Thank you for an honest take on the game. I’ve been playing this game from the beginning and this is the least amount of fun I’ve had off launch. The xp path is a joke. The cap wouldn’t be such a problem if they didn’t also slash xp earned in half. On top of that, they kept the xp path loaded with trash rewards like banners and unlockables that no one cares about. There’s nothing worse than a days worth of grinding for a banner with a tiger on it. There’s no content. Last year we had 3 mini seasons. They changed the goals every so often and added. We got random programs way more often. Team affinity wasn’t done in a day. There’s nothing to do. There’s no stubs to be made. There’s no fun to be had.

100% agree with you. Working dad here who plays at night when the kids and wife go to sleep lol. This game has so much potential and the fact that it’s April and great cards are in pay walled packs and it’s hard to find a reason to play right now is bad. They made many fatal flaws but one that stands out is why would you drop 40,000 Stubbs for a “chance” to get the card you want only for the card to be unusable in the future???? Maybe one solution would have been to make cards you buy exclusively in packs to be valuable year round? One other major issue I have is this with online…who wants to spend a half hour plus to play a game to earn 2,000 xp?????? They destroyed the online card earning opportunities as well. They have driven the card market to the better players and that’s a shame

While that card in packs will soon be usurped by some free ta cards that will be dropped to everyone. I saw a streamer score 23 runs in a br game and got 2300 xp from that. That’s a criminal offense by $D$, the huge nerf to xp. Seasons needs to be deleted and we need xp/inning programs again with tradeable rewards. There’s no tradeable rewards in the xp path anymore, I used to make hundreds of thousands of stubs from xp programs, now it’s a big fat zero. I wonder why they did that… Oh ya MLB the shop 24 and $D$
You hit the nail on the head. Corporate greed is killing another game. Poor marketing pre launch caused by lower marketing allowance. Game breaking bugs caused by no testing and lower development expense. And finally releasing too many packs for new cards to increase micro transactions revenue before NCAA football is released. Low cost but want same high revenue. I am sure the cost to use MLBPA and legends has increased but cutting development and testing to save money was a huge mistake.
NCAA will be a disappointment too. You don’t think EA is going to release it without trying to squeeze $$ out of gamers?? LOL. People seem to think they are just gonna release a better version of NCAA 14. That was 11 years ago. This new NCAA will be loaded with microtransactions…for sure.
MLB best feature is to be a card collecting game that’s accessible for all players at some capacity. They decided to gate keep 90% of the cards in packs or xp caps They’ve dug their own graves this year. And they’ll have to deal with the consequences if they don’t turn it around quick
Not only are stubs hard to come by, but if I buy one of these 92 cards for 90k, it will be out shined by a TA that comes out in a week. Power creep with sets and seasons makes 0 sense
150 million percent. Seasons needs to be deleted next year, you can’t fix it. It just doesn’t work. Spend 40k if ur lucky earn a 55k card for it to get usurped by a free card in a week. What a concept $D$! Absolute brainiacs over there, it’s clear they’ve lost some people and/or the suits sold us out but ya I don’t think they can fix 24. It’s just got too many systemic issues. Stubs are hard to come by for many reasons… because they made the entire xp path unsellable. In 22 the whole xp path was sellable and you could make hundreds of thousands of stubs every new drop.
Almost feels like they want you to play less. Xp cap, no programs, power creep makes no since to waste time or money when new higher overall specialty packs come out in a week
You can't even make stubs trying to flip the market. As glad as I am that we no longer have to face CAPs in DD, it affected the market on equipment drastically. In previous years I made a killing flipping gold equipment. Now this year all I've found reliable is silver live series players at around 50-60 stubs a card (and that has even stopped working the last 48 hours as the gaps have all drastically closed). Theres no way folks are spending 40k on packs when they're trying to finish collections with the amount of net loss pulling a base round.
The entire game needs an overhaul. The exclusive sinker/cutter viability meta… sucks The power creep constantly being reset with seasons…. Sucks The pack costs…. Sucks Co-op lack of pxp and connection problems…. Sucks The same stinking graphics for 4 years….. sucks.
I’m very happy with my decision to wait and see before I buy, this is exactly what I thought would happen, great game first few weeks and then completely different after 1 or 2 patches.

