Was in auld Carrickfergus lately, lovely old boat for sale in the harbour, had a grand roll and coffee , saw the ferries pass and stood on those old walls in the wind and salt. Great rendition friend Mary.
Oh no, such sad news. I never met Gregory but he always encouraged me to write poetry and encouragement from such a fine artist was much appreciated. I think this is his finest performance and it is the one I will remember him by.
Just recently came across marycigaretts, so beautiful and tender, his voice is so expressive, such have a joy to listen to..".Last Year's Ghost " and acompening video, is the best ...ever. Senses overload. ...
I found this video and this ballad, which I have never heard before, by chance. I checked out other versions on u-tube, but none of them came even close to yours. There is a yearning, a feeling of regret and a feeling of place in this song and you have captured it perfectly. Just a guy with a guitar, a folk ballad and an amazing voice...but this moves me. Life is good Kind regards, Peter
This is remarkable. One of the purest performances I have ever witnessed. The guitar is fabulous with the simple strumming paired with perfect tapping. Your voice is so clean and clear. Very touching. You just earned yourself another subscriber!
You know how it feels to get a load of clean sheets out of the dryer, and before you start folding them you just hold them close and feel the warmth soak in all over you? Well that's what I do with your voice.
I have gone from thundering to unplugged, in zero to 60 ,...just my modus operandi:-) .you are totally amazing.....such a be-utiful rendition love yer percussives...sound is awesome too..10 by 10 star 4u..big applause!!!! LaurieLee
Hi Gregory, On a different UA-cam page, I put up some poems while I was in high school, found your music, and we exchanged some comments. Listening to your tunes now, especially Nobody Really Knows, If You Could See Me Now, and this one. Hope all is well. Trevor
GADS Paul, is this not delicious? I LOVE this !!!!!!!! I hope you have seen the vid collab posted yesterday (BigLoveZone/MaryC)......like going to church:-).....
Paddy Reilly does a nice interpretation of this song & captures the flavor & the nationalism inherent in the Irish pub scene! Your rendition however is so haunting & emotional & goes beyond the spirit of the song! It's suppose to be in Carrickfergus, but u take it somewhere else...& we're with u all the way!
Oh shit! This IS gonna make me cry....it's late at night and i am a couple of beers down....I remember the days of the Perfect Crime..i was there..........so so many memories..yes good and bad.....bye....gonna watch it to the end....now where are those fekin tissues!! red beans and lentils from Kaapstad
@xxpiggystardustxx yes..i love the place, and i miss it terribly...and yet i know there's no going back ....i do go back there in the literal sense, but when i'm there i see and talk to more ghosts that actual living people . ireland is a great place...a real blessing to have been brought up there.i hold it very close.....hiraeth is exactly the word for it.
Roe says when are you coming to visit ? Caitlin plays guitar and keyboards , has taken up tin whistle and just bought herself a fiddle but her voice is an instrument too .
