I kinda think of the situation like a place selling ice cream. WB wanted to sell vanilla and fans wanted chocolate chips in it. The fans got what they wanted and they liked it and want more chocolate chip ice cream but WB wanted people to be satisfied so they can go back to selling vanilla.

The whole situation proves one thing that zack snyder is a d!*k and not as nice his fans make out to be. When director of Godzilla vs Kong requested Zack Snyder to ask his fans to not attack GvK. Zack Snyder simply shrugged him off and said he doesn't control his fans.
Ofcourse he doesn't but he could have put out a request to his fans. Instead Zack Snyder kept attacking Warner Brothers ruining any chance of working with WB in future.
BvS was bulls!!t even the ultimate cut was. But after his daughter died, there was a sympathy wave for Zack Snyder, and his fans were predisposed to like his films.

I may be in the minority, but I was super grateful for the Snyder Cut. I loved it and appreciated it a lot! I can’t believe some people have nothing else to do with their day than “review bomb” movies LMAO There are real problems in the world they can apply that energy to.
Your lemon lollipop analogy is flawed. It would be more accurate to say we were willing to pay Ms. Jones for that lollipop pop but she gave us a candy corn instead, that we still paid for. Then after years of complaining she relented and gave us the lemon lollipop for free.
Snyder movies usually tend to focus on the visuals and tone, the story and character arcs are underdeveloped, and as a result he produces films that look cool but do not make sense, much like Michael Bay.

@@greggallardo3839 when I say nonsensical I mean unfleshed out character development and motivations, and plot holes, things such as the infamous "Martha Moment" in Batman vs Superman, I think his most cohesive and best films are 300 and Man of Steel
Was it a mistake for WB to release the Snyder Cut if they were not planning on continuing the Snyderverse? Yes, but it is a mistake I'm glad they made because I really liked that movie and for me it improves previous movies like BvS and Man of Steel.
Also, I do agree that a portion of release the Snydercut movement were very, very toxic, and they have only done more harm than good to the movement itself and it's understandable why WB wants to distance themselves from it. I also believe that more than the Snydercut itself, the attitude of the previous WB leadership helped igniting this toxic part of the movement even more by directly calling them out and doing inflammatory statements serving as an antagonistic paper to these people.
You guys are blowing this way over proportion. It may have been 5% or less that was toxic. The problem is those are the only ones that waste time on social media.
If they had released it in the first place, this wouldn’t have happened.
Also WB did NOT even market the movie. They had trailers under “unlisted” on their YT profile. They didn’t post anything on their social media to market the movie. They wanted the movie to underperform. They didn’t release it for profit, they released it to shut the fans up but it backfired with the situation we now have.
Some comments are 1000% proving WB's point. The Snyder Verse for most audiences didn't like. Snyder is a top 40 director today, but he's being treated like a top 5 director, he's not.

So WB is essentially saying, “fxck the fans,” right? Most of the DCU is trash, especially the movies. The TV shows are mostly trash, but mildly entertaining enough to outshine the movies. Snyder was the best thing to ever happen to them! They just conceded to the slightly better MCU.
I think a lot of fans were pissed that they even HAD to ask for this! The studio should’ve known better.
What Warner Brothers should really regret is hiring Joss Whedon to take over directing duties for Justice League.
He made Superman look ridiculous with the CGI mustache.
He made Batman look completely useless.
He humiliated Wonder Woman by having Flash fall on top of her.
He screwed over Ray Fisher and Cyborg both in and out of the film.
He cut out 90% of the film so he could refilm it into the movie that it is today.
His designs for Steppenwolf look like utter garbage.
He left out certain details that were very important like General Swanewick being the Martian Manhunter all this time.
They should've let Zack finish the movie he intended to make.

The argument here is not whether the Snyder cut is better, that’s up to you to decided. The argument is that rather than the fandom being grateful that Warner Bros put out $70 million to release the Snydercut, it only emboldened the fandom to attack Warner Bros even more. The proof is in how the fandom reacted after the Snydercut was released. Many started review bombing “Godzilla vs Kong” simply because it was a Warner property that was not continuing the Snyderverse. It got so bad that the director of “Godzilla Vs Kong” asked Zack Snyder to tell his fans to stop review bombing his movie. This is what I lament about fandom in general. The Snyder cut for the Justice League could have been one of the biggest wins in fandom history. But instead, it only verified to the big suits how unstable the fandoms can be.