The games where I can be leading by 4-5 runs then everything my opponent start launching home runs and hits in the gap forcing the game to be tied. I would still be playing MLB the Show 20, if they hadn’t nuked the servers. Thankful for Gamepass.
The whole thing is a dumpster fire. The gatekeep and xp slog is a problem. The seasons/sets is a thing that just doesn’t work in ultimate team modes, but nice try $D$ but you failed. There’s no real way to make stubs in this game beyond being lucky in packs or flipping the market or being extremely good, those are ur 3 ways. Most people can’t do any of those. You used to be able to make huge stubs from xp programs as they had sellable rewards, not anymore! The pack content is gatekept but another thing is it’s not even interesting. It’s not enticing to open packs. There’s no real upside, open a 40k pack to make maybe 15-20k stubs that’s nothing…. If you go into a madden or fifa game the packs will at least have real upside to them. Then because of seasons you lose value on ur pack cards as new free cards come into the game and destroy your tradeable cards value. Not to mention in June you’re gonna have a complete reset and are people really gonna want to play with 89s again after using 99s? I doubt it. Are people gonna grind this long xp slog again? I doubt it. Seaons/sets needs to be deleted for good in MLB 25 and they need to get back to delivering good program content or this niche franchise is toast. We’re 2 years removed from all things in the xp programs being sellable. Last year they introduced unsellable xp path rewards and now our entire xp path is nerfed into the ground with all unsellable items. We need inning/xp programs again with real tradeable rewards. I remember making a killing grinding those xp programs when they dropped in mlb 20-22. Man i found it so insulting that they will live stream after bad patch or a bad early release and act like nothing is wrong. After the funko pop patch they live streamed the easter stuff and just acted like one of the funnies and goofiest things didn’t just happen
Ignore all game modes in MLB The Show 24 except Franchise mode and Homerun Derby. Dont care about cards or packs. Thats all the stuff thats unnecessary. Focus on franchise and they will start to get it.
I played heavy off launch and have been playing the show for years now, but this game just doesn’t hit the same anymore, and I’ve been playing less and less. I hope they can do smth to fix it

