As a formerly avid hiker from Appalachia, can confirm this happens. Had an albino cave ghoul steal the catalytic converter off my dad's truck one time, had to chase it off with a shovel. Also, probably my favorite experience seeing a movie in theaters was from this movie. At the first reveal of the monsters, everyone in the audience was audibly startled, but that's also when I found out some parent-of-the-year candidate had brought their toddler with them to this this. The very second that thing appeared on screen the kid just started sobbing uncontrollably. I probably missed the next 3-4 minutes of the movie due to the tears in my eyes from trying to stifle my laughter. Another great movie by this same director is Dog Soldiers. It's about werewolves!
Did you notice that the roads in Appalachia have UK markings? It was filmed about 30 minutes outside London if I recall, and one of the few technical gaffs in the film is that the road markings at the end weren't either painted over, or digitally corrected in post, so you get the UK broken lines rather than the double continuous lines of the US (IIRC)
As for that parent, what a ^&*&%$! What would make them think that taking a kid to a horror film was a good idea?
@@neilbiggs1353 I'll be damned, I've seen this movie a handful of times but I never caught that, good eye. I guess a big tell-tale sign it wasn't Appalachia (and especially not WV) is that they weren't swerving every 30 feet to avoid potholes the size of impact craters and that the gravel road wasn't half washed-out. As for the parent thing, your guess is as good as mine. I can't imagine. The first movie my parents ever took me to was Ghostbusters II when I was about 4, and I had to look away anytime Vigo was on the screen. I absolutely could not fathom having seen this at that age.
@@avtomatt554 I think it might have been the director's commentary that talked about the road markings, and it's only in that one scene at the end with the truck going past, so it is easy to miss - I still don't think I'd have noticed as those markings are normal to me, it wouldn't occur to me that they aren't the US style ones until someone said it. I enjoy Neil Marshall's commentary tracks as he comes across as pretty down to earth. He directed the Battle Of The Blackwater in Game Of Thrones and he was gleeful about a happy accident when he had a pool of blood flowing towards the water! I hope he gets another shot at a blockbuster, his Hellboy movie wasn't good, but I feel like he still deserves a chance to show what he can do with a big budget. That said, I won't be disappointed if he keeps working on low budget films and TV as he clearly has a gift for getting a lot done with not much.
As for the kid? There are times when it seems like parents are either oblivious or selfish. In this case, I'd say that the person thought they could watch it and the kid would amuse themselves rather than look at the screen, so they didn't need to get a sitter. I'd have been furious if that had been at a screening I was in (or maybe not as this is not a dialogue heavy movie). I know in the UK cinemas used to be very careful about who could watch a film, you couldn't bring kids in with you if the film wasn't rated PG or below, but now we have multiplexes, you often don't get that same kind of care and attention from the staff. Is (or was) it the case in the US that parents could bring kids in to any screening? I could see it being either way to be honest. You've got the personal choice and freedom argument, but at the same time, the US is pretty restrictive on ratings for certain types of content
"Cave ghoul"? Bruh💀💀😂😂
@@avtomatt554 It was supposed to be WNC, not WV. Your point still stands, though. I like it when movies are filmed and/or set in my area. I think the last big movie filmed around here was "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" in Sylva, NC (I have some behind the scenes shots of that one), and the last TV show was "The Peripheral" in Marshall, NC.
The lighter wasn’t for light, she was checking air currents. Depending on the atmospheric pressure outside, air will either flow in or out. Regardless, airflow indicates a route that connects to the surface. The old saying is “if it blows, it goes”
The ending!
"The film ends on a bittersweet note, as Sarah is alive and free, but irreversibly shaken. However, in the UK ending, after Sarah has the vision of Juno in the car, the screen cuts to black momentarily. Then, Sarah is revealed to still be underground, in a confined section of the cave system with no escape routes."
