Just replaced both tracks, both sprockets, both idlers, both adjusters, and all the rollers on one of our Deere 853M feller-bunchers 2 weeks ago. Cleaned 7 months of accumulated dirt, rocks, and tree branches out of the frame & u/c, and chased every single bolt hole. There was about 3/16” gap between the new idlers and the upper slides so our welder gouged the old ones out and welded in new pieces to take out the slop. There are no support rollers, just 2 support pads about 2 feet long for each track. If you finish the job without any smashed, black fingernails you did well!

They worked hard on getting the tracks installed, but didn't use the end loader to pull the tracks on with a chain or large rope. Also they didn't need to remove the track completely.
True. He could have rolled the track back onto the carriers and blocked a grouser at the idler if all he was doing was changing rings. Plus, someone did a little cheating and left the springs out of the master.

Old pins and bushings on a brand new sprocket... that outta last a long time. NOT... You know the old saying; if you can't do the job the right way the first time, how are you going to find the time to do it a second time?

Even you can do it, overturn the undercarriages welded the cracks, frames,track shoes and etc, than installed back, done these jobs back in the 80s and 90s dropped this job than went to worked offshore in 1991, now pension in 2013.

Did afew of these in my apprenticeship days including, welding growzers to rebuild wear in them, parts were either hard to come by or too expensive.
I want to know what all those people taking videos are going to do with the videos? I mean how many times are they going to watch it?

I wonder what the on-the-job severe injury rates are for workers in these countries that have no requirements for PPE's like safety shoes.
And hammering on hardened sprockets with a sledge isn't a good idea either. That sprocket ring will chip and go right into a leg. He got the job done, but sorry, he put himself in some bad situations during that R&I.

@@YchchataTohtobul на дт-75 так не застегнёшь, а на звёздочке влёгкую и не нужо ещё эксковатор, тросом зацепил за звезду, он сам ее на тащит, мы так даже на т180 застегаем. У меня дядька так приехал в деревню, а там на дт гусянку застегают на переднем колесе, и долго вы так ебётесь, да пол дня уже, её на звёздочке застегают, он им за пять минут застегнул.

Seriously like have you never seen a mechanic performing duties at a construction site when we look outside and see 🏗 construction 🚧 sites or 👨🏾🔧 mechanic shops everywhere.
Som kind of exhibision or ''open doors event''. You have them too, if i am not mistaken. Mybe less ''interested'' spectators, but other than that - seems cnocetualy same.

Мы сталкивали гусеницу немного назад, она оставалась лежать на катках. После замены звёздочки, трос накидывали на зуб и подтягивали гусеницу обратно. Не надо было сбрасывать всю да и необходимость в помощи другой машины отпадала. А здесь ребята делают через пятую точку.

В серьезных фирмах такая звезда секторная. И меняют секторами не снимая гусеницу ))
Соединяют гусеничную ленту не на "ленивце" а на " звёздочка"!

Should replace sprocket bolts & master pins on the tracks
So break track on sprocket. Then walk machine backward so sprocket is in air. Then wind track forward off top of sprocket. R&r sprocket. Sling track to sprocket, pull track over or use bucket. Tram forward. Join track.
A true "Journeyman Mechanic" makes difficult & dangerous jobs look easy and believe me, it is not.😮

Working in heavy mining industry for over 40 years and it makes me realise we have come so far in occupational safety yet this makes me so nervous seeing no precautions takes to mitigated uncontrolled movement potential and fatalities potential, is life really so cheap there ?
My ass would be using an electric winch for the tracks and a crane for lifting off the sprocket. I bet I can get a lot more work done through out the year.

A lot of real scary dangerous stuff in third world countries, I've seen guys walking through puddles with live welding i cables in them wearing sandals, bamboo scaffolding 40 ft. In the air in the Philippines plus a lot of other hazardous things too many to list here.

Why didn’t you break the tracks at the sprockets and only have to move them back off of them instead of pulling the tracks completely off the top. Would save your back.

I am from Guyana , I'm excavator operator all that I do is screw off the idler nut and to make sure that the chain is slock enough so the chain is able to throw off from the front roller first and afterwards the chain have alot lengths so in order to clair the final drive and then the chain is off with out any force of a human and to put the chain back to original location it take me less than 5 minutes.

aaahhhh!!!!!!, pero esta excavadora está chiquitilla!!!!!!, es relativamente fácil cambiarle los sproquet, inténtenlo en la 375, 385, 390, la nueva 395 o en la 6015!!!!!!!!, inténtenlo en esas!!!!!!
А почему без замены направляющего колеса, поддерживающих и опорных катков, и самой цепи? Замена только ведущей звёздочки не даст хорошего результата, так как выше названные детали тоже имеют значительную степень износа.
Мне лично не понятно. Сам лично принимал участие в ремонте ходовой. Пришлось даже убеждать начальство в необходимости и целесообразности замены всех деталей. Просто я работал на той машине и отвечал не только за качество выполняемых работ, но и за безопасность людей в зоне проведения работ и за техническое состояние машины.