my problem is they keep going into the pay for packs route but only keep adding the minimal amount of legends every year. At this point there is no excuse why they shouldn't have almost everyone that has played in MLB. This would allow them to keep doing packs and other paid content while giving players other ways to grind for other cards. But since the roster is limited we feel stuck with lesser players why the guys we want are behind said packs.
Commenting while watching, when you hit 18 min in you really started giving a lot of undue benefit of the doubt to the world of p2w model/company decisions.
The region locked cards that they gave out, then pulled down when the codes leaked online, those were bullshit. They should hand those out to everyone for free. Been grinding the team affinity mini seasons for packs, having to play 14 games to get 28 packs is tedious and I’m fairly certain I’ve only gotten 1 Diamond card out of them, and it was a bat.
Concerning the Pipeline packs (and other packs they launched outside of a program), I think it shows how "necessary" it is for them to bring back sets in collection. If at least those packs came with a collection set with rewards, it would maybe entice me into buying some. Since last year, they really went the opposite way with what collecting cards is all about. Did I use them all? Not at all. Would it give us multiple cards of one player? Of course. Yet, it made card hunting fun and I could focus on the rewards I wanted. Right now, I don't feel like collecting 400 cards of one set just for one card that will not bring me anything. You mentionned stubs. Maybe completing a set like Veteran cards for example, could reward you with stubs instead of card #6 of any player. I really miss the days when you had multiple collections (like Allstar, Rookie, Awards, etc.) instead of just one giant collection set. Ideally, they should (IMO) bring back the multiple sets giving multiple rewards for completion AND keep one big collection set per season for big rewards.
They are trying to slow roll the hell out of content to be in line with power creep and then trying to throw packs in store to make it look like they are doing something. They think their window for content is much wider than it is. Haven’t played much in a couple days because frankly it’s way too boring. Can’t recall ever turning the game off out of boredom this many times ever.
I'm offline DD only and finding that there's really not much for me to do. I know playing offline is my choice and there would be more for me to work towards if I played online but I'm just not really interested in playing much online. Lack of offline DD content wasn't an issue at all for me in '22 and '23 (I started with '22). I can agree that there was too much content for most people to get through with all of the programs plus online plus how much content Team Affinity alone had but this seems like a big overcorrection. Now I don't have much if anything to do within DD so I've gone back to '23 (which had its own issues) or I'm playing other games altogether. I stuck with '22 and '23 for months and months only to lose most of my interest in '24 within a couple of weeks. The season path is also a slog to get through so far. It feels awful to me. Maybe it goes much faster if you play online (I don't know because I play offline lol) but it feels horrifically slow compared to past Shows. Not only is the XP gain slow for me there's also a daily XP cap that is lower than previous games. I only hit the cap one time early on after release but if you only have a day or two to play and you're trying to catch up then you might hit a wall sooner than you would like. They haven't been giving out good amounts of XP in the offline programs either, so it's just been a slow crawl. I've fallen behind because I've stopped playing as much and at this point it's like, forget it. I'm probably not going to be able to catch up without huge chunks of XP given out in upcoming programs.
Thank you for talking the truth. But I gave up with DD right after the Egg Hunt. Not offline friendly. Franchise all the way now. And I will not go back to DD this year. And most likely will not make the purchase next year. Only if they make a completely new game that is not money hungry. And Franchise and RTTS get the major upgrade that is well overdue.
So I asked you last season if you thought Bungie's financial issues would cause Sony to end up messing with the monetization of MLB the show 24... Pretty sure you said you didn't know much about the Bungie situation... either way, I can definitely feel the monetization this season.. These 30,000 packs with cards you can't earn any other way? The whole Vlad Jr. collection of cards you can't earn in game.. I thought it might be bad I never thought it would be this awful.. I think it's completely Sony trying to make up for Bungie but just my opinion.. Love the content as always
I don't know if it's a me thing but I feel that gameplay gets even worse in co-op. Check swings don't work half the time and I still get meter glitches every know and then. Also yesterday got 3 good time with good pci pop ups while the other team got multiple late and just late homeruns. Legitimately just wanted to uninstall.
At no point in the past 3 years could I say I was playing franchise mode this early in the year. There is little content that has dropped that has any sort of grind since day 1. I should never be able to get on the game with nothing to grind. Not a good sign
First The Show I haven't bought since 2018. I'm not paying for a live service game I bought last yr. Why grind for crappy cards when I can just use all the bad ass 99s and play last yrs game? After all the game is the same, no significant changes tp the game itaelf. My evenings are free from the grind and I don't feel like I'm missing anything at all.
There turning this into EA more every year. We offline cats have known this for yrs but it was all good for you DD dudes..... till it wasnt. We all have to pool together, regardless of mode you play and let them know right from the rip that we will not stay if this is the road they want to go down. Another reason gameplay sucks is there maxed out because they won't drop last gen. This game will never progress I'd they don't drop last gen.
Yeah man i never got mlb the show 23 so ive been playing 22 for the past two years before this one. I gotta say the hitting in diamond dynasty is fin weird and rugged as hell. 22 was smooth as hell. The hitting is definitely worse and the overall quality of this game is if anything worse. It pisses me off to no end when the game doesnt work how its supposed to and ive been getting that a lot since 24 came out
Currently I got 15-0 in ranked but can't even win 4+ BR games in a single run😂 BR is never being nice to me. Matching to WS or flawless player back to back early in the run, pinpoint is useless when runner's on base, always gets hard lineouts or DP when I was down 1 in the 3rd, it's so frustrating to play in BR. I play events the most but BR grind is a must now in 24 just because it's the best mode to earn stubs.
I said hitting made people over look the flaws. It’s buy packs , spend stubs on cards or suffer because you can’t get the cards grinding. That’s just one issue, could balls, pin point, people losing their accounts. The list is on going and it’s ruined the fun
I'm glad I'm not alone. The lack of sufficient programs and the length of them has been a big issue. They come out with one, I finish it pretty fast, then I'm back to just re-doing conquests and mini-seasons because I have no more offline content to grind. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing online too, but not all the time, and as you mentioned, there have been plenty of issues there. Also around the time of the patch I noticed that the gameplay suddenly seemed different. I was hitting a lot less and batters were fighting off all my pitches. Now I don't feel as insane. Thank you. You know that the game is not in a good spot when it's been a few weeks of launch day, and top MLB The Show content creators are trying to move mountains to make content. They are doing collabs, offline grind videos, and those are reserve usually for later in the year. The Show is in a really bad spot
I enjoy mlb cuz baseball is my first love but man it’s hard to enjoy it. The foul balls are insane, the nonsense hits are even worst. I lost a game giving up late, just early hits. Not one good timing hit. I hope things get better man because if not it’s gonna be a VERY long year.
Well, overall, it's REALLY premature to read this games epitaph...it's NOT even a month out yet, and there is plenty of time to fix. change, adapt and improve. OK, it's SAD to do this on the fly, and it really shows that SDS is going for the "money shot" this year. But, there were PLENTY of "hints" that were indicating this game was going to be drastically different. There was NO beta test among the community, the emphasis for at least two weeks before release was on the storylines, NOT gameplay. A GOOD indication that the developers were having issues getting to work what they WANTED to work. I think time made concessions and demands on gameplay to be reduced in development, again the appearance is they are doing this on the fly. I think organization of structure shows this, more emphasis on spending for stubs and cards, less on earning them. SDS's policies is going to destroy the games base, I'm ALREADY fed up with buying packs. Now if THIS was intended from the start, why not PRICE the game LOWER. MY personal gripe (aside of the quality issues with graphics and animations which has become more commonplace in the past 5 years) is SPENDING money for stubs, and STILL "taxed" on 10%. This seems almost Socialist, because before buying stubs they GAVE you 10% MORE in stubs, to cancel out the tax, that STOPPED last year! Think about this ! I spend $100 on 150K stubs (and I used to get 165K-167K if you include the bonus) and I BUY their player cards, equipment etc, I STILL get taxed 10%, I just handed them $10 from my standpoint JUST for spending MY MONEY on the game! BTW I have played MLB TS since 2009 (Ryan Howard on the cover) that was the year I gave up on 2K.
i personally love this game. I think its sooooo much better than the previous ones. However, i am strictly a RTTS and Franchise player so take my opinion for what its worth.

