Very nice report and thanks for sharing. Best wishes to Sweden and keep well. For me the Professor Fly will ever be in mind, very good pattern in this brown water.
I wonder if you guys use any top water patterns at low light like in my local waters in Spain for sea trout ???🤔 😍Great clip, I can’t believe you have few guys that don’t like it 😳, very motivational to still see in some part of the world such a healthy population of fish, maybe for beginners is not the best “”how to”” we release fish in parts of the world where fish is in decline, so I think you are getting few haters here on that part. I think you should look at your clips as a valuable source of information for many out there also, I suck on that part, we have to just do better for others that are on the learning curve and improve our C&R fish handling time, it looks like you are on hatchery for Sea Trout monsters 😁 Thank you for the time and sharing, good luck next May. Can’t wait to see it also. Be safe guys. Regards from NJ! Best Mag
Hello from Canada, I am new to Spey fishing and European terminology is different from here. Can you explain what is fishing with the black line mean? Also, can you explain the set up of choice, line weights, tips etc. Thank you.
Thanks man! Black lines is heavy meaning Deep waters up to 850 grains and type 4 and heavier... To explain whole set ups i would need to do a separet film, hmm maybe time for that too! Cheers! M
Hi mate. Thanks for the offer, but I've already bought a pack that is doing the job! I'm trying to scale down my equipment a little. I've bought a salmon scoop net like the trout tennis racket style. I find my gye net so annoying when I'm deep wading or walking through scrub and bushes! I'm trying to get everything strapped to me! Thanks again.
Hi Mikael, greetings from Scotland. Love your videos, especially the big one in steinfossen! I just want to ask, have you always played your fish hard or is that something that has developed over time? I always seem to lose fish when I lower the rod as you do. What’s the secret? Haha. Cheers
@@surfallday6583 The data the treble's outfish singles isn't really great. The single hook is a single point of pressure and which actually sinks deeper. The treb's are just better getting hook ups. Im sure the barbs help a bit, but coming from steelhead fishing where single barbless is often mandatory (even when it isn't singles are way still popular as steelhead tend to have harder mouths then atlantic's) i don't notice a massive difference, From the times i got to fish barbs for other species.
What fish farming issue? You do realise that salmon fisherman (in the broadest term) have killed more salmon in the last 50 years than anything else? 1 female salmon killed on return to its river = 3,000 viable fertilised eggs (that's a low estimate based on the smaller sized fish). If you are that worried about salmon stocks, STOP FISHING FOR THEM! There are many reasons salmon numbers have been declining for the last 50-60 years, Freshwater habitat loss, predators in freshwater and sea water, over fishing, flooding, hydro schemes, seasonal changes in rainfall... to name a few. If salmon farming was the single reason for the decline there would be overwhelming scientific evidence to substantiate this claim. There is not. Rivers all over are seeing the same % of decline which points towards an overriding common denominator. New evidence is pointing towards a very high freshwater mortality (look for work done by the Atlantic salmon trust). If you want start apportioning blame? do your research first.
British Columbia, Canada will phase out 17 commercial salmon farms off the northeast coast of Vancouver Island. They want to restore the migration routes of the steelhead and wild salmon. There is an agreement between the B.C. government and Aboriginal Nations The fish farms are located where there is a major migration route for the steelhead and wild salmon. A Washington land commissioner, terminated the lease of a fish farms because hundreds of thousands of Atlantic salmon escaped . Governor Jay Inslee of Washington state said that fish farms will be phased out in order to rehabilitate the rivers.in the area so that wild salmon can make a strong come back.
so touching for an excellent video

@@frodinflies det vore fantastiskt om du skulle göra en video om sjunklinor, lite tips och sådär! Tack på förhand.
Hey Frodin hope you are well. Love your videos. I was wondering what backpack you are wearing? It looks a really nice compact size. Thanks.
Hi this is a 20 year old William Joseph vest... and yheee its pretty cool!
Thanks Mikael. I think I may be a bit late in finding one! I'll look for something similar. Thanks for your help and good luck with your fishing.
@@salmonninja7223 I got one for sale if you haven't found one yet.

@salmon ninja No worries, i'm glad you found one that you are happy with. Take care!
Good command of English vernacular expressions!
I just realized how much I miss the days of neoprene waders
My comment went through, incomplete!! The other time(s), were in the rivers of Southern Caspian Sea, where they Often grew to 20 Kilos or larger.
you are lucky to have such rivers and fish....i assume no chance to get licences for Em river?
write a letter and ask - it´s not as hard as many think. It might take a few years but you get in there and its worth it for sure!
Nice video! would have been nice to know what equipment you used?

Well.. the longer i fish the harder i play them and the more i get!
I wonder if barbed treble hooks are the reason.

Very Nice Mikael - I have to go salmon fishing one day! What Waders do you wear?
Fantastiske filmer du lager. 👍. Et spørsmål, hvorfor bruker du ikke mikrofon ? 😊
Mvh. Ståle fra Bodø.
haha.. har gjort det men det blir en sak till att släpa på...
You said a limit of 6 fish, meaning you can only catch and release 6 in one day?
Yes thats right
By bag limit, do you mean catching and releasing 6 fish ,then you're done for the day,off the river then?
Ye sir! ... but why not be happy with that and save some for others!
@@frodinflies By all means, sounds splendid to me!I would be very happy with those rules!Thankyou for the reply. Keep well!
Are Mikael fishing with Hardy rod and reel ? No more Guideline ?
Stopped guideline many years ago...

on this trip a prototyp of a reel we will have made in the near future and a Hardy Fortuna

Really far from every european/world mood...when everybody fights against a dramatic situation, someone enjoy "fishing"! It's really a crazy world.
Sweden doesn't have the same strict recommendations and laws as a lot of other countries have.
Very Sadly, the department of Fisheries would Net for them in Caspian Sea, for the wealthy to buy & serve in parties!!
