitracker to sync... then made the multitracker master clock with start/stop,using the original ESX tempo it "learnt". Iv had a x0xb0x 'rush' when slaved and the es1 dragged when slaved to the mc909 but with this technique im tight as a button!
That's why, I knew there was something else keeping this tight - your multitracker!. I remember using a Boss Multitrack recorder as master on an ESX and it really tightened it up. Now I use a Jomox X-Base as master on a Korg ES-1 which makes things nice and tight, you can see it in my vid 'French House Demo 1". Cheers mate
I' ve just finished watching all of your vids and let me tell you: You're doing an excellent job even with genres I wouldn' t usually listen to! I especially like that Hip Hop stuff you 're doing with the Korg ES. Brilliant stuff, really!
@pmsan29 ahhh you noticed too! Every sample came from a different place and had to be tuned by ear to each other which fried my brain.....and the acid line had to be tuned aswell to match the esx.No excuse i know, but it was very late at night :) This will be sorted in the edit i hope to do soon. Thanks for listening.
@Electromachines I was seriously considering getting sx1s and having one completely loaded with just minimal & glitchy percussion noises & loops. I do mostly minimal tech and IDM stuff.
Are you clocking the electribes from another source? Reason I ask is because I find the midi clock on them a bit loose and this track sounds tight. digging your stuff mate.
It's got that 80's sound from the beginning of the movie Driver, then it takes you to present age...great track!

Je te parle. Cool. Humble.
Tu as capté. Tu tues.
That roland MC in the back looks MASSIVE compared to these Electribes... I never realized quite how big they were!

Dat bAss.
Hey, impressive stuff!! I'm looking into buying either an ESX-1 or an EMX. What would you recommend starting with?
O fu*k ! Love it!
where did you get that bass guitar sound?
Hey did you ever redo that french house track?
hey man I read your comment on the forum, were you able to upgrade to SD just by changing the bay?
DA FUNK!
So how come you decided to keep the es1 as well as the esx1? Is there a big difference in how they sound?
