I recently took an interest in collecting HD-DVDs because I can find most movies from that era cheaper than their Blu-Ray counterpart. I have a mixed collection of DVDs, HD-DVDs, Blu-Rays, and UHD Blu-Rays. Each of these movies I acquired at different times in life and some have a nostalgia factor and thus I hang on to them. Within the last couple of years, I've been backing up my movies to my NAS Plex server since I'm not a huge fan of streaming all of my movies from the major services. I do have some movies in my Movies Anywhere library however. When I can, I upgrade movies to new UHD releases, but these are most expensive at the moment. Therefore, I mainly collect HD-DVDs and standard Blu-Ray.
Yeah, I also have a mixed collection (and also some movies extract to MKV), my HD DVD player is a HD-XE1 by Toshiba and I never understand what's the point of buying the same movies again on Blu-ray if the HD DVD just works fine!
Because I'm an Xbox nerd, I just started collecting HD-DVD's. (Don't have the player yet, but I obviously want it!) The Exchange has them next to their VHS tapes, for the same prices! I currently only have one. The one I saw in stores the most as a kid, Shrek The Third.
I still play dvds and HD DvDs. The Quality is still apparent and even has fans of the format. They have aged well considering most electronics do not.🙂
I just recently ordered American Me on Hd DvD. They don't have it for blu-ray, I convert all of my blu-rays & dvds onto my 8tb external hard drive. I don't like netflix so I schooled myself on how to convert my own movies.
I got a couple of HD DVD combo discs and will look to pick up some more. I think the format would have lasted a little longer if Microsoft would have built it directly into the 360 instead of making us buy an add on drive.
Nice collection! I don't personally have any HD DVDs, but you have a very nice collection. Have you thought about making a collection video for all of your Disney Blu-rays and DVDs? I personally would really like to see them.
If I had Twister on HD DVD I would destroy it I prefer Twister on Laserdisc LaserDisc is better than HD DVD I love Laserdisc a lot! HD DVD is alright but not good as LaserDisc
I have 2 LG hybrid players hybrid meaning HD DVD, Blu Ray and DVD One in my computer and 1 as a stand alone. I also have 2200 DVDs 1600 Blu Rays and 100 HD DVDs and I believe there’s only 1 me🤪! Thanks
There was 185 Pal UK releases I have 179 of them. The only ones Missing are the Shop Demo Disc's They will come around soon. I have a Top of the Range player the only way to watch them. We didn't get the HD-DVD Flip Disc's all of ours were Single sided and Duel Layer. Jason Borne and King Kong were given away when You purchase a Player. Wow You are missing some Great Movies You need to look out for some More. Why You should keep them Is they are Very Rare because apart from a Few Titles You can't give them away. Charity's (thrift Stores) stopped taking them and CD's In a long time ago.

HD-DVD's still look great. Some DVD's certainly show their age, but many movies aren't available on BluRay!
@@KevinTRod some movies that were on VHS didn't even make Dvd let alone the other formats

I have some hd DVDs still, and a Toshiba player. Including the pianist
Do any of your HD-DVDs suffer from disc rot? Warner (and affiliates) discs are notorious for that.
Honestly, I haven’t watched them in years, so I have no idea.

I will likely get around to that at some point.
No point owning them now as even tho they are dirt cheap on Ebay etc trying to get a player is needle in a haystack nowadays
I have some hd DVDs (maybe like 50) but some dont work due to disc rot or some technical problem.
Yeah it was mostly the Warner Bros ones that ended up disc rotting because they were poorly manufactured
I have never heard of HD DVD but I only use regular dvd
Most people don't know what HD-DVD is anymore.
@@KevinTRod Who invented hd dvd?
Are HD DVD Cases that same size as blu-ray or DVD
Same as blu ray cases only red instead of blue

Well, I have more movies than you (over 5,000), but you DO have me beat on HD-DVD's!
