The arms were designed that way so you could recreate the handshake to initiate the combination the show did. It's such a cool little detail.

Omega Prime's designer Hisashi Yuki apparently went to a series staff meeting to personally talk to the director and ensure the combination stock footage had that detail. Man was dedicated to his design.

But does this apply to an obscure Optimus Prime? I think they really meant G1 or more known versions. RID Prime isn’t really popular so I think that gives it room to be used.

If you look closely at RiD Magnus' chest, next to either of the wheels you'll notice a blue block. One has two circles cut out into it (one over the other with a lighter blue square inbetween) and the other has two squares cut out og it in the exact same configuration.
Now look at his weapon and you'll notice that on either it's two prongs you've got a set of circular pegs and a set of square pegs.
Why yes, these are indeed meant to plug into the chest while in robot mode in order for him to hold up his weapon. If the sound works, it will even play different sounds depending which side you have it plug in to (the light blue squares are actually buttons).

he dream would be to have access to the predecessors to Omega Prime and successors to Victory Saber the Braves, modern engineering on those would probably end up blowing transformers fans away
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer brave series products with modern engineering do exist- they're just not made by Takara-Tomy anymore (they haven't touched the brave and eldran series in a very long time)- the only downside is that most of these figures are very expensive:
For example a company called Sentinel made a fully modernized Super fire dagwon kit- but fire and power dagwon are 450$ each

@@Xeno-The-Wanderer While I would love for such a thing to happen I doubt it will- besides Bandai has a really good track record with mecha/robot toy engineering which I think has Hasbro and Takara beat by a long shot- same goes for other companies. The only downside is that a good chunk of it is ridiculously expensive- I'd buy Sentinel' Super Fire Dagwon in a heartbeat if it wasn't so damm expensive- 900$ on BTS

I have wanted an updated version of these for the longest time. I keep hoping a third-party will do an MP scale of both of them (maybe Fans Hobby with their tendency to go for various toy generation Primes).
That's what I loved about old RID, Chrome. There's so many neat accents here. I had these two and Megatron, and scourge. Even Scourges whole trailer was chrome.

My guess for the "omega" release for Haslab, would be Cybertron Primus. He did come with the "Omega Lock".
Getting Omega Prime as a Haslab would allow them to add T-AI as a Tier Unlock.

You're supposed to plug the stock of Magnus' gun into the blue "armpits" on either side of his chest to help hold it up. In truck mode, you can also tab the roof ramps into the sides of the cage walls so they can stay elevated.

Came here to say this. Plugging it in to his armpits also activated various sound effects depending on which configuration you use, too.
You're half right. What you left out is that those posts need to plug in to those ports to activate the sound effects for that specific weapon mode. In fact each post features differently shaped slots and posts for that specifuc reason.

@@raydenlord I disagree. It goes without saying when you're mindful of the sound gimmick in the first place. If someone isn't, then they probably haven't tried to manually trigger each of the combos and discover that. I say that because TGG strikes me as falling into that category.
I feel as though considering that Tidal Wave is next year’s Titan and he can combine with Megatron in a weird way, what I feel they’ll do is that they’ll release Fire Convoy as a commander in 2026 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of RiD2001 and release Magnus as a Leader Class; not a commander
This would also track with the similar style of super mode as Siege Galaxy Leader Prime/Ultra Magnus as well
With the rule that no Optimus can be a Haslab, I am very doubtful. But maybe one way to get around this could also be that they release a mainline RID 2001 OP in retails and then do Ultra Magnus as a potential crowdfunding project. Also very doubtful but it’d be cool

Oh the nostalgia! These two figures were what brought me back to Transformers after G1 ended. They will always have a special place in my heart. While I think that the Omega level surprise is going to be an Animated Omega Supreme, I would for sure back a Haslab set of these guys as well. So either way if it's one or the other, I'm there assuming financing permits.

I owned the Costco 2-pack dark blue version of Magnus and I can say that you missed a step for the carrier mode. The ramp section that sticks off his back actually extends from the backpack in transformation and plugs into holes on the side frame panels for a more secure, elevated appearance in carrier mode. Absolutely sucks to do iirc but it’s there.
Either way tho, glad you enjoy Magnus and the combined form more than I did as a kid. Despite how impressive both are, I absolutely hated the pair because of just how hard to pose they were without having all those bits falling off or them just falling over. Definitely more for the shelf than for fiddling with imo.

