So many fond memories this drive brings back. 20 years ago and more we use to rent an old ranch guest house right on the side of Hwy 78 just south of Absarokee for three weeks every summer. It was our base camp for fishing, hiking, and sightseeing. Woodbine, Stillwater River, Beartooth Highway, Chief Joseph Highway, East and West Rosebud, Lightning Lake for Golden Trout, Yellowstone, Sioux Charley Lake, Cody Wyoming, The Pryors. So many wonderful memories! For two plus decades I have worked too much and played too little. It's way past time for me to flip that equation around. I am coming back to Montana for a long stay this summer and many more to come God willing.
My son and I are coming over to America in 2027 from New Zealand we are planning to start in Seattle the do Oregon California,Nevada,South Dakota, Montana Idaho, and back to Washington you vids are amazing I've only just found your channel but I will say they are one of my favorites amazing roads and love how you film it really enjoy it 😊
I don't always remember the temperatures on rides, it changes constantly with location and we don't have a temp gauge on the bike. Red Lodge is always colder by about 10 degrees give or take. On this ride since we have on full face and jackets, it was probably in the low 50's starting out. Once we got to Columbus and joliet it was about 60 degrees but it didn't get much warmer on this day even though the sun was shining. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@trevorbinkowski3676 May in the Red Lodge Montana area can still be snowy & or cold, Beartooth Highway does not open until Memorial Day, sometimes later due to snow. During the first couple of weeks of June it can close at anytime due to snow. We don't get warmer weather until mid June and by warmer I mean 50/60's. The lower Elevations (Joliet, Columbus, Billings, Lovell wyoming) Are warmer, in the 70's. Anything in the high country above 4,000 feet is tricky in May on a motorcycle. (Red Lodge sits at 5,500 Ft elevation, Beartooth Highway at 10,900) You will have to watch the weather very closely. Any Mountain passes may have ice/snow on the roadway. Safe travels to you.
I can even feel the breeze!!.. Thank you !!!
I always hope that the viewer feels like they are experiencing the ride. Thanks for watching!
