C8 platform has a plethora of problems especially with the DCT and it is not getting fixed. This is going to be a bigger issue than the ls7 dropping valves.
C8 Z06 for me. The engine inside of it is the best and last of its kind, and is incredibly unique in the era of forced induction cars. Per Tadge, the Z06 will also be faster than the C7 ZR1 over the course of a full track session, puts its power down better, and is better balanced overall due to its mid-engine set up. The ZR1 is a monster, though! It’s a special car, as is the Z06, but for me, I would definitely choose the latter. That LT6 is an engineering masterpiece. Wannabe Ferrari? No, it’s an American Ferrari.
I think your logic is sound. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it. The Z06 is also likely the last of its kind too. That said, I still feel it will lose some value once the ZR1 hits the market. All that aside, Ferrari did make a car which was meant to be marketed in the US, it was called the California edition. It was quite lacking in my opinion and suffered from reliability issues. If I am in the market for a Ferrari, and I just may be one day, I'm buying the mid-engine variety. An F8 or a 488 Pista. Of course these cars are in a different realm all together.
@@RobZelinka Well said! And definitely agreed on the Ferrari, though I am smitten by their front engined V12s also. A mid engine V8 Ferrari, or even the 296 would be an absolute dream to own.
I think the c8z definitely corners and handles better, but the power of the zr1 helps it with laptimes. I'm sure if they ran the c8z for a whole day and sought out the best lap time it could eventually beat it. But the c7 zr1 still has a quicker laptime than a c8z at big willow and VIR. Chevy really should have tried to get a lap at the ring as this car is 100% a sub 7 minute car....and just think the zr1 came with cup 2s and not cup 2Rs....what a pitty....
ZR1 sounds like true American muscle whereas the Z06 sounds more European exotic. I love the true American Muscle sound. Both are excellent choices.....

@@doughooks7411 Congratulations. I too would have preferred to maintain the original wheels as now it's technically not the same car it was from the factor. If that doesn't matter to you, all the better.
I sold my 93 ZR1 for a Hellcat. I enjoyed the Hellcat but I missed the ZR1. I sold it with 3200 miles on it. Sold the Hellcat and bought the 2019 ZR1. It will be with me for as long as I am here.
True but even Sting Rays from 2020 are still selling darn close to what they were. I don't think I've seen anything for under 65k.
More straight piped Robert exhaust.
I like the blue Corvette convertible it looks very nicer than the black one.
If you want absolute exclusiveness then it’s the C7 ZR1…that is the king until the C8 ZR1 enters the conversation…if I was going to the track, it’s probably the C8 ZO6
i have a C4 and C6 ZR1's that i would like to trade for the C7??? C6 has 14k miles, perfect C4 is in great shape for a 91. Let me know your thoughts, both my cars are in Ky. clean clear titles!
C8 platform has a plethora of problems especially with the DCT and it is not getting fixed. This is going to be a bigger issue than the ls7 dropping valves.
The flat plane crank has no bottom end torque. You have to ring its neck all the time to extract the power.
C7 was and is the perfect corvette for me.
I know everybody saying the ZR1 but I'd literally have to drive both of them to figure that out and who knows when that day is coming
Eonderful video, I prefer C8 z06 , but both are genials. How can I Buy one of these? Ivam in Volombia. Thank you. Robert very very funny.
The C6 ZR1 is the best looking Corvette ever made! This C7 ZR1 also looks way better than the non looking like a Corvette C8
Is this ZR1 shadow gray metallic or some shade of blue? It’s a great color.
This is my car now, and it is shadow gray. Awesome color!
Man I love both 👍🏾
If your going to compare C7s to C8s, then compare straight across ZR1 to ZR1…..come on
Is 2 phenomenal cars
C6 ZR1 FTW 😎
Zr 1 all day. How much
Sold. $159,995.
@@corvetteworldrob8586 Holy s*&t, I can't afford it anyways. Congrats to the owner, beautiful car, I love it.
Canard: Sir, respectfully, that's pronounced kuh-NARD, not KAN-yerd. 😉🙏
America doesn't need a ferrari.
I just worry about longevity in a high winding motor, plus that being the last manual transmission car is going to double in value,watch..
Who would be dumb enough to take a hundred grand, that car could sell for a buck fifty in a weekend .
Probably a long time before prices on the C8 get down to C7 level? Buddy, they are dropping, however.
ZR1 all day. My favorite Vette to date. No offence, the C8 does nothing for me.
I’m interested in Both of them someday I hope to purchase them and ship them to Kuwait 🇰🇼 🙏
Uh I always wanted a zr1 but that C8 is sick
I agree 💯 but we're all part of a dynasty called " Corvette"
get both
YES!
ZR1 sounds like true American muscle whereas the Z06 sounds more European exotic. I love the true American Muscle sound. Both are excellent choices.....
They are both 🆒 how about that?
c7 zr1 sounds better and is available with a manual transmission... I'll take the c7, thanks