Kat low-key being a motivational spelunking coach for 30 minutes.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but this is the "edited for Americans" version, where they chopped off the last thirty seconds. After the jump scare in the truck, Sarah wakes up and is still in the cave, thinking she sees her daughter holding a birthday cake, which is just the flickering light of the torch lying in front of her. The camera pulls back and she's on a ledge in the middle of nowhere, and the sounds of the creatures are growing louder. Apparently the US distributors thought that was too depressing and cut it.
I'm American, and I've apparrently never seen the US edit 😂 all I've ever seen is the UK edit.
11:21 - “You’re out of the friend group.” 😂- Girl I have never laughed so hard for so long in my life, thank you Kat, I needed that.
"These are orcs. We're all thinkin' it." Your reactions are fantastic.
I think those things are wendigo
Thralls I'd wager
They’re just feral cave people. This is very similar, though a lot scarier than H. P. Lovecraft’s The Beast in The Cave. Very cool short story.
Not sure if you caught it, but another reason she hurt Juno other than leaving Beth to die was because she realized she was having an affair with her husband (Beth says the necklace is ‘from Paul’ before Sarah smashes her head in) hence the weird looks in the beginning, his distracted driving, the necklace that said ‘love each day’, which Sarah said was something Paul used to say a lot.
I love how much Neil Marshall respects the audience to put it together, though I do wonder if it is a good idea in a horror film as people have a habit of looking away at points when it gets gory!
Paul also gave exactly the same necklace to Sarah as a very intimate gift, signalling that Juno and Paul's relationship was apparently very serious and probably quite long-standing, possibly throughout the birth of Sarah's daughter. That really puts Juno well into unforgivable territory; continuing to pursue your best friend's husband while the two of them are conceiving and raising a small child, and never coming clean about it, even after the collision? Wow.
The duplicate necklaces was also a pretty low move on Paul's part, so Sarah may have dodged a bit of a bullet in the midst of the crap tornado that destroyed her life, but Paul's quality isn't the main subject, so I'll let it lie.
@@michaelccozens i mean telling your "friend" that you slep with her husband after she loses said husband and their child is not the move. Better to just quietly leave the friend group at that point maybe.
Also the fact that Juno is basically the reason all the others are dead. She led them into an undiscovered cave which is a total wrong move.
I really enjoy your reactions.
I think you missed the part where she hated Juno and stabbed her in the leg for not only leaving her other friend to die but she found out during the movie that she was having an affair with her husband so it was kind of personal for her at the end.
And the affair is why he was distracted in the beginning and crashed the car, killing himself and their child and destroying her life and sanity.
(Sentence structure was intentional.)
@@Deathbird_Mitch YUP! The effects and layers of life unfortunately.
No excuse. that makes her a murderer in my eyes and her ending as the final girl getting stuck there to die was perfect and no I don't care for the sequel and just about nobody else does either🤙
Stop justifying murder. Juno, for all her faults, never murdered someone.
@@WillsonT011 It's a movie, time to get a bit of a grip. Most people with a few brain cells to rub together can separate films from real life.
Real life? No excuse.
Movie? Juno directly took a life being reckless, killed all her friends by lying and taking them to an unexplored cave in a move that is utterly unforgivable and disgusting, had an affair, didn't even come clean and continued to pretend to be her friend . . . . . In film terms, perfect ending for Juno. No crying needed for someone like that.
The affair is hinted at so subtly that it is very easy to completely miss it amid all the chaos, don't blame yourself not catching it.also the ending you saw was the non bleak ending.
I wondered which ending it would be
@@yvonnesanders4308 The real one is better.
The way the director originally wanted the film to end, as it does in the UK version, was with Sarah still hopelessly trapped in the cave, her escape being a delusion. After test screenings however it was deemed too bleak for US audiences and it was cut. For me this is definitely one of the scariest films ever. Up there with Hereditary, REC, and maybe the original Conjuring film.
Such a shame
This ending also allowed them to make the sub par The Descent 2, and its ending was seemly an attempt to make another horror film series like Friday the 13th etc but was poorly received and did not make much profit and they dropped the idea.
