The onion at 0:48 is such a Rhythm Tengoku thing to do and I love it.
Loved this so much.
@@JohnnyCasey he's referring to the original GBA game which was only released in Japan. Also, most people would be confused if you said "Rhythm Heaven" because they would assume you were either talking about the series as a whole, or the DS entry which didn't have a subtitle and was just called Rhythm Heaven. Most people would still call that one Rhythm Heaven DS though.
@@JohnnyCasey It’s not “really necessary”, no. Loads of naming conventions aren’t really necessary. But from what I’ve seen, when using English, Rhythm Tengoku usually refers to the first game in the series, and Rhythm Heaven usually refers to the series as a whole. No, that might not make a whole lot of sense in Japan if the whole series is リズム天国 to them, but Japanese also does similar stuff all the time, taking an originally-English word (トランプ, as in “trump card” for example) and using it to refer to a more narrow or more broad category (playing cards in general) than the original meaning. Not just Japanese, but tons of languages do this.
@@JohnnyCasey I don’t know why you’re expecting casual use of language to be as precise and unambiguous as possible. In English, Rhythm Tengoku is commonly understood to refer to the GBA game, so that’s why someone would refer to it in that way. There’s literally no other reason needed. You’re not going to get everyone to start calling it something else. One person being insistent on others using more “precise” terminology never works out, as Richard Stallman learned when he tried to get everyone to call Linux “GNU/Linux” and became a meme. Japanese is bad with it sometimes because *all natural languages are bad with it sometimes.* You’re certainly not going to change that quirk of human language by starting long comment chains on Rhythm Heaven videos like this. If you don’t want to accept it and leave it at that, then I don’t know what else to tell you.
@@JohnnyCasey The counter response is that it being “better” is irrelevant.
@@JohnnyCasey man really wrote whole Bible for a word

Getting even a Superb is near impossible
@@calvinp777 Haha, yeah... (I have gotten a Superb on it)
Amazing! I think I woulda got it all first try but still incredibly challenging! Also love 0:48 - totally catches you off guard and I love it
As a drummer, I wish there were more challenging sequels like this in the actual games. (And even more challenging than this, too.) Maybe they could be optional in a way. I wouldn’t want to have mandatory minigames that are too hard for a lot of people to do, but being able to get superb on most minigames without even paying attention is a little bit boring for me. Although trying to get those last few points and get the scores from 95 to 100 is certainly not easy.
For me, I hate rhythm games that challenge you purely by having fast inputs, this video is about the limit for me. I'd much rather have more technical levels, with overlapping cues and things like that. This remix ua-cam.com/video/Xnnv-dk3-_c/v-deo.html does a good job of explaining what I'm talking about.
Eventually the remixes would get so difficult they are actual input spam
I’d recommend rhythm doctor, a one button rhythm game that starts off simple, but layers on the complexity. One of the main gimmicks is that you only hit a few of the beats, and those have really tight timing windows, so spamming is never a problem. One of the best parts is the custom level maker, allowing players to make their own levels and even their own gimmicks. This is one of the hardest levels, but the game doesn’t start off this difficult (also this is a collab so the characters and music are from a different, unfinished, game): ua-cam.com/video/LvZ5F2oVU64/v-deo.html
@@thomaswang2223 Yeah, I have Rhythm Doctor, and I agree. It's a great game.