Kenny Agree 100% and been a subscriber for over a year. I have a different take but the same conclusion; Corporations want more profit %. If they make 20% in a year, they demand their managers make 22% the next year. Those managers have concluded to do that they need more micro transactions. So I believe grind 99 is over for the short term. However, when your client base rebels, it’ll only take a year or two to change their options. How about you market the game to more people and stop with the trying to increase your profits by taxing your existing ones. Just my 2c
I was having a blast at launch but I’ve already went back to cod since rebirth island map returned. When packs cost more than cards in said packs there’s a problem. I finished TA faster than topps now/season award program. I really don’t think sds knows what they want to do and I feel like we are the guinea pigs who buy the game while they run test trying to figure it out.
SDS does not need to look search long and hard in order to find an example of a formerly top tier gaming company but is now utter trash. (blizzard, ea, bethesda etc). They all share the practices lol. -providing live service/updates are brutally bad - reducing work force, customer service, releasing buggy/unfinished product at release - expect consumers to accept patches that fix issues that shouldn't exist to begin with upon release. - exploiting consumers for early access $ and hiding all the good stuff behind paywall - getting paid by higher-ups that do not care about the consumer/game developer experience but rather how much additional salary/bonus/stock price they can acquire from the revenue generated from the game. Let's be real. If all these best items are behind a paywall or require a in-game currency (that can bought with RL $) that is basically Pay to Win. Need government/Congress/senate to stop these greedy corporations from continuing these types of practices now! Btw subbed due to your unbiased opinion of the game!