There is literally no reason why the JL Snyder Cut fans would need to hate on a movie that has no relation to a movie they fought so hard to come out. Whatever point the JL Snyder Cut guys were making in hating and review bombing Godzilla vs Kong was not only bad, it actually gives Warner Bros legitimate reasons for regretting in giving in to fan pressure in releasing JL Snyder Cut and now there’s absolutely no way they will do something similar in the future. Its like the video said, rather than the fans saying “ thank you”, the fans turned around and said “f*ck you” and didn’t show appreciation for the money Warner Bros put in so Snyder could complete his film. I'd regret it too since it put the theatrical release to shame and basically buried DC. The snyder cut us the only way justice league is even watchable.
The Snyder fans swore up and down that all they wanted was for Snyders version of that movie to be released and that they would move on. They lied. Also if his movies had made the money they needed to he would still be making them, they didn’t. A Batman v Superman film made less than a Captain America v Iron Man movie…
Pretty much agree with everything in this video.
I was very supportive of the movement, even campaigned online a bit. It was a great day when it was announced and to cap it all off, the movie was a blast. I am immensely thankful to the people at WB/HBOmax that made it happen.
But the hard-core fans (as they frequently do for all franchises) take it too far and end up becoming their own worst enemy.

I still believe that once Snyder was away with grieving his daughters death, WB found it as an opportunity to fire him. They hate Snyder ever since they expected BvS was going to make billions, yet they're the ones who butchered the theatrical release of BvS.

Hi John, hi everyone.
Few points:
1. (And probably the biggest), shouldn't the executives at WB be regretting more releasing JL 17 as they did in theatres?
2. If we talk about the money they "sunk" on finishing ZSJL, you could argue more so that equally... the amount they spent on the Whedon reshoots at the time were then probably even more of a waste? Technically, the money that was allocated in the budget to finish the 214min cut Zack had made for the studio was reallocated to the reshoots and then some after he was taken off the project..
3. I also think that the way WB treated the Snyders, (and the cast & crew) at the time of the reshoots was so poor, especially through such a difficult time.. should be the thing they regret the most. We can't forget that all that lead to an abuse investigation which resulted in that other director basically being cancelled from Hollywood. Very regrettable allowing that to happen on your watch if you're any sort of decent executive wanting to look after your talent.
I say this stuff respectfully of course and I did really love this video thanks all 💪 .

I enjoyed the Snyder Cut, and it was clearly better than the theatrical release. Having said that, the Snyder cut was still disappointing.
It was way too long for the limited amount of plot and story going on, and with too much Snyder slow mo.

I just say this… imagine Kevin Feige and co released the first avengers movie… were all hyped about it and then the post credit scene with thanos comes on. The theatre explodes with excitement ready for the next chapter… and the Kevin Feige comes from behind the stage and says “Yea, nah we good… we don’t need anymore of that”. That’s literally what it’s like being a Snyder cut fan. The movie literally ends on a cliffhanger. It’s not that we want more and we’re not satisfied with what we got… but it was incomplete

So basically they're pissed at two things. 1. That they were forced to release a BETTER version of the movie than they did and 2. I have not heard a single person, that I've talked to about the movie, talking shit about WB after they released the Snyder Cut of Justice League. Almost all of them thought it was great that they did that. The main reason I got and keep HBOMax was because of the Snyder Cut. It's a great movie and in my opinion the best portrayal of Wonder Woman to date. I personally would rather see a more up beat Superman film, but I can appreciate the Frank Miller vibe Snyder brought to his films. Henry Cavill is an amazing Superman and needs to have another shot at a solo film.
The regret should be that they ever let Zach Snyder anywhere near the DCEU.

If your involvement in a project is putting up money, to get more money, you NEVER deserve praise. It's a-moral at best.
The art gets the praise. If you produce good art, you'll get paid from the audience. If you put up crap art, you get jack. If you destroy good art and replace it with crap, you earn vitriol. At that point, fixing the error - restoring the art - only puts you back to nutral. It doesn't offset the bad blood. Now you have to earn credibility back.
These corporate goons are morons and have a large task ahead of themselves to get to square 1.

I don't think new WB Discovery Execs are regretting Snyder cut got released. Obviously not... I'm certain its the Execs who got booted out by Zaslav are the haters. And also the employees from previous regime who's jobs are at risk have jumped in the hate bandwagon as well. Everybody knew WB DC movies needed a big shake up and that's whats happening right now - incompetent people getting sacked, mediocre movies getting cancelled. Something or someone has to be the scapegoat right, and this where Snydercut comes in.
The issue with your analogy is that you didn’t mention the part where the neighbor took the lollipop. The Snydercut was the original version of the film. WB decided to change it without Snyder. So a better analogy is a neighbor takes the lollipop away from you, you demand they give it back, and when they do give it back you say “Fuck You” for taking it from you in the first place.
But they took the lollipop away years before and you're still screaming and harassing the neighbor until they gave it back. Ultimately, you're the only one who got something and the neighbor got absolutely nothing. a "Fuck You" seems a bit of a dick move.

