Just barely got mine. I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs, I fit very well in it and still have room in the cockpit. At first glance I was going to pass because the pedals are fixed. However when I'm sitting up straight (which everyone should be) I actually have a great position when my feet rest on the 3rd pedals down. Knees slightly bent, and the provided side padding prevents my knees or legs from getting scraped or irritated like cheaper kayaks. So far so good, and it tracks so well in the water =]
Pick mine up this weekend and am super stoked! Thanks so much for the info!
I bought one of those a couple years ago. It's a great kayak for just noodling around spending an afternoon on the water! If I were to do it again, I would get the 12' version just for faster/easier paddling (getting to the coves quicker with less effort).
What Lake are you kayaking on?
does the back part with the "dry bag" ever fill with water while paddling? how do you get it out if it does?
It hasn't for us- but we weren't tipping it over or anything. You can remove it and dump it out though is you need! hope that helps!
The bag that you refer to is not a dry bag. Like you, I end up with water in that holding area as well.
The bag in the back is useless. It needs to be a dry bag. The storage compartment at the bow is not water tight. Water that splashes over the front pools in the storage area. Maybe it is because I am old, but I have a devil of a time getting out of it. The texture of the kayak does not allow for clean accessory attachment. Plenty of leg room. I like the fixed footrests. It is stable. It runs fairly true. The seat isn't the best, but I am comfortable enough. I don't have anything to compare it to as it is my first kayak. Overall, I am satisfied and hang on to it until I sink it.
