Dosad definitivno.
Listening to this for the 100th time on my way to work this morning on the tram. Closed my eyes and got lost in its melody. Missed my stop. Always worth it. ❤
I heard this on the radio yesterday and the DJ said that Nick Cave was inspired to write the lyrics by the Spanish mystic and poet St John of the Cross.
Interesting! Amancio Prada sings 'Spiritual Canticle', one of St John's poems (Cántico espiritual) ua-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_mJK7WVVOyKphn11-oGqkyXqctfKOswTn4.html
@@BPTNY agreed like marvin gaye, stevie wonder, luther vandross, al green, and otis redding. i would add david bowie to that list of artists as well though he's white but he loved soul music.
The second verse is so wonderful, immediately establishing itself as a companion piece to Wild God with the flying man with long trailing hair. Lovely !
Sadness and the end of life in this song is beautiful in my eyes and nick cave never lets you down, with his vocal and real heart put into all his songs,he makes a sad song buietful
Nick Cave grows with each album. I love his integrity and poetry and love everything he’s done from the birthday party on. In my opinion he’s the greatest living songwriter
My cat Moë smiles ever so peacefully when I have this on loop. He even sat on the bathroom cabinet next to the speaker, as i played it over & over & over while in the bath ❤
This song... This song.. I'm not sure how to explain. I just feel its another Cave beauty that has so many meanings to everyone each time its listened to...
I cannot put into words, words fail me to utter the beauty of this song. The words, the music, his voice. I can't stop listening. It describes the despair of the human condition Light and blessings Light
I simply cannot put into words how grateful I am for this man’s music. It helped me through countless difficult times. This song makes even more excited for the upcoming LP. It’s incredible to see how one human being cannot stop growing as an artist. If there’s one god that I could ever accept, it’s clearly Nick Cave.
I drove alone on a long dark night to Cleveland last autumn to hear front row Nick's solo piano with the simple understated bass of Radiohead's Colin Greenwood.
Hoping the new album is a return to more regular song structures like the releases so far. I fully understand what Nick needed to express but personally both Skeleton Tree and Ghosteen left me cold and it's so good to be reminded just how great the Bad Seeds can sound
No idea why, but the image your message created in my head brought tears to my eyes. The long stretches between places. Sounds a little like life.... ❤
I get you … “we are the drivers of cars in the midnight rain - and if we all stood together our numbers would be few” ( a line from a Leonard Cohen poem if I recall correctly).
Nicks genuine presence and autencity in the music world over the years, has been a true lifesaver. The way he and his fellow musicians has delivered poetic quality to a disrupted industry makes me humble and enormously grateful. Incredible beautiful. A big heartfelt thankyou. 🌹
He sang "maybe the sun don't shine on everyone live in concert" and it was such a nice variation
The same last night in Zagreb 🥰
Absolutely loved it!🤍

The dark night of the soul...the poem John of the Cross wrote.
My long night is coming, and I don't know where the candles are.
they are within you 🕯️
Maybe the only candle, is the real ordinary world.
Mark Lanegan and Nick Cave, the voices of the soul 🖤

Goose bumps all over. Epic song. And just a few days after global power outage. Man, Mr. Cave is nailing it all the way...
Huh? Global power outage? Do you really need to be so annoying?
