I enjoy cruisers and I DONT want the Jacksonville, but then again I don’t want Super Ships at all. I feel that the way they are implemented in this game is horseshit.

Out of all super ships I have to say there is nothing like the EDGAR. Granted it has only AP, but his "funny" button is a heavy hitter, you can pepper the enemy into oblivion.
if they fix the aiming system then i think they should add effects from wave's aswell, it's not flat ground. other ships create waves aswell as stopping and starting should have an effect on aim aswell. fun video! :)
Ive retrained Bull Halsey for this ship, most superships, nah, not interested in playing often, Jacksonville is insane. As a light cruiser/DD main, Im in love with this broken ship. What you discussed about the power creep, thats just WeeGee being poor game devs. They have no clue how to balance the game, they dont manage player expectations, their buffs and nerfs they implement are in general token at best. Their only way that seems to have easy effect, is introduce another stupid OP ship to counter the previous one(s). And make running them expensive.
I've dealt with this thing, and on one game, it was a Jacksonville div with a gearing, we got absolutely destroyed, I was in a Conde so it wasn't fun at all
I have always wondered why modules have a mk1,2,3 editions to it when they cant be slotted universally. An interesting idea could be playing around with those modules. Like what if you are able to slot a lot of modules in every slot once. Depending on the slot tier you have that module but much stronger or weaker then the other variants. We have a lot of "platforms" in the game but some just are more average then others. This way you can have more variation when it comes to gameplay and balancing depending on what you slot on it.
so just a question for anyone who wants to answer. i just came back to the game ( did like 3 matches and had fun) and was just wondering what the best tech trees for me to go up are? i was in the process of going for des moines and am at new orleans so as you can tell i havent played the game a ton. whats the best battleship and cruiser to go for as a noob?
I think the DM is a great pick for your cruiser, great guns, good armor, good utility. For a BB, with the very passive meta, I would say pick something with good guns? The brawling type BBs are great WHEN you can get them into place, but most of the time you just burn/flood down as you push in. There are alot of options now. One thing you might try, is wait until they announce the next public test server, and you can try any tech tree ship you want for free. PTS comes up every 3-4 weeks I think. Youll need to download it through the game launcher. Just watch for announcements.
in my opinion, i would go up the German BB line to the Schlieffen, the US CA line to the DesMoines, and the IJN DD line to the Shimakaze. these lines will be helpful in completing missions along the way. as you get further into the game you can start to see what missions you have a hard time completing and look at the different lines to see what will help you out even more.
In general the American line isn't bad for everything except DDs, and their DDs can be rather difficult to play early on because they are gunboats. Their cruisers teach you about the importance of islands, and their Battleships while slow, are alright for newer players. If you want an alternative nation, the French cruisers are rather nice, and their BBs can be a lot of fun. Japanese Battleships and Battle Cruisers are both solid lines, their DD lines are also both rather nice. Left side is torp boats, right side from T8 and up are gunboats. In general though, play what looks most interesting to you, the suggestions I gave you are more or less the "safe" choices, but basically every tech tree works if you can get on with the play style.
so nlg this is obiously super awesome to get in a ship, but how do you see this going forward PQ ? To me this is looking more and more like the prem ammo of WoT but id love to see your view
I shot a few Jax broadside yesterday in a Petro and Riga. 0 cits in the midrange area. Hard to counter them, but I’m sure we will figure it out eventually. As a newer PC player (lot of PS4 legend time), I’m so far from getting any of the super ships. The grind is insane. Also if you haven’t done a video explaining the bureau in a while could you?
The aim assist is one of those things that remind you it's a video game. It _doesn't_ help bad players, it punishes those who can aim. It's much easier to "level the field" in a downward direction than trying to raise it.
@@j_taylor I don't think so. If you "look" somewhere else, the aim point will still move with the target. Even trying to lock on another ship takes a second sometimes.
@@peterhineinlegen4672 When I'm locked on a target and press 'x' that unlocks my target. At that point, I can aim and fire directly at the location rather than the ship. This is not often useful to me: only when I'm firing at a ship that's not visible or when I'm messing with the other player's Priority Target or Incoming Fire Alert counters, but it does work.
