    We have 2 males in our family. They are the embodiment of innocence and service. They protect our family with unconditional love. If you have the time to train them with love and discipline, I highly recommend them. Health and Fortune, everyone🙏

    Not all the dutchies are protective it depends on the line of dogs.

      I agree with you about temperament being partially or mainly determined by the lineage. In general, Dutchies, like GSDs, Malinois, Dobies, and Rottis, are very protective. Of course, there are exceptions.

    • @zesprixx
      @zesprixx 6 місяців тому +1

      @@FreeThinker611 Actually theyre not protecting, most are nervous and all bark no bite, very very few dogs of any of these breeds will bite for real and actually stay in the fight. You need a dog of good breeding and training for a protection dog

    spot on! I have a male Dutch and went into it with my eyes wide open and my trainer by my side:))I tell everyone not to get one unless they have unlimited time and energy to match the needs of these exceptional animals! It is all day - every day unending work/play and I love my Fury Baby! Thank you for trying to educate people about this wonderful breed:)

    My Dutch Shepherd is 10. I can’t recommend this dog for regular people. You can get a German Shepard and be very, very happy. If you have the money and enormous amounts of time….. it’s a wonderful animal. You fart or twitch this Dog is on alert to dispatch anything. Picture a meth addict or something. That’s the dog.

      It’s not that hard I have one and a daughter. Single dad life. My DS is a female. Wants to be with you at all times (she’s like my shadow just always there) but when my daughter is outside and especially with friends over she will not leave their side she don’t care about being with me at that point she’s gotta watch the kids. As long as you spend time with them as any dog owner should do and give ‘em chew toys then it’s not that hard. Any pure bred working dog is gonna be the same. Good bred German shepherd are the same way. My uncle has one that’s crazy. Each dog will be different as well

    • @zesprixx
      @zesprixx Рік тому +2

      @@Lexidezi225 Females are easy, theyre handler sensitive and youd have to be a really terrible handler to get on their bad side and that goes for all breeds. The males are a different story, the male dutch shepherds (KNPV Lines, the mixes that come in brindle and fawn) are known to be very rank dominant and very difficult to handle. In general, Dutch knpv shepherds are nothing like a GSD. Im speaking in generalities btw, theres always exceptions but the trend is KNPV dutch shepherds are way too much dog for most people

    • @Lexidezi225
      @Lexidezi225 Рік тому

      @@zesprixx mine is FCI Dutch and yes I agree that males can be more to handle. I prefer females. Knpv most likely means their not purebred. They mix other breeds in them for police work. Not something a regular homeowner should want. Leave those ones for police and military. I’m sure America will ruin this breed like they did the gsd. I paid a lot for my dog and she’s paid off so far! Good luck with your dutchies!

      I have a male dutch shepherd and he is a fuckin menace bro 😂. I spend as much time training and playing with him as I can but he's more than a handful. He's slowly getting better and trainable but dam it's been a struggle 😂

      @@brandonpratt5680This dog is no joke. Better that people get a golden retriever, German shepherd.
      The Dutch Shepherd has no problem jumping 4ft at a complete stop. If it’s moving add several feet. It would be a shame to kennel this animal during the day while at work. Don’t even think about it.
      Dutch Shepherd is a 24/7 friend/family member. This is much worse than a human child. It’s just different.
      Dutch Shepherd will never be a main stream popular dog. Just don’t do it.
      If you have an enormous amount of time. Want something to defend you? Bro have a real good insurance policy.
      It’s something different.
      Get a German shepherd or golden retriever and be happy forever

    My Dutchie is a total goober. I have no doubt he would destroy anyone who walked in the door uninvited or die trying, but outside the house, he is very well behaved. If he gets bored, he harasses his big sister (who's a toy Aussie) and they play fight, and he might steal a sock to chew on occasionally, but he's a great big love. ❤ Maybe it's because he was seriously neglected for part of his young life, who knows. But he's an awesome dog, really smart and affectionate.

    Dutchies, Mals, GSDs, Dobie's, and Rottis should be owned by people that have the time and commitment to properly train them. They tend to be overtly, aggressive/protective. People looking for protection without a major insurance liability should consider a livestock guardian breed like a Great Pyrenees or Anatolian Shepherd. They tend to bark to warn off anything they perceive as threats. If that does not work, they will as a last resort, ferociously attack to defend their charges.

    Only if you don’t have space and time for them. I have a female Dutch shepherd and I marked her to a Belgian malinois and it’s son is the best dog in the world. He is highly trained and will compete in December for mondioring trials. So I can give you 99 reasons on why you should get one. There are no bad dogs. Only bad owners who don’t spend time socializing and training their dog to be obedient and well mannered.

    There's no doubt that Dutch Shepherds can be what you called "assertive". It means that they seem to evaluate whatever you ask of them, and if it doesn't make sense to them, they will make their own decisions. I am not sure there's much difference between males and females in that regard.