Technically the bleaker original ending wasn't 'cut', it was simply replaced for western audiences. Both versions of the ending still exist and are watchable. This ending I guess is 'officially' cannon, simply because of The Descent 2, but if you don't care about that movie, the original is still perfectly viable. They each have their pluses and minuses. I must admit, I really enjoyed seeing that Juno survived being left behind, and let her have a redemption arc, but that is me.
I got the bleak ending in Sweden and it’s darn bleak. This is almost the most scary film I have seen
Thank you, I was confused at the way this ended as I'd seen the original, bleak, ebding and wondered what was going on.
This movie is the reason I don't eat snacks while watching horror or thriller movies anymore. That first real jump scare where the Orc is standing behind the girl when the night vision camera pans back... It startled me mid-swallow and I inhaled my Doritos. My dad had to give me the Heimlich maneuver. I usually refer to the movie as "The Movie That Almost Killed Me", even though it wasn't quite that serious.
I hope you'll consider reacting to The Descent 2. I like to watch them back to back when the mood strikes. I love your channel. Your reactions are so much fun!
OH MY GOODNESS BUBBLY that is so scary!!! Scarier even than the Orc reveal!! This is actually probably a good warning not to eat while I watch them... I tried drinking water in the first few, but it got to the point where I thought I might spit it out all over my computer. Thank you VERY MUCH FOR BEING HERE!! I am so happy you're enjoying the channel and my videos!!! YAAAYY!!! See you around soon:D Kat
@@KatWatchesHorror Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top, don't watch the "The Descent was a surprise success, so we're doing a really stupid follow-up 'cause money talks, baby!" sequel. More than ten years later I'm still trying to put it out of my head. Remember, you can watch a whole lot, but you can never unwatch a stinker. ^^
@@DonDiego1973 Agreed! NO Sequal of this should be watched! you simple dont make a sequal to this movie!
One of my favorite horror films. A cast of characters with backstories in a horrific, creepy scenario.
1 movie she needs to react to (or anyone) is “Vacancy” with Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale
11:35 - very impressed you can speak in the creature tongue even before being introduced to them!
That or Kayako's.
I am truly loving your reactions. For so many reasons. The nervous laughter, the exasperated looks to camera, the comedic sarcasm, the way you put your hands on the side of your head like little cat ears when you get really tense.. All just amazing. But I think my favorite is the way you say please. It's adorable. And I always look forward to finding out what the true horror of the movie will be. I hope you never become jaded and bored with this genre.
Seriously! She's iconic. Couldn't bell sub fast enough
She's got an enormous list of movies to watch. She's going to be around a long time. She makes us all so happy watching people die.😂😂
This is probably the most stressful horror movie ever. And it feels empowering when you finish it like you just climbed through caves
I think my favorite thing about these videos is kat coming up with much worse scenarios of what's going to happen than what what's actually happening at that moment
Her second channel will probably be 'KatMakesHorrorMovies'. Can't wait.
One of a handful of movies that *really* scared me. The intense claustrophobia of caves--I would not go into a cave like this on a very large bet--put me way over the edge. Combine that with the tense group dynamics and what's waiting in the cave, and... Yeah. I yelped a few times in the theater.
Also: You are very quick to catch details, like "Something's not right in that marriage." Nice work.
I did this in the caves near Budapest back in 98. It was the most claustrophobic panic ive ever had, but truly no escape. One "section" was called the Sandwhich... the only way out was to shimmy on your back for 100ft through a cut in the bedrock, pure black.
I was down there for 3 hours, and will never do it again.
The part Sarah gets stuck actually scared me the most. Such a terrifying scenario to imagine.
Also missed opportunity: Kat watches the Descent in a cave
So she attacked Juno not just because Juno killed that other girl, but also she realized that Juno had an affair with her husband (that's why you noticed some tension in the beginning between the husband and Juno).
Why/How would their be tension between the husband and Juno? They were the ones having the affair together
@@nsasupporter7557 Sexual tension.