I have these figures, thou I not messed with them in ages, they still are visable on top of my bedroom cupboard, I got them about five maybe six years ago, not sure as its been ages but mine is complete and there is a unoffical mode where you add on OP parts from the battle mode to make him look a bit more wilder, if Hasbro & takara does do this guy as a Haslab, I would be down for it, legacy Armada Optimus is awesome, while the RID2001 Omega prime is one of the most impressive looking combos of Prime and another bot from that era, plus the intro of it was pretty awesome in the show and that quote he used before letting the Predacons and Decepticons have the main course!😁

Honestly I don't see either of these guys NEEDING to be Commanders vs just Leaders. Fire Convoy maybe, since he has a lotta play features like the huge ladder cannon, but his super mode is incredibly simple so I can see it either way.
God Magnus though, like; they're already BARELY justifying Commander 86 Ultra Magnus by over-engineering him more than he deserves, so with God Magnus, I think he'd be just fine as a Leader class.
If they stick to using Magnus as a weaponizer, then this could easily work out as a Haslab. It did for Victory Saber.
Well maybe an armorizer? since that will the the theme kinda like Tidal Wave+Armada megatron?

I still have my omega prime from when I was a pre-teen, I've lost some of the smaller parts but I still have most of all that makes up omega still lol. I need to find my missing parts xD
BTW I'm sure you just forgot or never saw the instructions for the toy originally or something but that blue peg between magnus arms. That's how he holds it together or in the right or left arms and makes more sounds depending on if you peg the guns into both blue parts or only the left or right peg if what I'm saying makes sense
They said they will never do Prime as a Haslab, and considering the recent dive into Animated, it's quite possible an animated inspired Omega Supreme/Ark.
I would love for the HasLab to be Omega Prime, unfortunately when they said they weren't going to do Optimus Prime, they also said they wouldn't do him under non-Optimus Prime names either. So no "Ginrai" in order to sneak in Powermaster Optimus Prime for example. Plus if they DID do Omega Prime - they wouldn't be able to repaint RiD Prime yellow and give us a "G1" Sentinel Prime.
In my opinion, THIS is what the Siege Magnus mold should have been used for. He literally transforms like a fusion of Rid UM and Optimus Prime's supermode. (Bits attack at more or less the same place too)
I'm hoping they don't do this as a HasLab, just so a yellow Prime is also done.
What I have been expecting for the next HasLab, by how they long ago said it was going to be something from G1, and the amount of War Dawn we have gotten, is those Energon Trucks with Energon Cubes Megatron snuck in that turned out to of been his troops.
I feel like convoy could probably just be a legacy commander class and not a haslab. I’d rather keep haslab for more niche figures from the comics or big figures that wouldn’t sell in Titan class.
Omega probably doesn’t refer to omega supreme as the Titan class is good enough anyway and if they wanted to redo him then they could just rerelease him.
Edit: they may be talking about an energon omega supreme though which would be interesting.
Or maybe Animated Omega Supreme with the focus on Animated redos, who knows?
Ultra Magnus carrier mode was slightly miss transformed... upper part near front of truck slides up away from the cab section then tabs into the side panels

Just so you know you can slap a bunch of Prime's firetruck parts on Omega Prime. The feet are missile pods that can attach to his ankles, the gloves can be attached to magnus's arm-stumps so he has 4 full arms, etc. If you're feeling really brave you can even get the water cannon / ladder to sit on top.

this is just wishful thinking, but I kinda want haslab to cover team chaar from tf animated (the first team. yeah apparently theres another one after that) oil slick should be a deluxe, cyclonus a voyager (while trying to not make him a retool/remold of the kingdom figure but they probably might) spittor and strika both as leaders (86 dinobot hight as well), and blackout as a commander. I suggest splitting the parts count of the haslab unicron for all five figures and have a great set off of that. again it’s wishful thinking, but still, would be nice. :)
I really want both of them separately i dont at all care about the combination but i love the vehicle modes the car carrier that actually carries cars is awesome and that fire truck is just perfect
The best thought while watching this vid? An updated version could actually have & use it's articulation because it wouldn't be weighed down (quite literally) by the sound gimmicks

Man! I wish modern Weaponizers acted a bit more like RiD Magnus. I love the gimmick as it is now, but I would love it so much more if we could do more Super-Robo-style combinations with them!
