this was the 100th episode so there were a lot of parallels to the first episode (Carl walking in the beginning with the gas can similar to the beginning of episode 1, the slow top shot of the walkers circling Gabriel and Negan in the RV similar to Rick stuck in the tank, etc.)
Shooting the windows because if you remember in Alexandria, Constable Rick explained to Jessie the “broken window” theory… when windows are gone, the society goes….
Quirky Quota, at 25:06, John Bernecker was a stunt performer, on Jury 12 2017 he was performing stunts on the walking dead during rehearsal, he fell 20 feet onto a concrete floor missing a placed safety cushion by inches and sustained a severe head injury, he was taken to the hospital and placed on life support, he died from his injuries the next day, at 25:10, George A Romero was a American Canadian film director, he directed Night of the Living Dead 1968 Dawn of the dead 1978 Day of the dead 1985 Land of the dead 2005 Diary of the dead 2007 and Survival of the dead 2009, on July 16 2017 he died following a brief but aggressive battle with Lung cancer
This is episode 100 of The Walking Dead To celebrate 100 episodes they had a callback to the opening scene and the ending scene Carl walking through the gas station just like Rick in the first episode And the walker in the background was actually the same actress that played the zombie girl in the first episode all grown up and Gabriel being trapped with Negan in the trailer surrounded by walkers just like Rick being trapped in the tank surrounded by Walkers.
Geroge romero is the god father of zombies he started it all with his 1968 film called night of the living dead a masterpiece in my opinion and the part where carl is trying to find gas is a reference to rick trying to find gas back in season 1 and the part where Gabriel and negan are stuck in the trailer is a reference to when rick was in the tank it shows the same camera angle and everything
This episode is the 100th of the series. There are a lot of similarities to the first episode (when Carl starts looking for gas among the derelict cars - like Rick does in episode 1 ... The walker girl that Rick sees after Carl leaves is the same actress who played the little girl walker in Days Gone Bye) The "old man" Rick scenes symbolize Carl's vision of the future ... how it "Could have been" ...
Remember back in Season 6 when Rick told Jessie about the window theory (Keep the windows in tact keep society intact) This was a callback to that meaning that Rick’s plan was to break the will of Negan’s army by ruining their sense of safety Subtle but I thought it was pretty brilliant.
Those colour-coded armbands everyone is waiting are to signify which community the person is from White for Alexandria Green for the Hilltop Orange for the Kingdom I assume it’s to avoid anyone being mistaken for a Savior and shot by their own side.
I remember having a weird feeling watching this episode! So excited to go to war and finally fight back, but when I saw Negan injured I realised I wasn’t ready for him to die! He’s just so entertaining! Don’t get me wrong I want our group to win but I enjoy the saviour era, they are great villains! 🤷🏽♀️
I really like the reference when Carl was driving that van to the gas station just like in Season 1 Episode 1 when Rick drove his police cruiser to that gas station and also another reference was at the end of the episode when Gabriel is trapped with Negan in that trailer and it’s surrounded by Walkers just like when Rick was stuck in that tank in Atlanta and it’s surrounded by Walkers.
At this point of the show there are so many characters It’s crazy to look at the Season 1 group and then look at the groups in Season 5-7 Furthermore we only have a handful of Season 1 characters left Rick Carl Carol Daryl Morgan
John Bernecker was a Stunt man who tragically died during shooting this Season falling from that platform Negan and his lieutenants are standing on He missed the cushion because he hesitated for an unknown reason His family sued AMC and the case was tried It just ended 4 years ago AMC was found not at fault.
What I liked about this episode: Finally after putting up with being under the thumb of Negan for so long the communities go on the offensive There are similarities to D Day June 6 1944 when the allied forces finally invade Europe after years of getting hammered I was so ready And like D Day things went wrong But remember what Maggie said about keeping the faith with each other I also loved the character development of Carl here You see him becoming more compassionate toward strangers He’s still a bit odds with Rick but the roles have reversed Remember when Rick brought home survivors from Woodbury and younger Carl was angry with him for doing so I loved the music score Notice the piece played when Carl was setting out the I’m sorry food drop for the stranger It was the perfect I’m Sorry tune just Awesome.
I won't get mad that you don't know who George A. Romero is, but just know that without him, the entire zombie subgenre as we know it wouldn't exist. You should check out his movie 'Night of the Living Dead' from 1968 for one of your movie reactions, as that movie started it ALL. Best part is that it's in the public domain, so you could put the entire movie up and not have to edit a damn thing.
George A Romero is the creator of The night of the living dead Day of the dead Dawn of the dead and Land of the dead He is like a hero to zombie movie fans.
You are not ready for season 8, you will experience a very Big tragedy,I will not spoil it, you will be shocked, allé I Hope is, Negan wins and is victorious 💥🔥
Hey Guys there is a future Film called: Robot Dreams and I was wondering if you could React it when its now released PS: watch the Official trailer first

And they had shooters in the windows

Yup, he was a legend in the zombie genre, guys
They need to watch all the Romero Dead living dead movies.

