Absolutely one of my favorite releases on the channel. 7MD and Varien did well and amazed I think most of us, albeit a weird collaboration between the two.
I like Neo-Tokyo the least of all the four parts. It's still really good, though, which is just a testament to how much of a masterpiece the entire track is.
When it came out, I didn't listen to it much because of the different style. How stupid of me. The EP is so good and I never would've guessed Monstercat would change their layout to this for every upload in the future.

As soon as I clicked on the video I scrolled to the comments sections to see what everyone thought of the EP. About a minute into the song I was disgusted that Varien would produce such garbage. I scrolled up to pause the video only to realize I was listening to an Ad. Then I listened to the song(s)... I was impressed. 10/10 nice job guys!
Most people think that a great collaboration involves the mixing of 2 or more artist's styles. This one however, picks a melody and tempo so absolutely perfect for both artists that they can both flourish independently from each other and sort of tag team their styles throughout the entire mix.
+Benjamin Adler I feel there's a bit of mixing in each part, but I can definitely hear it. For example, Neo-Seoul is very much dominated by 7MD's style, while Neo-Tokyo sounds a lot more like Varien.
I feel like Neo-Seoul and Neo-Tokyo fuse the two's styles, but Aeon Metropolis feels far more like a 7MD track, and goodnight_sequence sounds dominated by Varien.
this isnt an EP. this is one song. the "songs" are actually different parts to this one song. it tells a story. why this story isnt known to more people beyond just 900k is beyond me, as this is literally the best song/ep of 2014 on monstercat, and nothing will change that for me.
This track gives me memories back when i was a freshman in highschool. Listening to this song. It has been two years since the release of one of my favorite EPs monstercat has released. 7MD and Varien are amazing artist. And props go to them for making such a memorable song!
Three years later, and holy crap, this EP is underrated as hell. It's only gotten three quarters of a million views over all this time? For such an amazing EP combined with such simple visuals that still manage to tell a whole freaking story? God, that's sad.
This is Monstercat's best song ever, it's beautiful, it's mysterious, it's relaxing, and the way the two artist combined their unique music styles into a 14 minute compilation is just perfect, and dosent get the amount of spotlight that it deserves.
This really sounds like it couldn't have been made by two people, Varien's and 7MD's styles blend so well in this song that you wouldn't be able to tell it was a collab if you weren't told. It feels like they just merged into one person before making this.
Hands down the best EP on Mcat(imo haters). All four songs are amazing but the one that stands out to me is Neo-Tokyo, its been my favorite song since it was released and that still holds true more than a year later. Incredible.
There is a story in the background, in the beginning, you hear to youthful voices asking, " where are we? ", " The Future ". then later in the background, when everything is pink and little dots is coming out of the white light in the center, a little bit to the right you see a billboard in red, and occasionally says ALERT, and shows two kids, a young boy and a girl, and through further observation, they were wearing old fashiony clothes, why is that? cause they are YOU. In Neo Seoul, the dubstep intensifies, and gives you the feeling that you are being chased, ON PURPOSE. and then, when Neo Seoul ends, the song muffles, and then the words : "Neo Tokyo" replaces Neo Seoul, so showing that you ran far enough to another city. The muffling, to me, is them coming into a tunnel, like a train or something idk, then the song changes completely, showing that you are new there, and they aren't supicious of you, and a little bit further, you hear this robots voices, starting at 5.00, could show that you are trying to communicate with the surrounding and you appear to be stuck, seeing how you don't understand them. After that, you'll notice that the dubstep is beginning to sound alot like Neo Seoul. It could be that they are sending you back to Seoul to get help. ( at 7.50 ) Then you hear a familiar intense beat slowly rising, then everything is orange, possibly the evening. I have no idea what happens after that, why don't YOU fill it in for me? When I saw the announcement video for the EP Release of Mirai Sekai I got really excited because it was to be released on Sep. 1st (which is my birthday) So I listened to this and can I just say, what a wonderful birthday present! At first I didn't like 7MD but now I'm on the bandwagon. I'm impressed I mean is in my top 10 but now he's tied with 7MD. This is great album, my second favorite from MC in fact. The first is the fold pt. 1
I was 24th to see it. I still can't get enough of this. Only thing I can say is that it's just perfect music to help you do your homework, but not deconcentrate you.
Neo-Seoul really captured the essence of today - and probably tomorrow's Korea. Relentlessly marching towards the future, but the melancholic lament of its tragic past and lost traditions leaves a bitter taste in one's mouth.
This is how I understand this. Two kids get stuck in the far future. They are stuck in a metropolis. "Where are we?", asks the girl. The boy replies "The future." They go through the world of Mirai Sekai as they go to through the metropolis. They get chased by some kinda police and want to get caught by some kinda corporation that wants to hyptonize them and make them taken over by the AI. They luckily escape.. then they escape and walk through NEO-SEOUL but when seeing that they escaped, the AI shuts down the city, the two kids get caught and they are now calmed down, stuck in the freeze chamber. It all calms down.. and it all ends with a big meltdown after all, they somehow wake up in NEO-TOKYO and continue their journey. It's year 4000, they go through the city and see lots of rebels fighting for justice in the future. Their guess would be that they either went in hyper sleep or were stuck in a cryo-bay. After their little walk, they join a team of rebels which help them fight the robot police who rule the streets. "We found the two kids.. they are under control.", said one of the cops though the rebel team detected them with a scanner and shooted them with laser guns. At the night of the future, they were forced to go into the base of the rebels. The next day.. they got caught by the cops.. the rebels were caught but they escaped. After all, there was no chance to survive.. so the sunshine of the city was now over. The AI had some kinda error in it and shut down the city.. putting the whole citizenship into long sleep. *The end*