@@Kap00rwith2os gotcha
@@nsasupporter7557 Not tension, but obvious awkward-trying-to-be-casualness maybe? I mean, Beth twigged to it right away.
And she lied and brought them to an uncharted cave and was basically the reason everyone died.
This is one of my wife's favorite movies 🎥... she got bad anxiety watching it the first time with all the claustrophobic elements. 😵. Great reaction Kat!!! ..
I recommend “The Blob” remake from 1988! (Not the 1958 original). The remake is a terrific monster movie with great special effects and a lot of gruesome death. Great job Kat! I laugh so much watching your reactions that I look forward to it every Wednesday! Yep. I think the Blob is a good one for you. See ya!

I have to thank you for creating this channel. I'm way too big of a wimp to watch horror movies by myself, but with you, I can do it. 🥰
This makes me so happy!! Thank you so much for being here- wimps unite!!! KAT:D
SO GO FAST!!! Lmao that made me laugh! Also the "She's deadweight leave her there" Lmfao!! You're so freaking funny!!
17:19 The "tiny torch" is to show the direction of airflow.
This will probably be the cheapest movie you will watch for your channel, it was made for £3.5m! The caves and tunnels are all made from polystyrene blocks, rearranged and shot differently so you can't tell. Something I love is all the different ways they have of illuminating the scenes - torches, fire, flares, the night vision camera, glow-sticks, it keeps everything fresh but also makes sense with the situation in the story. The use of colour overall is brilliant, that shot of the blue eyes surrounded by blood is just fantastic. Neil Marshall directed some huge episodes of Game Of Thrones and you have to think his ability to maximise a budget played in to that.
Not sure how you've watched this, but the cast and director commentary was a lot of fun on the DVD, it had an anecdote where the Irish girl who broke her leg (Nora Jane Noone) had a prop head of her made for the film, and she had it in the fridge when her mum visited... It sounded like they had great chemistry off camera and it translated to how well it came across on screen. It's really economical how it builds up their backstory, but for me it really works. In terms of bringing stuff on screen, the cast didn't get to see the 'crawlers' until the scene itself to make the fear more organic!
Also on the economy side, possibly a negative with how some people miss it is the infidelity subplot between Juno and Sarah's husband. You only get very oblique mentions of it like Juno's necklace engraved with what he said to Sarah (Love Each Day). It's way Sarah lets the necklace hang so Juno can see it before stabbing her leg and leaving her to die - it was making sure she knew why, not just for the friend who was stabbed in the neck, but for the betrayal with the husband.
If you want to see another British low budget but very well made horror, 28 Days Later might be right up your street!
Fast zombies. 🧟♂️🧟♀️ Hell no.😂😂
I gotta say, Kat, I'm in the middle of a divorce from my cheating wife and watching your reactions these past few weeks have just made me still have hope in humanity. You're adorable and fun and sweet and the fact that you're watching all of these horror movies for us makes me... I'm not even sure, but definitely happy. Just keep it up. You're a beacon in a lot of people's shitty lives. 👍
Beat of luck. Not all partners are like that. You will find a better one, just keep going.
I'll never ever forget seeing this in theaters with my 2 female cousins. It's the only time I can clearly remember when everyone in the theater was scared. Popcorn was flying through the air. People were screaming then laughing. It was the best experience I can remember at the movies. ❤❤❤❤
Kat: What do you like about caving diving?
Me: I really love it when I find 2 or 3 mob spawners within range of each other so that I can a 3-spawner mob farm. Its even better when all the spawners have different mobs!
This one is a natural fear. Many movies recently failed with this. 42’ and the one with the skyscraper climbers. This embraced the horror
The lighter was used for testing wind direction with the flame.
32:22 I'm now imagining Kat navigating her everyday life with a bandolier of flares strapped across her chest at all times.
Kat must have fists of stone! Always ready to fight her fears! Great reaction! Cheers!
