dagmar977 Domi is not new generation. I mean he's 26 and Sascha 20. He has a lot of experience and playing a grand slam or getting further in a gs is something he got used to. I think he of course doesn’t belong to the generation of the big 3 but also not to Zverev's generation.

What makes me happy from this match is not the winner, is to see this high quality in a match that does not involve any of the big three. We already saw some fantastic duels in London last year, and so far they keep the level. I can't wait to see the rest of the year
Thiem has just matured so much in the past 18 months. Back then he mentally was not as strong as he is now (tiebreak king) and had a strange shot selection on hardcourts (but now is close to perfection). I think he´s ready to win major titles. But also Sasha Zverev looked good in the AO after a difficult 2019. It´s just not yet his time.
The point is shot selection, exactly. Check the ATP finals ad well. He goes for big forehands and backhands down the line a lot of times, a high risk shot on clay (his preferred surface) but an excellent selection on hard courts. Helped him beat Djokovic already just a couple of months ago. I'm not sure if it will take him there tomorrow but surely he has a chance, mentally as well.

Dominic is one of the coolest guys on Tour right now. Made the best season in his career last year, seems very eager to surpass it this year. I like that. Today he showed nothing like the level against Rafa, but he still won a real tough four-setter. I like that, too. My Sunday hopes go for a terrific final with drama and hot rallies galore; couldn't care less who wins and who loses. As for the Namesake, excellent tournament for him. He seems to be getting the Major's number. If he continues like that, much better things than semifinals will surely come.

Thiem - is new rising start who will take over from Feds, Nads and Djoks. They way he hit (execute) the ball (with all his power) I have never seeing any player do this apart Rafa's forehand up to 2010/11. I think this boy will come close to these 3 boys ! Well done to him. Hope he wins on sunday !
Zverev’s gotten so much better with his volleys and that adds a bit of variety to his game which he’s been lacking for a while. He’s now finishing much more point at the net. if he continues to do this, he’s going to be a dangerous opponent. I can see Thiem, Zverev, tsipsipas, Kyrgios, Medvedev, Khackanov or Rublev winning a slam this year. I think this is their year. I also believe Thiem is going to win this year’s/2020 Australia open.
Thiem's tenacity has been excellent. First against Rafa, now against Zverev. Tenacity will not work on Nole though I think cause Nole looks far too fresh and his skills are unmatched at present. Thiem will have to out blast Nole if he wants a chance to win, Not letting Nole to even touch or return well the ball. High risk yet high gain. A gamble! Note: To be fair I think Roger's skill is still matchable or even slightly higher in different departments, but physically much weaker nowadays. Can't last or run and push the body as long.

Thiem - is new rising start who will take over from Feds, Nads and Djoks. They way he hit (execute) the ball (with all his power) I have never seeing any player do this apart Rafa's forehand up to 2010/11. I think this boy will come close to these 3 boys ! Well done to him. Hope he wins on sunday !
Zverev’s gotten so much better with his volleys and that adds a bit of variety to his game which he’s been lacking for a while. He’s now finishing much more point at the net. if he continues to do this, he’s going to be a dangerous opponent. I can see Thiem, Zverev, tsipsipas, Kyrgios, Medvedev, Khackanov or Rublev winning a slam this year. I think this is their year. I also believe Thiem is going to win this year’s/2020 Australia open.
Thiem's tenacity has been excellent. First against Rafa, now against Zverev. Tenacity will not work on Nole though I think cause Nole looks far too fresh and his skills are unmatched at present. Thiem will have to out blast Nole if he wants a chance to win, Not letting Nole to even touch or return well the ball. High risk yet high gain. A gamble!
Note: To be fair I think Roger's skill is still matchable or even slightly higher in different departments, but physically much weaker nowadays. Can't last or run and push the body as long.