I didn't really like the mix at first, but I decided to give it a second listen, and boy am I glad I did! Maybe it was the fact that I was doing homework or something, I found such beauty in it the second time, and the fact that they blend so seamlessly, makes it all the better. Big props Varien and 7 Minutes Dead, couldn't have expected less!
Honestly, I give 7 Minutes Dead most of the credit here, because it seems to be made mostly of his sound styling and what-not. But the two of them completely outdid themselves on this album!

I hope every EP Release gets something like that in the future. Some announcements of EPs were just like "Hey I do an EP", but this one was surely epic. I was not always a big fan of 7 Minutes Dead, but his collabs with Varien are too perfect. Both deserved the hype, and it was not for nothing :) Good job
From most of the recent songs on monster cat, these are probably the best I have heard out of all of them. I don't know what it is, but a lot of the songs lately haven't really caught my fancy. Props to Varien and 7md.
This song is beautiful also the background is I love how there is the signs that say Varien, 7 minutes dead and even a Monstercat logo if you look hard enough at the buildings. But the actual song is outstanding and just fantastic. "Mirai Sekai" actually means "Future World" so ya that makes a little more sense. I usually don't listen is there an or seven minutes that but this song will definitely want me to listen to more of their songs. I especially love how its in four different parts, but still only one song. They have done an amazing job at this song and I think it's spectacular
Simply outstanding. There's really been nothing quite like this on Monstercat to date with the beautiful visuals and the amazing power of Varien and 7 Minutes Dead. Each song has a unique identity with Neo-Seoul building up the oncoming storm, Neo-Tokyo producing a melodic calmness, Aeon Metropolis going absolutely bonkers with its fast pace and Goodnight Sequence producing an astonishing end with its beautiful vocals. I love this EP so much that I am writing a fan screenplay myself as to what I believe a Mirai Sekai film would be like (and yes, it involves the two children seen in the trailer).
The music is amazing, 7 Minutes Dead and Varien should do more songs together and the animation in the background is pretty cool too with the flying cars and the futuristic artwork to go with the song. It even has the 7 Minutes Dead, Monstercat, and Varien Logos

Yes, this is apparrently Monstercat's future. Monstercat starts out with bass drops, and gets more and more chill.
I hope every EP Release gets something like that in the future. Some announcements of EPs were just like "Hey I do an EP", but this one was surely epic. I was not always a big fan of 7 Minutes Dead, but his collabs with Varien are too perfect. Both deserved the hype, and it was not for nothing :) Good job

From most of the recent songs on monster cat, these are probably the best I have heard out of all of them. I don't know what it is, but a lot of the songs lately haven't really caught my fancy. Props to Varien and 7md.
I've been thinking. They should turn this EP into a movie! The plot the goes with the music would make an excellent screenplay.

This song is beautiful also the background is I love how there is the signs that say Varien, 7 minutes dead and even a Monstercat logo if you look hard enough at the buildings. But the actual song is outstanding and just fantastic. "Mirai Sekai" actually means "Future World" so ya that makes a little more sense. I usually don't listen is there an or seven minutes that but this song will definitely want me to listen to more of their songs. I especially love how its in four different parts, but still only one song. They have done an amazing job at this song and I think it's spectacular

Simply outstanding. There's really been nothing quite like this on Monstercat to date with the beautiful visuals and the amazing power of Varien and 7 Minutes Dead. Each song has a unique identity with Neo-Seoul building up the oncoming storm, Neo-Tokyo producing a melodic calmness, Aeon Metropolis going absolutely bonkers with its fast pace and Goodnight Sequence producing an astonishing end with its beautiful vocals. I love this EP so much that I am writing a fan screenplay myself as to what I believe a Mirai Sekai film would be like (and yes, it involves the two children seen in the trailer).
This is why 7 minutes dead is the best. This song should inspire people to think more about the future and to make the future better.
I personally like Neo-Tokyo the most, the track has such an amazing groove to it, it's just incredible!

The music is amazing, 7 Minutes Dead and Varien should do more songs together and the animation in the background is pretty cool too with the flying cars and the futuristic artwork to go with the song. It even has the 7 Minutes Dead, Monstercat, and Varien Logos
Varien and 7 Minutes Dead are two of Monstercat's best artists, it's good to see them get some well-deserved recognition