The only thing really to regret was the release of the Josstice League who didn't finished ZS's vision like someone back in the day claimed he would do. And if you want to cut ties with the DC Snyderverse, stop making movies of those characters depicted by these actors. WB still wants to have it both ways kinda.

If you’re going to lambast the Snyder fans, at least be accurate. Literally the day after ZSJL released, there was an interview with Ann Sarnoff released talking about how the movie completed the cul de sac, and how we should move on- an interview done BEFORE the movie released.
WB did not act in good faith with ZSJL, and did everything they could to downplay it. That’s why the fans reacted the way they did after the movie released.

I think, the only thing WB regrets is not capitalising on the ZSJL.
After s long time, DC movie had a strong positive buzz and it was a celebration. And nothing came out of it.
If it was marvel, they would have already declared 5 more sequels and spinoffs.

All we hope now is a Henry Cavill Superman. Why don’t we have that already, or is that also Snyder’s fault?

The people who decided to remove Snyder, brought him back after years of fans campaigning and want to be praised for their decision to complete the movie they originally scrapped and redistributed for HBO Max subscriber purposes?
Fans are upset that it needed to be campaigned to be released and it proved fans right that this was the better outcome for their property/team. You cant ask for a round of applause for undoing your own mistake...if they were smart, they'd capitalize on the new fan momentum and just say future movies will act as if ZS Justice League is canon and continue to carry on the same threads without Zack or something.

I think the reason them releasing the SnyderCut didn’t work out for them is because it only HIGHLIGHTED the fact that they COULD have released a good movie from the jump, but they themselves messed up by bringing in an ex Avengers director (I still will never understand that move- and it led to a whole other can of worms in terms of drama) and released a terrible movie. So like they messed up, they tried to fix their mistake, which like- good on them. But some people aren’t very forgiving and for some the release wasn’t even worth it. I agree, it’s a way better film, but some people weren’t satisfied even with the Snyder Cut. So it’s just a weird situation… if Marvel did it, it would’ve been better received but it’s a pattern with DC/WB so the criticism piles on.
They regret releasing it because it showed how intrusive they can be to director's vision. We all agree the theatrical cut was 🗑 💩
They should have regretted not having released it in the first place.
I think Rob had the right take. Fruit of the poisonous tree, maybe the WB execs should regret bringing in Whedon and totally redoing JL or regret trying to push it out to secure Xmas bonuses. I remember getting out of BvS and a friend was working the front and asked how it was, "That was a weird movie" and the dude behind me nearly choked he scoffed so hard. It wasn't great. ZSJL was a massive improvement over both JL and BvS. And WB would have had plenty of pull too call for a sub 3 hour cut and let Snyder have a director's version. Maybe the root regret WB execs should have is rushing too hard to get the DCEU out. Signing ZS to multiple deals and immediate turn around before prior movies were out. Rushing JL and bringing Whedon in. Regretting the Snyder cut is so short sighted and lacking self awareness it equates to "Maybe I'm wrong? No it's the children that are wrong."
They need to regret the entire DCEU. None of those movies were great

Thank you. The only reason why they haven’t scraped everything 3 years ago is because Shazam and aqua man were really good. If those movies flopped we would’ve already been onto a rebooted DC’verse.

Man of Steel was a mess. But I did love the Snyder book.
I've been saying that even before Man Of Steel came out. His DC movies are just Snyder being Snyder. Him and WB destroyed mostly of the DC heroes.

WB needs to be called out on their bad decisions; but the internet is unforgiving in most circumstances.
Jesus Christ, it’s like they just want to keep DC fans divided. We get it, some people loved Snyder’s DC movies and some hate it. I love it and the Snyder cut was amazing. But it’s like how the news keeps Trump in the media just to keep everyone divided and bitching about it. Like just move on. I loved the Snyder trilogy but DC is moving on and so am I.

Im currently subscribed to HBOM and have been since The Snyder Cut was released, which is the sole reason I subscribed in the first place. I say thank you to all parties involved in delivering the movie and looked forward to the follow ups. (I have my critiques, but enjoyed the movie for what it was, nonetheless).

The Snyder cut was better, WB just pissed that they were wrong and continues to be wrong about their decisions. I was okay with the directions Snyder was headed with the DC universe, WB just has to stick their nose in things they have no idea what the ip is about or what the fans want.
I think it was a good move. I only subbed to HBO MAX was because of the film, and haven't regretted it since, but I understand the Fandom being assholes and the regret that came from it.

The whole situation proves one thing that zack snyder is a d!*k and not as nice his fans make out to be. When director of Godzilla vs Kong requested Zack Snyder to ask his fans to not attack GvK. Zack Snyder simply shrugged him off and said he doesn't control his fans.
Ofcourse he doesn't but he could have put out a request to his fans. Instead Zack Snyder kept attacking Warner Brothers ruining any chance of working with WB in future.
