I know what that thing is in Drangleic Castle, its Nashandra BDSM dungeon you know those forbidden goth gf's from the abyss are into some freaky stuff.
You're intended to summon for frigid outskirts, the iron passage, cave of the dead, and the memory of the old iron king. That's why they have those weird stones at the start of each area. You can summon from before the dlc key doors to there which allowed people without the DLC to try it by helping others. I still wouldn't do it for the memory of the old iron king because alonne is way more fun solo than in a group but the other bosses at the end of the coop areas are just reskins of stuff you've already fought. I wouldn't say it saves these areas but I actually found them pretty fun with this in mind, since I don't usually summon.
@@gussieawesome2763 I think everyone agrees the coop areas are bullshit so brute forcing it with like 2-3 npc summons makes it less tedious at the very least. I still don't entirely disagree that they're the worst areas in the game but I do think it's worth noting that going solo is probably not intended.
Great video as always! I'm really loving the area ranking series. Also, I find it super interesting to hear opinions that are completely different from my own. For instance, I LOVE the gutter. There are so many hidden nooks and crannies and so much to explore and lighting the sconces gives me a sense of progression that I get from few other areas. I love looking around and seeing all the flames shining through the darkness. Fun fact: If you light every single sconce, an npc invader will spawn that you can kill for a unique headpiece. I actually really enjoyed leaving the npc invaders in the area alive and just going through the level as normal while never knowing if one of the invaders could lurk behind the next corner. However, I do understand why others would not enjoy the Gutter nearly as much as I do.
Shrine of Amana is absolutely brutal. Homing spells coming from multiple directions, beastly Hippos, multiple ganks, and a DragonRider for good measure -- stuff of nightmares. I'd personally put "No Man's Wharf" and the "Lost Bastille" in the top 5, but I really like your list all the same. Frozen Eleum Loyce can be a bit annoying, but the level design and bosses are top notch. Awesome video, dude!!
This video is amazingly well made man! Loved the editing and the music. The difference between the worst and best map is honestly SHOCKING lmao. But this is seriously well made, great job! I don't know how to day this but there's something so unique about your video, they stand out compared to other "review" kind of videos. Super excited for the next installment in your series~ ✳
29:10 Here's a fun fact that happened to me in Dark Souls 3 when I first played it which was also my first Soulsborne too. A friend of mine recommended me to play it so I did, we played it somewhat together and at the high wall level, I got invaded by a player and my friend died to the invader. Me and the invader fought for a good couple minutes and he stopped after and dropped a bag that contained 99 EMBER AND 99 FOR EACH SOULS. I'm not joking, the invader left and I spawned my friend back so he coule check what was in the bag. Keep in mind, this was my first Soulsborne game so I didn't know how LUCKY I was to receive that drop and my friend freaked out when he saw it and said, "BRO! YOU'RE SET FOR THE WHOLE GAME!" That's a moment I'll never forget and every time I think back on it, I can't help but laugh.
I honestly love Shrine of Amana, and it is my favorite area in the entire series. First of all, it feels very unique, but in a good way. I really like the gimmick where the area is designed to punish players who run past everything. I’ve heard that the enemies are spammed, but it seems to me like they were carefully placed to make the area as fun and fair as possible. Admittedly, the third part is a little annoying, but you can easily just run right by. The mages are amazingly designed mage enemies. Their magic can easily be strafed, but you have to be paying attention, which adds complexity to fighting the melee enemies, which feel like a threat, but aren’t too oppressive when combined with magic. Also, to not miss the dro-off points for the water, you pretty much have to be blind, or unaware of their existence. I love the second part so much, I intentionally didn’t hit the third bonfire. I also joined covenant of champions the first time I despawned an enemy in part two. Also, it looks so beautiful.
Totally agree. I love Iron Keep for similar reasons. People call these zones tedious but I enjoy the complexity of dealing with enemies that actually obstruct your path rather than being easily ran past like most levels in the souls series.
What's fascinating is how they just chose to not balance the co-op specific areas. Frigid Outskirts, Iron Passage and Cave of the Dead are solely balanced for co-op play (though even then they're still not good) So I appreciate that they tried something new in that regard, even if they're awful

I’ll be honest it’s kinda hard to quantify exactly why I do but I guess here’s some reasons The lore was definitely a big improvement from the first game imo I feel that the combat is about on par even with its clunkiness Although the areas can be downright awful at their worst, they can be fantastic at best and better than the best of ds1 in my eyes The individual level design has improved in my opinion I like the experimentation they did Other than those reasons I guess I just enjoy playing ds2 more, but I respect your opinion if you disagree

My reason is that it was the only souls game available on pc for a while.
