That is a good set up , I fell off a roof about 12 years ago, simply taking the tarp off and there was a bit of dew on the roof sheets , I’ll never forget it and it’s scarred me for life🤦♂️ I’d get up there with that harness 🤙
Insider Carpentry yea mate I get tingles in my fingers and my palms get sweaty with heights now haha terrible , I still work on roofs but I’m so much more careful 👍
AwesomeFramers mate , teaching them at that age to wear that kind of harness is so good, even if I had a harness on site the day I fell , I probably wouldn’t of even put it on because 1- i was “only” going up for a minute and 2- like you were saying about having all that metal hanging off is annoying lol. That set up is great for young blokes , I love how you set it to the overhang and it’s so easy 👍
Any key points on the harness that really make a difference (beside the shock absorber on the back). Getting my first that I will use a couple of times per year for a few days at a time. So many to choose from and not sure if I go basic "fall protection in a bucket" or get spendy.
Hey man, nice video. Roofer here and I’d like to know where you got the cable with two hooks on it for hooking the life line to the front of your harness!
It depends on whether we have staging near the eaves. OSHA rules are at 10' and above fall protection must be used. The harness is just one example of fall protection. There are times I can't avoid it, so this is the gear I use and recommend.

That'll put the fear in ya. Bad feeling.

I'm with you. I have fallen but as I get older and train younger guys I can't shake the feeling of being directly responsible if someone falls.

4:29 - what is the brand and model of that fall protection energy absorber with no metal at the top?
Good review of a rarely-discussed topic
I feel better with my front/back and either side harness for fall restraint set up. Can still wear my Atlas 44 tool vest or not.
Can you make a video showing how you do the knot
it comes that way from Super Anchor Safety

Try them on if you can. The pricier models are much more comfortable, less chafing.
@@AwesomeFramers thanks Tim

Do you always tie off when sheeting ?

Is this the project with "that guy"? I'm going to guess your project is between his house and the water :p
No he doesn't live close, about a 5 minute drive away
Apparently you only fall off the high roofs the once
probably true if you hit the ground
Not true I was working for a framer that slid off two storey while sheeting and was back up before I cut his next sheet..
Ha Ha teaching the new kids lol