The new world’s gonna need Rick Grimes

Michonne didn’t go cause she is still healing from her beating in 7:16.

I can't tell you how much I love Negan
George Romero is a legend!
Made me sad watching a zombie genre and said who are those 😢
George Romero is the father of zombie movies and lures...
ALL OUT WAR, only 4 seasons left counting this one, been with y’all since the end of season one and look forward to everything since!
''George romero''
''Who are those?''
WHAT!?
Read up 6 or 7 comments, it explains who both were 😊😊😊
@nahidnmariek5310 it's the reactors that don't know lol

First time realising this call back. Always love finding out new layers of the show lol it's pretty endless

"My mercy prevails over my wrath" - Rick Grimes
The scene with Carl walking around with the gas can is a shot for shot recreation of Rick in the premiere of Season 1
my mercy prevails over my wrath 😭😭😭
Fun fact: Tara kept tossing her twizzlers over onto the walkers between takes lol
Little snake lol. Hes trying to be tough lol
It’s crazy how much Maggie’s speech applies to the World right now.
I personally think they were shooting at the windows to make the sanctuary uninhabitable as it would get cold and damp and unsafe to live in
8:18 Rick in his group talk shit too and rick wasn't going to keep him alive he was going kill anyway, in that's also not the worst way to die.
At this point of the show there are so many characters It’s crazy to look at the Season 1 group and then look at the groups in Season 5-7
Furthermore we only have a handful of Season 1 characters left
Rick
Carl
Carol
Daryl
Morgan
Michonne didn't go because she is still healing from being beat almost to death.

Really? That's terrible. That platform must be higher up than it looks...because the height doesn't look bad enough for a fall to be fatal.
george remero is literally the creator of the zombie genre lol

Marks on the gun like that does represent how many lives you taken. Sadly you know those don’t represent walker kills 😂
Been here since the start love this ❤
One more season of this long savior arc and basically a new show for season 9!!
George Romero is the Godfather of zombies. He invented these Zombies! Put some respect on his name! Love the reactions dudes!
The tree is my favorite thing about this season
Michonne didn't go with Rick because she's still healing from the fight in 7x16
.When the windows are in tact society is in tact. Plus it will get cold in the sanctuary
Negan has hundreds of saviors 😨
This episode is probably my favourite out of the 11 seasons

1:34 There's only one person who has to die...myself I will
From one great season to another!! Hope you enjoy this season as much as I did!
John Bernecker, I think, was the stunt guy that died on set while attempting a stunt. Not sure if it was this episode or an episode coming up.
George A Romero is the creator of The night of the living dead Day of the dead Dawn of the dead and Land of the dead He is like a hero to zombie movie fans.
Why did yall remove the yellow Season and episode numbers in the bottom right corner?
You are not ready for season 8, you will experience a very Big tragedy,I will not spoil it, you will be shocked, allé I Hope is, Negan wins and is victorious 💥🔥
LETS GO YOU BEAUTIFUL CONTENT CREATORS!!!!!!!!
I can't wait for y'all to get to episode 9;)
You thought Negan was crazy Rick makes Negan look like a decent person when he’s at his most insane.
Wow this channel is completely unrecognizable
Why?
Season 8 is fire
Season 8 gets a lot of hate and I don't understand why I thoroughly enjoyed it
Chop chop, next episode please
I can never understand why rick didn't take a shot at negan when he had him in his sights. Or the group could off open fire on them all.?
Team Rick gets the win
Rick Grimes is the best iam counting the badass
Hey Guys there is a future Film called: Robot Dreams and I was wondering if you could React it when its now released
PS: watch the Official trailer first
hey can you guys do episode reactions to adventure time next
Watch Dreamworks Dinotrux please
Only 7 more episodes till the dumbest decision of the show

It for sure had its good parts, but season 8 is the show's lowpoint for me. Fear TWD became better as the main show at this point.