The beat for your intro is so PERFECT for a channel like this. It instantly sets the tone of, "We about to get into some scary shit." 😂😂
Get this: My parents used to take a bus to go to Atlantic City. The bus comes with a monitor that shows movies. Guess what movie played on a return trip? Yep a bunch of senior citizens were "treated" with "The Descent"! According to my mother the bus was driving in the dark and the interior of the bus was dark. Since most of the movie takes place in a dark cave, the monitor was mainly dark. The people in the bus couldn't see anything. They just heard the women screaming!
The European cut continues after the final scene to reveal that the entire escape was a hallucination.
I don’t like horror movies either, but it’s still fun to watch you react to them. “You’re out of the friend group!” Oh man that was funny.
The Descent touches on so many fears for me. Love your reaction. I jump, and scream every time you do!🤣 You make horror movies extra fun Kat.

This was a hoot. Somehow you are making these crazy movies both terrifying, as well as funny. To quote you, this does mean you are getting better at horror movies. Too bad we lost so many “casually gorgeous“ women. Lol
I literally don't even have to watch the movie on the screen to know what's happening, all I do is listen and then watch your expressions and your different boxing and karate hands, it's worth the price of admission.
You are without a doubt my favorite new movie.....reactor? Reactionist? Well you know. I hate the idea of laughing at your fear and pain.......but you're just so hilarious! I love your videos. Keep up the excellent work!
Its reactors. A reactor reacts. A reactionist is an even worse version of a conservative.
@@carlossaraiva8213 it was a joke but thank you anyway. I appreciate it.
Such a brilliant film. And for someone like me who is very claustrophobic, absolutely terrifying. I was already freaking out before the creatures even showed up lol.

Just discovered your channel. Super fun. The speed of your reactions from comments to fear to nervous laughter etc “I told you! I told you!” Ate incredible and hilariously awesome. Thanks for the reactions
Your narration made me flash back to that video of the dramatic kid whose kayak was sinking. "Oh nooo, Sarah! Ooooo Sar-ahhh nooooo. AHH! SARAHHH!"
This is one of my all time favorites and one of my first horror movies. I've watched it so many times. The cave people survive by eating animals that fall in the holes and they communicate with clicks. They come up at night to cover the holes with leaves and sticks. If desperate they will emerge and hunt for prey like deer at night time
The Descent, As Above So Below, Grave Encounters, Pandorum, and Thir13en Ghosts are some of my favorite horror movies so it’s good to see at least 1 of them get some love.
This film kinda came out of no where when it premiered, I saw it not knowing anything either. I expected a bear or wolves from the dead elk, but never expected… humanoid monsters! Good stuff you. It’s like you’re the tutorial of how to survive this movie.
I saw this when it first came out… while it was pretty freaky, the thing that was the most scary for me personally was that you cannot trust ANYONE! Because the main girl’s friend stole her husband from her
Definitely recommend looking up the extended ending.
That's not an extended version, that's the proper version of the movie. This is the shortned version for the USA market.
@@carlossaraiva8213 I called the other the True Ending version
Your cinematic torture is endlessly entertaining.
I've made a couple of suggestions here and there in the past, but I suddenly find myself needing to watch you react to Ravenous.
This movie was claustrophobia embodied! So intense once the creeper dudes show up and start hunting them! So many emotions. Great reaction, you were way into this one!
So, two things that are important:
1)The reason Sam crippled Juno was not just her killing her friend, but the necklace of Juno's was a gift from Paul, Sam's husband(who was having an affair with her). There were some hints, including his behaviour before the accident.
2)You watched the American ending. The true ending has the scene with "Ghost Juno"as a dream and then Sam sees her daughter with the birthday cake, as we saw in a few scenes throughout. We see its a hallucination as Sam has come to a dead end and we hear the crawlers approaching.
3)(Just a fun fact)The ladies were not allowed to see the Crawlers until their confrontation in the cave. There were a few scenes where the Crawlers were in the background or just out of sight and they knew they were around, but didn't know what they looked like.
