You know..... I forgot about this one!!! I do have several copays of this as well. But wow I do get confused about them all LOL. Thanks for explaining it, all!!! Good video Joe and have a Fab weekend :) too!!!
I have that one, bought it when it came out, before "Meet the Beatles" was released. But from what you showed, I have Version 2, I don't have "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" on it. I am surprised it's a version 2 as I bought it so early. Maybe they didn't make a lot of version one? played it a LOT over the years
Nice video Joe as far as the USA is concerned however if you remember Beatlemania by Capitol Records Canada is the first Beatles Lp released in North America November 22 1963
@@MarcRW I can not remember where the Arlan's store was. But I do recall going to one that was more modern and perhaps was in a plaza. That one could have been the Telegraph and 8 Mile one. I looked on Google Maps to see what was there now, and I suppose there's a furniture store in that location?
I paid $1.99 in 1964 at Fortunoff's in Brooklyn. In those days, a stereo LP was $1 more and besides the extra buck, most of us didn't yet have a stereo record player! I finally got one about two years later and was finally able to hear my first Beatles stereo LP, "Rubber Soul" in stereo! Before that, all my Beatles LP's were purchased in mono, including "The Beatles Story" double LP. By 1965, mono LP's were being phased out.
I have a rare version of this album that has an off- center spindle hole and also features a very nice warp lol. I have to go look to see if it’s a bootleg. Thanks for the info, Joe!
Hi Joe. It's Eliot Again. Dis you know that the current nVee Jay reissues are released through CRAFT RECORDINGS. CRAFT is distributed through Universal. Well Apple/Capitol is also distributed through Universal. How cool would it be if they reissued this album for RSD!
I'm not a true collector like you (mostly just want all the music) and this makes me realize I'd be over my head if I was taking it more seriously. Still, looking forward to marking many of the 60th anniversaries this year.
@@MeanMrMayo I can't recall if my counterfeit "stereo" version sounded much worse than the original mono copy that I bought in 1964, but the tracks certainly weren't in stereo! Being from Long Island, Joe would recognize the name of the store from where I bought my original 1964 versio. It was Fortunoff's. They became known for household goods and jewelry when Joe was a teen, but back in 1964, they had a bunch of stores on the same block in Brooklyn, NY, and one of them sold electronics and records.
The attention to details is what separates the regular Beatles fan from the diehard Beatles fan.. )^_-)/ Yeah I use to own a few Pete Best era Beatles albums on vinyl. I ditched all of my vinyl around the mid '90's. Regrets yeah.. I have few. But then again too few to mention. Sorry MrMayo.. Living in the town that gave birth to Frank Sinatra you're bound to bust out Sinatra lyrics.. )^_-)/
Hello Mr. Mayo Thanks for telling us about this album I remember hearing about it, but I do not have it in my collection because I knew that lots of the ones that are for sale are counterfeits However, now that you made this video, I will show it to my dad or my brother so that they could help me get an original Once again, thank you for showing this album. God bless you and I will catch you on the next video.
I just played that album. I think I have the real McCoy. I did have a counterfeit a few years back but sold it. Happy Anniversary to an album I love but of course I like Please Please Me more.
The boot of Songs Pictures & Stories of The Fabulous Beatles, thats' another episode. The Vee Jay authenticity should have been an Indianna Jones search....!
Nice review. I have only two copies of this LP. One real, one fake. I remember buying the fake copy at Camelot Music back in the late 70s. It always amazed me how legit companies had counterfeit copies of LPs in their stock (this might be an interesting subject in itself). Of course, I did not know this at the time.
In the 1970's, a load of counterfeit stereo versions of "Introducing The Beatles" on VeeJay made their way into the record shops. The cover was washed out and obviously a copy, but that didn't stop yours truly from falling for it. I bought an original mono copy for $1.99 when it first came out in 1964 but started drooling when I saw "stereo" in the store!
This is why the Bruce Spizer books are needed. I got one of the boots with rainbow label and Beatles above spindle hole..but has no green on rainbow band..so fake..most counterfeited Beatles album supposedly 😮
Beautiful album and great info provided. And yes a very big year!!!!
Nice job, Joe. This LP and all the variations always intrigued me. Bruce Spizer's Vee Jay book is a must have on this subject.
You know..... I forgot about this one!!! I do have several copays of this as well. But wow I do get confused about them all LOL. Thanks for explaining it, all!!! Good video Joe and have a Fab weekend :) too!!!
I had this album in my collection for as long as I can remember. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
And those pressings sound great.
Cool showing of all the records and enjoyed the various pressing information of this Rock'n and historic album.
Good video on introducing the Beatles LP the first LP I remember as a kid seeing was that LP and meet the Beatles keep going
Hey Joe! It's Eliot. Great video on Today's 60th Anniversary of this album!
Thanks! I did remember, but I appreciate you giving me more incentive.

Very informative. Thanks once again Joe.
Joe, it would be cool if you could do a "spot the counterfeit" series with a seperate episode for each Beatles album.
Nice video Joe as far as the USA is concerned however if you remember Beatlemania by Capitol Records Canada is the first Beatles Lp released in North America November 22 1963
You are correct! Thanks
Those look pretty clean. Cool! The Black labels are usually the Reissue labels from the Late 60's.
I bought "Introducing The Beatles" the day it came out for $2.59 at Arlan's Department Store in 1964. Mine version has the ad back. Take Care, Marc
My mother loved Arlan's Dept. Store. I didn't. The store looked like a dirty old factory warehouse. UGH.
@@DocDoccus I only went there to buy records. The one at Telegraph and 8 mile was clean during the 1950's and early 60's.

Sounds like a unique version!
I have one original and one counterfeit. Nice info. Great video. Thanks!
Historic! 60 years now…wow!
Joe, Old Vee Jay rainbow label looks like the Capitol labels of the 1960s Beatles lps. Thanks for sharing.
It’s too bad there isn’t an official 60th anniversary reissue in AMERICA . Good video as usual
I have both version 1 & version 2 in mono & stereo - both my version 1s are Monarch pressings, but I don't have a legit version 1 stereo cover....
Interesting lesson on boots here Joe.
Thanks
Hello joe thanks for telling us about this I love the beatles love the records
My pleasure!

I prefer original antiques! :)
People worldwide will now be looking for band label placement, chipped Es, enormous deadwax and George's shadow. Thank you, Professor Mayo.

Just bought a beautiful copy for $7.00 it's in my new video of digging for records in Seattle
Thank you Joe....always enjoy seeing your record collection ☮️🎶🙏🏻✨
Thanks
I always loved this album. I heard about the blank back. Yes there were a lot of counterfeits but as a young kid I didn't care I just wanted it LOL
Good stuff, Joe! Yeah, some of those original pressings ( legit ones ) are 200 grams! 😎 I paid $2.69 way back!
I like your commentary. I'm curious about the sound quality. Do the fake LPs have a noticeably inferior sound, compared to the real ones?
I don't recall them being very different, but I haven't played a fake in decades.

I think I would get rid of that outer sleeve and get a Polly sleeve for that album.

I never come across anything other than the mono version 2 & the tons of counterfeit copies.
How do the bootleg versions sound?
Never bother to play those.

Didnt capital later release Meet the Beatles with alot of the same songs
Yes, mainly on The Early Beatles.
