Buddy I have put days if not weeks of thought into buying this exact rifle for backup to PCPs. Granted I love my PCPs for obvious reasons but still this platform and it’s multi shot capability is just awesome. Strong enough to do pest control and accurate enough to do pest control with confidence my friend. Really digging this rifle. Thank you for doing a proper review on this platform. Thank you so much.

I didn't take your words for it; I bought one and tried it for myself. This is a great backyard gun. It's accurate, has enough power to get rid of some iguanas, beautiful wood stock, and such a joy to shoot. I didn't stick with the stock scope though, kinda blurry to me; so I got a Hawke scope in its place. Best part is: it likes the cheap pellets that I can get at Wally World, 500 for $6. I can shoot until my arms fall off from the 41lbs cocking effort. Love it.

Thank you for the great review . I did an impulse buy yesterday and picked up a Gen3i .
Put 100 pellets through it this morning. It was a quick trip out to sight it in . I only used the tail gate of my truck and my arm for a rest and I’m amazed at how tight the groups are. Can cover 6 shots with a quarter. I can’t wait to put it on a bench rest to really dial it in . It’s an Amazing out of the box gun and accuracy is great . Thank you for covering it.

I bought my Bone Collector the end of May this year. I don't shoot a lot but I have the gun out most days rubbing Old English Wood oil into the stock with a nice old soft white sock. I took off the scope it came with and put a Hammers 3-9x40AO on it and am happy with it. Just wish I had more time to shoot.

Looking to buy my first air rifle in 50 years and have been on the fence for the past month or so. After watching your Bone Collector review I ordered one yesterday. Shot a Sheridan silver streak growing up and at first was leaning towards something similar. After seeing your Benjamin multi-pump review I remembered all too well pumps 8, 9 and 10, hahaha. I'm a fit 64, and while I like the idea of variable pressure for stray dogs and such, and open sights for running rabbits, squirrels and trick shots, I think all things considered, the Bone Collector seems to be the practical choice.
Going to use it for plinking for fun with my son and have a new dog we rescued that wants to hunt.
It's a little more than what I was originally planning on spending but would rather go ahead and pull the trigger now than wondering later. Same reason I'm not starting off with a pcp. I'll see how much I use the break barrel and go from there. I'm 30 minutes from a town, probably an hour from someplace that would charge tanks..... so convenience weighs heavily.
Thanks for your reviews and keep up the good work.

Great review. I had such trouble with the .22 cal Whisper Swarm.
It is my opinion the magazine is flimsy. Had to replace the mag arm
shortly after I got the gun. The pellets would not drop into the breach.
This looks like a much more substantial gun and I like the horizontal
    placed mag.

I purchased one about six weeks ago. It has earned its right to hang on the wall in the living room along with the German HW rifles.
Unlike yours mine is extremely pellet picky and likes only the Red Fire and the 16 grain Air Arms 5.51 yellow tin. I did try lots of brands, weights and so on at least 20 of them. I shoot an airgun daily and have pellets everywhere.
I put a Hawke 6 by 24 AMX scope on it due to tired eyes........Grin!! and have shot at least two tins of pellets through it each week, so well over 1000 shots so far. This is the Compact model AMX, long scopes on this rifle will interfere with the break action. It needs to be a short one.
At 25 yards there is only one ragged hole. No group, just one ragged hole with a 10 shot group. At 35 yards it is one inch and under consistently, and this is how it earned a spot on my wall. This morning I shot some groups at 50 yards and they averaged 1.25 inches. This is no fluke as it is consistent. I will get better, next time I will not drink any coffee.....lol!
There are now two Gamo rifles on my wall, the Bone Collector and the .22 Swarm Gamo Magnum.
I have had Gamo rifles in the past that were deplorable, terrible, worthy of only the trash bin.
However something has changed, perhaps and just guessing, BSA is now making the barrels??
In any event this one now hangs with the clan in the living room.
Good Job Gamo , you hit a home run with this one.
    Cheers
    Kit

@@AirgunDetectives JC, yes it is strategically so! BTW, did Gamo provide the BC Gen 2 rifle for review? I'd love to see a second BC review with some 40 yard targets comparing the bundle scope to your BSA outlook scope. How much more accurate would it shoot? Maybe the Hammers Magnum scope VS the BSA outlook. Gamo may like that review. I really love my Bone Collector. Awesome quality like you said. I hate scratching wood stocks while hunting (BC is my bench rifle, & backyard pester) so I will be looking for a synthetic multi shot break barrel to replace my tired 10 yo Benjamin Trail. I keep eyeing that Crosman Magfire Ultra but with Crosman moving it from the Benjamin line to the Crosman, no good reviews ;-), I have my doubts, but it still has a 5 y warranty? Ultimately, I wish Umarex would make a good powerful mag feed underlever, the Walther LGU in a multi mag. style. Or a Gamo CFR with a mag. and the Mach 1?

    Hey JC,
Thanks for the great review on the Gamo Swarm Bone Collector Gen 2 in .22
    5 stars. WOW!!!
So, the big question for me is how would you rate this next to a Weirauch or Air Arms TX 200?
The reason I ask is because I want to get an heirloom piece for my kids. I know these three airguns are not the same price point, platform, power output, or same wood stock, but at just around 20 fpe, the $300 multi shot Gamo Swarm Bone Collector Gen. 2 in .22 with a beech stock beats out the walnut stock, single shot, 15 to 17 fpe Weirauch 77 or Air Arms fixed barrel under lever in .177 or .22 at nearly or over $500 in terms of "Bang for the Buck" bargain.
Am I missing something? Is there another criteria or factors I should consider? Which is a better deal in your opinion? Better quality, fit, finish, durability, collector desirability, resale value, etc?
    Thanks again.
Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.

Hey Ken, the Gamo is a 5 star rifle for the price and the performance in its category, but is nowhere near the level of a TX200. The TX200 is like a Rolls-Royce and the Gamo is like a Toyota. • @AirgunDetectives

I would equate that to any magazine in regard to spring tension. I would always remove several rounds from my duty magazines after every shift to spare some spring tension. I also put new springs in my duty mags occasionally. This is the same principle I wouldn't leave a full magazine stored for an extended period of time (weeks). However, I do leave about 1/2 the rounds in the mag when I store the rifle just in case I need the rifle for rapid pest control. I also have a few magazine spares as well. But if you are on a weekend hunting trip..load them up! Happy Shooting 👍

  • @Patrick-857

Gamo triggers aren't very good. They are a single stage trigger pretending to be a two stage trigger. This is really bad if you want a super clean break, because that makes it dangerous, because it's sitting on a knife edge at all times when it's loaded. Be extremely careful with the longer screw mod, DO NOT LET GO OF THE BARREL, and never point it in an unsafe direction. I speak from personal experience. I won't buy anything without a true two stage trigger now, because of the safety aspect, let alone the shooting experience. A two stage trigger gives you solid sear engagement, which is taken up to almost nothing in the first stage so it breaks very cleanly on the second stage. This is safe and accurate. A single stage either has long creep followed by a seemingly unpredictable break, or it's adjusted like a two stage trigger that's already pulled back to the second stage. Don't be fooled, that "first stage" on a Gamo or Benjamin is just spring tension on the trigger blade, there's no movement of the sear until the second stage. You can get it adjusted so it's tolerable, but be extra careful, a tiny fraction of a turn too far and the trigger will break as soon as you go to start closing the action, or just randomly when you aren't expecting it. Adjusting any trigger should be done with extreme caution, but on springers it's more dangerous to you and your rifle.