I do enjoy your reaction to this movie and I never went cave diving. But you need to have a flame to find where the air is coming from to find a way out. Rambo taught me that lol. Plus, in cave diving though you have to make sure you do not run out of air so I do not know why they would use a flame to find out which way the air is flowing. For flames on a candle to a lighter eats oxygen and without oxygen you die.
Between this and Ted the Caver, I'm basically never going spelunking in any cave that doesn't have paths marked off with lights the whole way. This is a fun one to watch the behind-the-scenes about. They only had a few cave sets and managed to make it look like an infinite labyrinth with creative angles and changing the lighting.
"Orc, its whats for dinner" lol, okay that one got me..
I was trying to figure out why i kept saying please more often and different than normal hahaha its you haha another great one
HAHAHA. I LOVE THIS VERY MUCH. PLEASE!!!!!Kat:D
I personally have never spelunked explorer-style, but I have been on cave tours in England, includingthe Blue John Caverns in Castleton. Yes, it is this claustrophic and dank. No cannibals though, unless you count the Green Marble Pub in Glossop.
Juno was having an Affair with Sarah’s husband Paul. He gave Juno the necklace Beth had when Sarah found her and told her Juno hurt her (Beth) so you can see why Sarah did what she did…
Well, now that you’ve seen the Descent, you’ve gotta see more of director Neil Marshall’s movies.I recommend Dog Soldiers.Another horror movie that just popped into my mind that I think would be a good one for you to react to is In the Mouth of Madness,by John Carpenter. Thanks again for never failing to entertain me and lift me out of my headspace when I’m feeling negative or upset for some reason.
Welcome to horror, where your favorites always die hahaha. Another great reaction Kat!
Have watched several of your reaction videos. This one made you the most nerve racked of them all. Also, your vocabulary and comments reveal you are a very intelligent person. Your significant other is a very lucky individual. Keep up the great entertainment.
Also the other ending is my favorite after the jump scare in the car she wakes up still in the cave when she fell she was knocked out and dreamed she got out. It’s amazing
Found your channel by chance earlier today and really enjoying your reactions! Would definitely suggest that if you enjoyed The Descent, give Dog Soldiers a watch. It's the film that Neil Marshall wrote and directed before this and is one of my personal favourites.
I have to say Kat that I have been watching your reaction videos for about a month now and I just realized that I hadn’t subscribed yet. Well I fixed that. I absolutely love your reactions to the movies. I am a horror fanatic so to see you watch movies I have seen several times and own is delightful!! This movie is absolute favorite of mine and it does have a sequel. I did want to add at the end when she drops down the necklace it’s to show she knows about the affair as well as what happened to Lynn. Also just on the side, I wanted to recommend The Collector and The Collection! The Collector is first. Anyway girl, have a great day and see you on the next adventure!!
The Collector is one movie I literally cannot watch again. Not much scares me but something about that movie terrifies me.😱😱
@@oldeskoolnana7543 oh no, yeah it’s very intense. The second one is seriously good as well and picks up after Arkin so it’s Insane.
The Descent is seriously one of the most badass movies ever.
Hi Kat!🙂Your reactions are too funny!😀Like you're on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Two films I think you would enjoy are "The Ruins" (2008) and "Splinter" (2008). There is also a sequel to this film, "The Descent: Part 2" (2009). Great reactions to the unique thriller The Descent, Kat!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Saw a documentary years ago about spelunking. The reached a point where the section they were crawling through was so narrow the only way to get through it was to breath all the air out of their lungs, and then squeeze through. Making sure to not move to slow, and to not panic and get stuck, because then you’d die. also? If that happened, people would be stuck on their side if they couldn’t get your body unwedged. And I wanted to scream at the tv “Why would you ever do this?!! This is not fun!!”
ITS THE HAND MOVEMENTS TO ME
lol, the doll in the background to the right is way more terrifying then the movie.. love the reaction, in new but definitely going to sub. great job.
Hey, Kat! Great selection! Not everybody gets this movie on the first pass.
I first saw "The Descent" in a theater and have seen it many times since! It's one of my favorite recent horror movies.
