Alejandra "Alé" Lorenzo is the Princess of "Freestyle"! She doesn't OD on Soul phrasing and inflections. She simply carries the melody which is beautiful and very rare! Alejandra!❤
Some people complain that Alé wasn't as good of a singer as the later Expose girls (Jeanette, Ann and Gioia)--but after recording Point of No Return, she took lessons and you can really hear it in the vocals for Exposed to Love. This solo track (and her other one) show what a really beautiful voice Alé had. I think she's just as talented of a singer as the current Expose vocalists.
when she sang her first song for expose, point of no return, she was not good., even she admitted to that. by the time she sang exposed to love, she sounds so much better. her voice after she left expose has improved significantly.
You see, Alejandra doesn't employ those overused cliched "Soul Inflections" that Janette Jurado uses. She's a dime a dozen singer. Just compare the original 1983 Alejandra Lorenzo version to the later 1987 Janette Jurado version. Alejandra sang in a sweet melodic Latina style which was void of "Soul" phrasing.
I remember this song very well and I remember liking it instantly when I heard it. I had already purchased 2 of Sandee`s 12" dance mixes and as soon as I could, I went to Tower Records and bought 2 copies of this single on 12"! I t's a great song, and I still have my 2 copies along with everything both Expose' groups have ever recorded! I love Ale's voice...
From B96 Chicago…Took this song Expose, Paula Abdul AB Logic and quite a few others with me to the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm 1991! Got me through a 7 month Navy deployment
+MrAntiSellOut Oh yeah! I hadn't heard this since June of 1990. I had just graduated 8th grade, was sitting out on the patio at home with this little radio and WBBM FM 96.3 Chicago *B96* was playing Alé - Stop Me If I Fall In Love. For me, this is one of those long lost and awesome Freestyle songs.
Not that I know of, I was in a band before and we played back up for Expose before they got the new girls, I know Sandee passed away I know she had problems with seizures poor thing@@AI-Consultant
I heard this song Thursday 26 July 1990 at a stopover in LAX airport. The day after Roseanne Barr had a disastrous ... well...I'll leave it at that. Unfortunately not anymore since. Good thing I had my Aiwa HS-J 170 to record from FM radio to blank tape back then.
I don't know of she is still alive i'm not really sure if she is.The only member group who passed away from expose is sandee she died a long time ago and if you'd like to know where ale & lauri is at right now you can google it to find out man
Ale is still alive. She just remains private. Sandra a.k.a Sandee I knew personally. Ale has no interest in the spotlight anymore. After everything that went down back in the day. But, she will do interviews.
My jam. I love it diva b

It's been over 30 years since I heard this awesome track on B96 The Killer Bee in Chicago. And it still sounds great on these bones.

@@minavamp2811She might not have been great, but she certainly was not "not good".

Love how it uses the swelling organ and "Stop!" from the Supremes' "Stop! In The Name of Love." Clever sample use.
Ale, she is totally awesome!

Excellent track, thanks for sharing, it sounds like C & C Music Factory and Black Box worked together with Alé, who has a beautiful voice.
