What a wonderful duo! Who the heck is the pianist???? The violinist is first rate, as is the pianist.
How has no one commented on this performance! Having studied this score extensively along with Ravel's life, I think he would've liked this interpretation. The pianist offers everything you need as an accompanist and has amazing understanding of Ravel.
Now let's talk about this violinist; Wow. She offers the masculine power needed for this piece without breaking a sweat. Her bowing is like the wind, as gentle as a summer breeze or as powerfully serious as a tempest. Her musicianship shines through in each moment, masterfully navigating the jazzy Jewish motifs with a certain "classiness" that I can only believe Ravel would have appreciated. Brava! Sorry for not discovering this sooner, If I had been there...
I think, somebody forgot to mention the pianist's name of the DUO.
Would this be an interesting piece for you to learn?