Originally, this film was a sensation on the festival circuit before shocking indie arthouse crowds!
A lot of people miss the brief exchange of looks between Juno and Sara's hubby at the raft which Beth notices. The implication is that Juno is having an affair with Sara's husband!
The atmospheric lighting, the claustrophobic setting and the character development are what make this film work so well.
The unspoken mistrust between the girlfriends, Sara's psychological trauma and the survival drama of a cave-in in an unmapped subterranean environment all blend to create a layered screenplay that is fraught with tension even before the ghouls appear!
The creature design is amazing. Their origin as a devolved offshoot of humanity is shrouded in mystery. The rules of the hunt are quickly established. The gore, saliva and excrement are beyond disgusting. Watching the ladies become as savage as their predators is a wicked delight!
Sara, already fragile going in, snaps early on but it gives her lucidity and she adapts to the new rules quickly becoming like Col. Kurtz in "Apocalypse Now". Encountering and mercy-killing Beth gives her a mission: revenge.
Juno is the best character. She is deeply flawed but well-meaning in her effort to make amends. She did cheat on her friend but had to grieve her lover's death in isolation. Her good-faith effort to reunite the gang with a grand adventure goes terribly awry because of her reckless choice to go off the beaten path without notifying local rangers. It's a fatal error in judgment to not put that decision to the group. Her murder of Beth is purely a horrific accident. Her abandonment of Beth is done out of shame, guilt and fear. Yet, Beth and Sara misinterpret the act as cold-blooded murder. I love the last image of her limping but defiant against impossible odds.
The death of the girls' friendship is as painful as any of their violent demises.
You see a female ghoul in the abbatoir/latrine lake! These critters obviously never heard you don't sh*t where you eat! Lol.
Unfortunately, you didn't see the preferable alternate UK ending. Sara doesn't get out but goes completely mad! After leaving Juno, she takes a spill and the escape sequence plays out as in the US version. However, after being shocked by the Juno revenant, she recovers from her spill still trapped underground unwinding her limbs just like one of the ghouls and fully immersed in a delusion that reunites her with her daughter. The camera pulls back to reveal her staring at the empty space occupied by her daughter in her mind. She is on a ledge in a huge cavern filled with ear-splitting howls. Will she become the new Queen of the Ghouls or will she eventually fall prey to one of the shrieking beasts? That's left for you to decide.
Director Neil Marshall previously did the werewolf movie "Dog Soldiers" and went on to direct "Doomsday", "Centurion", the comic-accurate "Hellboy" reboot and "The Reckoning" about 17th-century witch trials. He also helmed two major battle episodes on "Game of Thrones": The Battle of Blackwater Bay and The Siege of the Wall. Additionally, he directed the premieres of the incredible pirate show "Black Sails" and the time-travel show "Timeless".
A lot of good info here, some of which I didn't know. I would call the UK version the original ending, and the US version the alternate though.
There's a sequel to this. It's not as good, but shows what happened to Sarah. I'll leave it at that.
The sequel shouldn't exist. The original UK cut of the film is perfection and adding anything after the fact ruins it.
Why describe and spoil the true ending to her? Just tell her to watch it.
Very detailed review,Thanks
I was never claustrophobic until I watched this.
Also, the UK version has the directors chosen ending. Which is terrifying.
The most ironic thing with Kat is she would make the PERFECT Scream Queen; the very expressive attractive face and eyes, the tense body language, a scream that can bring down a building.
This is your calling, Kat, find an agent, lol.
Hats off to the production team - once they’re down there, those caves are sets! I would never have guessed
This is the reason I'm not a spelunker, and the fact I'm too old. Another great reaction video, Kat.
Okay Okay Okay! You win! I SUBBED!!!
I don't sub to very many channels, but after watching about 6 - 9 of your videos (in 24 hrs or so) ... Well, you win, I subbed! hehehe
You are very fun and I think you have a unique idea of watching scary movies IN scary places Like floating on the water (for Jaws) and the night woods (for the Blair Witch).
