This version was my husbands favorite. At his funeral two men sang it...when I was alone I played it and closed my eyes and I could hear him singing along. (Sigh)

Bobbie and I were married at the Church many years ago. Even before our marriage we both loved this song and would sing it a lot of the time. We traveled from Wisconsin to be married here. It has been a great marriage. Could ask or find any better mate for life here on earth. Proverbs 19:14 - House and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD.

I first heard it on the Andy Griffin Show as well. I heard it for the first time at church yesterday, I didn't know it was a real song until then. The music minister was well aware of it. I think I like the simplicity of the show version.

+fransiscus b There were 8 weddings that day, according to the Church Records. The farthest couple was from California. Attending my parents wedding were my gradmother and my grandmother's sister and husband. (and of course my parents the bride and groom) Had a Great time visiting as it was the 1st time my dad (96 at the time) was back since he got married.

Why go to the bother of using actual pictures of the LBC in Nashua, Iowa but then fill the rest of the video with scenery shots of mountains that can only be found several hundred miles to the west? I grew up in Nashua and I can tell you with great certainty that the topography is relatively flat - I'd give you gently rolling too.
As we played basketball in the driveway or football in the street, we would always be stopped by people who would want directions to the church. We'd always give them directions to Cafe 218 (218 was the hwy that went through the western outskirt of town) and tell them it's towards the east side of their parking lot...because they had a replica of the church there in their lot that stood about 5' tall and was about 7 feet in length.
