Watch Steve and guest co-host Joe Lurie welcome Danny Guillory (who you may already know) to dive deep into something he has been working passionately for the last several months to bring to you: managing applications in the enterprise. Hi, I'm Danny Guillory, a Senior Program Manager on the Microsoft Intune engineering team. And I'm Steve Thomas, a Security & Compliance Technical Specialist, currently focused on helping state & local governments secure, regulate, and protect information in the cloud. Each month, on Unpacking Endpoint Management, we tackle different topics, answer your questions live, and offer tips and tricks to help you optimize and simplify the way you manage your endpoints. We are passionate about creating a platform for honest and open conversation (bring on the tough questions!)-and we are excited to bring on guest speakers to share their experiences, challenges, triumphs, and best practices.

    Here's what's covered:
00 - Introductions
00 - How many features in terms of app management?
00 - What does it mean to manage apps?
00 - What is the process to request onboarding an app?
15 - As an Intune admin, I have an Intune Enterprise Application Management licence. Do I need a licence for all my users with Intune enrolled devices?
30 - Auto update available with Win32 app Supersedence now only applies for available assignment. When will the feature also be introduced for required assignments?
40 - When using Intune, how do you cleanup the failed application deployment notification on the dashboard for applications that are no longer valid for the target (computer/MDM-device), or the target no longer exists in the system. We find this has a lot of false positives and makes it hard to see when there is an actual error/problem.
45 - Will we have an Intune filter moving forwards that can target ARM architecture for app deployments? A filter for desktop vs. laptop devices would also be very welcome!
35 - We can convert and deploy Appv packages as MSIX, but in my environment we have lot of AppV apps. Any chance AppV will be added in Line of Business apps?
40 - We would expect the app assignment to assume management of existing installations, right?
30 - Currently you cannot supersede dependencies. This prevents you from being able to leverage the new feature to automatically upgrade available apps via supersedence if the app you need to update is a dependency. Any update on if/when we will be able to supersede dependencies so that we can leverage the auto update feature for available apps against dependencies?
00 - We have several win32 apps available in the WinGet repository. EAM is not using that and has a different storage repository. Will that mean that the WinGet repository will not be updated with new apps in the future?
50 - What about individual hardware apps like those that help with webcams, etc.? Do we need to submit each and every one for consideration?
50 - Any possibility of having a repair option in the Company Portal with custom command line configuration in Intune?
40 - You keep mentioning "the list" - how do I know if my apps are already included?
35 - Is there any plan to increase the maximum number of superseded apps from 10 in the Win 32 App model?