I'm probably subbed to hundreds upon hundreds of channels. 🤣😭
Your watching some gnarly ones for someone who hates horror. Haha. I would suggest some goofy 80s stuff to cleanse the palette if you get burnt out. Evil Dead 2, Re-Animator, Return of the Living Dead, Chopping Mall, and The Stuff.
Love your reactions!
I love the way you talk to the movie "bring snacks and water" you kill me lol.
I both love and hate this movie. On the one hand, it has top-notch suspense and special effects. On the other hand, I have claustrophobia, and the monsters have given me nightmares.
Your commentary makes it a lot easier for me to watch.
If I was ever in a scary & dangerous situation, I would want to have Kat with me. She may be screaming in terror, but she’d also be beating the crap out of anything that was out to get us!
i just love watching your reactions!! you are soooo funny!!! and you have done two of my favorite movies, reactions with Halloween and the descent!
This was great. Your reactions are always a weekly highlight. Enjoy the holidays Kat. Thanks for sharing your content / reactions during the year
"She's dead weight, leave her there. I'm kidding! I'm kidding! 😐😐" LOLOLOL
Wow I love watching your videos. You QUICKLY shot up my list of favorite YT channels!! Only vid I haven’t watched is for Barbarian & only bcuz I’ve yet to watch that movie 🤷🏻♂️🫶🏼
Kody!! That really makes my day!!! Thank you thank you thank you for saying that. It makes me so happy to hear you're enjoying them. Barbarian was INSANE. Truly the only movie I legitimately almost turned off. GOOD LUCK WITH IT and see you around soon!!!Kat:D
I will not deny how terrifying I found this film when I first watched it. Especially because many creatures quite similar have been captured on video all over the world. They are called Rakes or Wendigos. Careful in the woods, mountains and the plains folks. They like to mimic sounds of babies, adults and animals, usually in some pain or yelling for help. Run if you hear it. Run like the dickens. They look quite similar. I get your attempts at tensing your fear into seizure like holds. It’s like “hey hand. Hey arms. Take this FEAR so my heart can keep pumping.”
Kat, a superb reaction to this claustrophobic chiller.
I'm loving your reactions, but I wish you gave us a summary at the end of your movies on what you liked or disliked about these movies.
Another excellent reaction.
I would like to recommend the following:
1408
Event Horizon
Nope
The Cube
Smile
The Grudge (Or Ju-On as the original Japanese version)
They (2002)
The Midnight Meat Train
VHS
VHS 2
Krampus
Enjoy!
"A headlamp a flashlight and a lighter!?" 😆 🤣
'Setting them on fire seems a good strategy. I bet they don't like that!!' 😂😂😂
Zomg your expressions are the best! 🤣
Ok after binging a bunch of your videos, Now you have to step it up. Watch these horror movies with your back to a window... at night!
There's a pretty delightful behind the scenes video of some of the stunt performers who played the creatures in full costume and makeup singing acapella...😊
thank you so much for doing this to yourself for our entertainment....and it is very entertaining!
Thanks for another great reaction kat, love from Australia 🇦🇺
5:08 Love the look!
Dang Kat, just had a random video show up on my feed; watched, subscribed and have been binging since! For a self proclaimed horror novice and disliker of horror, you are seriously hitting some double black diamond terrain right out of the gate! Well done!
It's really cool Jessica Chastain has a humble UA-cam channel. Loved you in interstellar 💯🤙 keep up the movie reactions.
Just a short comedy sketch about white water rafting ua-cam.com/video/sHwKFFuk3q8/v-deo.html appropriate to the opening scene. OMG "don't forget to bring snacks and water", love it. Also spelunking and diving you should always carry a knife, but in a cave I think a lantern with a crank generator would be good.
Can't remember if I've already suggested these but Return of the Living Dead (1985) and John Carpenter's They Live. Whatever you watch I love your reactions and will keep coming back. Thanks so much for the videos.
There are very few Christmas horror films.
"Hardware" is one of them.