Trying to turn the Pirates around I’m 16-8 tied for first in division For me Hall of fame difficulty 3 guys hitting over .300 1 guy had a 15 game hit streak and now has gone 1 for his last 11 lol..anyways it’s keeping me interested I think because it’s hard every game is close lol..

Just Early hits out of play before it reaches third base, Good Hits way left of the foul poles, P4 Roderick Arias with 91, 97, 89 and 94 Defensive Stats showing up as gold defender and booting easy ground balls, pitches on the black and more in the strike zone being called balls???? im fliping cards in the market place and ohtani on regular packs after opening 50 packs i bought none of just fliping it but i was debating to sell ohtani at 188k when it first came out now its worth 154k but the season awards is not worth $40k but i love the game and affininty packs and tops now im still looking for eggs ..
There's no money in grinding. I stopped playing Madden because they had TOO many options to grind. If you wanted a top card you'd have to spend 8 hours a day doing challenges so if anyone is looking to grind your life away, madden is for you. Let's face it, most people who do not game for a living just ended up gambling their money in hopes they pull what they wanted or at least have enough sellable cards to get the card they wanted. I agree that MLB should at the very least provide 1 of those top tier packs in the program. It's wild to think that not only do you spend money on the game, but people will regularly drop another $50 - $100 for digital content that will either be outdated in a month or two and eventually obsolete when the new game releases. I don't think its asking too much to have a little balance but end of day unless there's a major boycott on micro transaction its very hard to ignore the greed when you have share holders to report to.
side note: I like that the umpires are not accurate makes for a more realistic game. I do agree that the PCI could use a little work. If you have a batter with probably 60ish vision more often than not your making contact, its too forgiving.
This is my 2nd year doing NMS and I just feel limited not only by the low XP cap but by the high XP path. I've had to play mini seasons and the US map to get anywhere close to half the path and I'm still working towards Babe Ruth but I need the expensive guys still
As for changes, I think if they can increase pack odds to allow earning more stubs or increase stub rewards this will allow more users to finish live collection and use extra stubs on specialty packs. Hopefully they fix the slider pitch and tweak legend and hall of fame game play soon.
Big fan of your channel. I honestly think that a big problem is the amount of money people spend when the game comes out and when those numbers get reported to the higher ups they probably came to a decision that people will spend let's make them spend to keep those numbers level all year.
Pro Yakyu Spirits 2024 from Konami comes out this summer and man it looks next gen, the way it should! Been playing the series for 15 years or so and the gameplay is second to none. I love the Show, but they dropped the ball big time. Spirits is going to be the best PS5 baseball game soon.
Storyline cards make no sense. Why make them 85s and use a captain , and they are still not playable. I hadn't seen not one storyline player from the negro leagues yet.