@@j_taylor the problem with shooting while not targeting a ship is that it has way worse dispersion than when targeting a ship. its almost useless except for blindfiring like you said
If WG does balance patches for a larger portion of their ships more frequently, I think it would be a lot better. Different ships will come in and out of meta and it encourages players to grind and try out new lines. Only thing is, WG probably does not want to put effort in that department.
Screw "grind" encouragement. Just encourage "Play". Nothing should feel like a 'grind', because you should be having fun, and earning your way towards what you want along the way.
I'm so conflicted. I can't decide between Maine, Conde, or Jax for my first T11. And I'm not exactly swimming in credits atm. Couple days ago it was definitely Conde, great ship. Then it was Maine cuz I'm a better BB player and US BBs are my favorite. Now this Jacksonville drops and I love some light cruiser play. Idk
In all honesty: What kind of AA would you consider better than "just okay"? Like that ship has literally among the best AA in the game, without using its Def AA. 6,9km range, 850 mid dps and 6 flak with high damage.
Better than just okay would probably be capable of killing a squadron of planes so they can't continue to drop you over and over. Which is to say, there aren't really any ships in the game with better than okay aa.
Can't afford any mistakes though. I caught one by surprise, or I knew he was thered. Fired once BOOM and guess what, Wisconsin also have a funny button. That's one way to get rid of Jacksonville. Which is rather annoying ship in the hand of skilled people. I won't get it, because I can wrap my head around how to survive a game and actually do damage. I feel like everybody is shooting at be in Worcester for example. Hopeless. Doesn't matter if I in enemy spawn or A10. They always find me.
23:00 you can't just have interesting ships imo The Sevastopol is super interesting, completely different style of heal, 380s on a cruiser, speed boost. But since it's "weak" no one cares about it or plays it. New ships have to be interesting and OP for WG to make money on them.
they need to make these high end special CMDRs work like premium ships and be able to put them on several TT ships at the same time. one for each class. us normal players can't afford to change the CMDR every time we play a different ship.
Whenever an enemy ship is within your standard detectability range. So yes, you can be in cover and it will still proc (This is the Top Grade Gunner skill).
Sorry PQ the aim assist does not pull your shells away from where you want it in general. Yes there are island bugs and sometimes it definitely feels like it wasn't locked on. But, your point of slowing down and turning out making enemies miss is not true. I can hit enemies when I predict them making that move. If you're locked onto a ship it helps your shells hit the ship where it was and where you led the shells at the moment you fired. When you feel like it makes your shells miss that is because the enemy is maneuvering. If the aim assist helped shells move mid flight then there would be no point to aiming or, maneuvering.
i agree, at this point i think it has become a coping tool for him when he misses by a little. also, he complains a lot about over pens on broadside CLs, but the same math behind that is what allows his BBs to overmatch so many ships armor schemes in the game. gotta take the good with the bad on that one.
I'm glad you brought this up. PQ talks about this bug a lot but I can't see it. I've just assumed he knows what's he talking about bc he is better than I am and knows the game well. But all I ever see is cruisers maneuvering well not an aim bug.
@@joedoe6444 And the Jacksonville is the perfect example of why overmatch is necessary in this game. A heavy HE lighthouse Jacksonville with Halsey confederate and 50% HP AR....is putting out a theoretical 750k HE DPM and 43 fires per minute. If a Jacksonville can angle and reduce the risk of taking massive AP salvos from BBs.....it's just not fair for battleships. It would make many cruisers completely over powered to significantly reduce the amount of damage they take when angled. The Jacksonville is a bit of an extreme example....but the principle already holds true for many cruisers already. Something like a Hindenburg (or even a Goliath) can already more or less 1v1 any BB without 30mm overmatch, and they have a tiny fraction of the DPM and fire starting of a Jacksonville. I know the counter claim to this is to say that HE needs to be nerfed alongside overmatch....but eventually you are just moving closer to a static game where ships can't do major damage to each other when angled and everyone just sits bow in all the time. Sometimes it's frustrating...but at the end of the day I think the fact that BBs can dev strike angled cruisers, and cruisers can melt down angled BBs....is ultimately a good thing. Maybe the balance can be adjusted here or there....but outside of the outliers....I don't think it's all that off right now.
Yea, need to de tune, "nerf" some of these OP ships or make every ship OP, in Fact its time for WG to buff the hell out of all the other ships so they can complete aginst these things.
