@@RJ1999x LTL9000 over the General everyday of the week and 2ce on Sunday. A problem with them . If i remember right. The biggest problem with them was they are a heavy truck. The classic "Louisvlle" cab is roomier than a pete. They where a heavy truck.
We have an 88 LTL Cummins power day cab. Very well built truck. Mostly pulls a lowboy or a Landoll. We've had it like 15 years and it hasn't asked for much
@@shellcrackerlover5889 i solely agree with on that!! Ford had a great thing going for them when they made heavy duty commercial trucks. Even if they just produce single axle or day cab tractors with the new chassis, technology and the F750 or 850 cabs they'll dominate the freight trucking sales market
I know I'm an old fart, I drove a LTL9000 day cab, beautiful truck. I just delivered it to our office in Alabama, I ran out of Arkansas. The young guy that got the truck said, it's a nice truck but doesn't pull very good. (300cummims) I said, I know wait till it's out of warranty then turn some fuel to it. I quit long before that happened though. That was back in 1986. Still a beautiful truck today
@@hillbillystacker6936 sorry for just replying back to you two years later lol. I ended up having to sell it last year 2022 cause I had such a hard time getting the right parts for it and it was a huge restoration project for me. Didn't know 2022 would put a bad whopping on me with all the inflation and such.
My first love is the LNT and LTS and the LTL and CLT units. Back when FORD ruled the road. Take your time and do it right! I have one brand new car rite windshield left for that unit.
Great looking LTL. I found one just like it in the woods last year. It’s sat so long a 8 inch diameter tree grew up 5 inches in front of the hood. I always liked the LTLs.
It was an okay truck. I had a 1996 Ford LTL9000 double-frame daycab with Cummins N14-460 / Eaton Fuller 13-speed, 20,000-lbs steer with two gearboxes, 20,000-lbs lift tag, and 46,000-lbs Newway Airride tandem. That was one tough truck that could move mountains. My kneecaps on the other hand took a beating on that lower dash surround.
I drove a 1984 truck like that one back in the late 80’s early 90’s it had the b model cat and 13 speed but had a small bunk and long wheelbase about same color as that one ! Would love to have one again !!
I wish ford semi trucks were still available as well as dodge trucks gmc trucks and Chevrolet trucks as well as dodge trucks rest in peace ✌️ great 👍 trucks
When the Peterbilts and Kenworths seen one of these coming in the left lane they all moved to the right and bowed their heads. The best truck ever built.
Good luck finding parts for these old clunkers shit is difficult my buddy has a blue one and wants to cry everytime something breaks because he has to get it fabricated 9 times out of ten
I miss trucks like this, love the sound of that 3406.Excellent video, thank u for sharing it with us.
Did any of these run the New Holland diesels?
Best looking truck ever built. Even today this classic design is second to none and looks better than anything on the road. Love the Ford LTL 9000!
My dad had a 9000 10 wheeler dump truck that thing was a real work horse. They are sweet looking rides.
I loved the LTL truck, but the General had more class

@@jerrykinnin7941 The General had a nicer cab and interior then the LTL or a pete
Old 359 and a mack superliner would make this video perfect
I ran a few of those back in the mid 80s. They were well built, and very comfortable on long hauls. Definitely one of my favorite trucks.
Love the sound of those old Cats!
Yeah, that sounds like an old B model 425.
We have an 88 LTL Cummins power day cab. Very well built truck. Mostly pulls a lowboy or a Landoll. We've had it like 15 years and it hasn't asked for much
Hands down the best looking truck ever built! To date! The LTL 9000
I agree, as do many people. Ford needs to re-enter the heavy truck market!

Agreed
Good old reliable truck! I think that's still the heaviest hood ever made lol
I had forgotten how Ford made such a beautiful truck back in the day.
You’re talking like you don’t like the new Engine emission trucks
I drove one back in the early 90s with a silver 92 Detroit and loved it. Not only a sweet looking truck but also user-friendly.
