"there isnt a single black person who could not achieved what I have if they had the privelege I had: 2 parents in the house and a focus on education" this is facts
He has balls. I gained so much respect when he went there.
As a black woman I agree! Fatherlessness in the black community has been a thing every since 1619 and then it just continued to take hits every decade after 1865 due to Black codes, black massacres in self-sufficient black communities, the Jim Crow & Civil Rights Era, Welfare packages designed to incentivize single mothers and divide homes, Redlining, the war on drugs, unfair policing, school to prison pipelines and the pre-affirmative action days.
This “fatherlessness” has greatly impacted and unjustly inhibited people of color, who are now responsible for explaining why the injustices that created the fatherlessness disparities in their communities are their fault. #inappropriatebehavior
So he’s telling people to change circumstances out of their control, peddle this pro-family/anti-woman conservative viewpoint, and also somehow manage to live in a society devoid of anti-black racism. Got it.
Terming it “race-based preferences” is the issue. AA was a remedy to centuries of exclusion, not just a few decades. It’s also not helping POOR blacks but middle class and wealthy blacks. If you don’t even understand the problem as it stands, you can’t proffer advice on how to fix it.
@@jamieson88 I don't think AA has any use other than in politics only if the minority community is under- represented otherwise even a lame person can realise there is no buisness of race in education
@@jamieson88 Its amazing to see how you equate pro-family with anti-woman, do us all a favor and go back to the kitchen clearly you are not getting into college without AA.
We have an opportunity to fix this country with this man. His views are on point and he's unbelievably good at articulating them.
Glad he stressed the importance of the family structure. That’s where success starts
Truth
Especially if you have a parent or two that went to Harvard.
@@jshawney3355the premise of a two parent household is not of your education value but rather one that instills positive influence for the betterment of an individual. Seems like you missed the point completely.
The racist white nationalists in this country love the place stupid. There are many people alive today who remember not being able to use a public toilet. The Supreme Court ruling is a victory for people who implemented those same racist policies.
@@jasonsuacidal I was referring to legacy admissions but I guess that went right over your head.
His words may be harsh, but he is speaking the truth. How can a child without a father, whose mother relies on welfare, compete with a child whose parents work diligently and are willing to invest in his/her education? The affirmative action is not the solution to this problem. Politicians use affirmative action as a cover-up for their own incompetence.
Well, men and women have done it. People with strong wills and the conviction to succeed. It’s a small % but that’s who. Successful ppl that came from nothing and had nothing and nobody. Just today all these “people” are beyond lazy and their first reaction to this is placing blame. No accountability. No morality
Facts are not harsh. If someone is failing we should all recommend how to fix it, out of love! It is the liars and swindlers who say your not good enough so we need to cheat for you to make it! It creates a society of entitled worthless adults! IE: Liberals!
I have seen this first hand. In my own building nonetheless.
It's not the politician's fault either. People are free and freely make disgusting choices that lead them to produce children they aren't prepared to take care of. Of course, those people are going to do a worse job parenting; they are irresponsible fools. It's not fair to make other people pay for their mistakes.
This is why asian societies succeed imo.
He has good points. I like his position on fatherlessness. He is right.
Most people have good points of peace. Their positions are strong and correct. but do you see that reality on the ground?

What do you mean forced diversity? People should have the right to live, study where ever they choose. This notion or speaking point specifically it seems that black Americans cannot make it on merit is a falsehood that is being perpetuated. Another truth is not everyone is college material regardless of ethnicity.
Why is that? And what's the difference? How about if you used the word assembled instead of forced? Or "allowed"? In college admissions and hiring it's essentially the same. Diversity is good.

Hey Rama.....y
No one can deny the inequity across racial lines. It is a part of American history and, while less an issue today, it still exists. The truth is through our history, a good swath of Caucasian's wouldn't have been selected on merit alone and that has been going on for a long time. I have no issue with considering accomplishment while factoring in the hardship of the road traveled. I have no issue in aiding those with promise who lack the funds. Affirmative action is nothing more than having two comparable candidates and not selecting the Caucasian every time. Now, if that isn't how it was utilized it really isn't a systemic concern, but more evidence that humans will mess up just about everything that comes their way.
What you're describing is not how these policies were implemented in colleges. They are still allowed to look at your individual struggles in making a determination for admission even after the SCOTUS ruling. The reality is that colleges admitted students who performed worse academically on top of coming from less competitive K-12 schools. That's a terrible policy, because the admitted student faces enormous pressure to keep up, and a more prepared student does not get admitted. There are so much data on this topic.
