That "refreshed motor" was pretty much just out of the junk yard with as little care as possible. Informative video thanks.

You can cut them grooves a lot deeper on your old head stud to use as a chase.

Ive seen several posts on why not to use scotch brite pads because they contain aluminum oxide or something similar. Although ive been at trying to clean this surface for hours and making almost no progress with a shop rag, toothbrush and other nylon brushes. about to say fk it and grab a red scotchbrite like you have, i bought some for this job but that was before i read about not using them.

Jerry when we were trying to guess why the coolant was leaking in your video on the other channel I was wondering if ls motors heads were right and left only, looking here at your block surface it looks like they are, interesting

Will I be ok if I used a scotch bright disk on a cordless drill slow to medium speed?

Help cut thru the trash in the bolt hole and ends up in that slit away from the threads.

What model Milwaukee do you use I went to go get one after seeing how handy yours has been for you and there were three different models there which stopped me in my tracks? Thanks for the informative and great videos as usual.

Is there a reason why you didn't want to paint your heads?

Scrap blade and scotch Brite? O no. That's what air tools are for

A little time on the heads will definitely save you some time later down the road.

But then again looking at the heads both ends look the same.

they are both the same, the Ls motors don't have a left or right head.

So your not worried about the old gasket material going in and around the engine, oil and cooling jackets?