Those cards/stickers very well may get copyright claimed or a cease & desist if as both the players and MLB/MLB the Show might not like that, just looking out for whoever is making them. If they were CAPs you might be able to get away with it but I'm no lawyer
I love, absolutely love football. I played Madden for 2 decades. I stopped playing because of the way they run it and have been past few years. I also love baseball, I really hope this game doesn't become madden...thus I stop playing

150 million percent. Seasons needs to be deleted next year, you can’t fix it. It just doesn’t work. Spend 40k if ur lucky earn a 55k card for it to get usurped by a free card in a week. What a concept $D$! Absolute brainiacs over there, it’s clear they’ve lost some people and/or the suits sold us out but ya I don’t think they can fix 24. It’s just got too many systemic issues. Stubs are hard to come by for many reasons… because they made the entire xp path unsellable. In 22 the whole xp path was sellable and you could make hundreds of thousands of stubs every new drop.

You can't even make stubs trying to flip the market. As glad as I am that we no longer have to face CAPs in DD, it affected the market on equipment drastically. In previous years I made a killing flipping gold equipment. Now this year all I've found reliable is silver live series players at around 50-60 stubs a card (and that has even stopped working the last 48 hours as the gaps have all drastically closed).
Theres no way folks are spending 40k on packs when they're trying to finish collections with the amount of net loss pulling a base round.

The games where I can be leading by 4-5 runs then everything my opponent start launching home runs and hits in the gap forcing the game to be tied. I would still be playing MLB the Show 20, if they hadn’t nuked the servers. Thankful for Gamepass.
The whole thing is a dumpster fire. The gatekeep and xp slog is a problem. The seasons/sets is a thing that just doesn’t work in ultimate team modes, but nice try $D$ but you failed. There’s no real way to make stubs in this game beyond being lucky in packs or flipping the market or being extremely good, those are ur 3 ways. Most people can’t do any of those. You used to be able to make huge stubs from xp programs as they had sellable rewards, not anymore! The pack content is gatekept but another thing is it’s not even interesting. It’s not enticing to open packs. There’s no real upside, open a 40k pack to make maybe 15-20k stubs that’s nothing…. If you go into a madden or fifa game the packs will at least have real upside to them. Then because of seasons you lose value on ur pack cards as new free cards come into the game and destroy your tradeable cards value. Not to mention in June you’re gonna have a complete reset and are people really gonna want to play with 89s again after using 99s? I doubt it. Are people gonna grind this long xp slog again? I doubt it. Seaons/sets needs to be deleted for good in MLB 25 and they need to get back to delivering good program content or this niche franchise is toast.
We’re 2 years removed from all things in the xp programs being sellable. Last year they introduced unsellable xp path rewards and now our entire xp path is nerfed into the ground with all unsellable items. We need inning/xp programs again with real tradeable rewards. I remember making a killing grinding those xp programs when they dropped in mlb 20-22. Now there’s no real incentive to grind as they’ve introduced the xp cap along with a huge xp nerf, it’s a complete slog. I saw a guy score 23 runs in br and got 2300 xp, that’s criminal behavior from $D$. 2300 xp lmaooooo, I would get close to 2300 xp from a good mini seasons game in previous iterations, now it’s 500-1000 xp.
Man i found it so insulting that they will live stream after bad patch or a bad early release and act like nothing is wrong. After the funko pop patch they live streamed the easter stuff and just acted like one of the funnies and goofiest things didn’t just happen
Ignore all game modes in MLB The Show 24 except Franchise mode and Homerun Derby. Dont care about cards or packs. Thats all the stuff thats unnecessary. Focus on franchise and they will start to get it.

Making stubs is very difficult flipping cards
my problem is they keep going into the pay for packs route but only keep adding the minimal amount of legends every year. At this point there is no excuse why they shouldn't have almost everyone that has played in MLB. This would allow them to keep doing packs and other paid content while giving players other ways to grind for other cards. But since the roster is limited we feel stuck with lesser players why the guys we want are behind said packs.

Commenting while watching, when you hit 18 min in you really started giving a lot of undue benefit of the doubt to the world of p2w model/company decisions.
The region locked cards that they gave out, then pulled down when the codes leaked online, those were bullshit. They should hand those out to everyone for free. Been grinding the team affinity mini seasons for packs, having to play 14 games to get 28 packs is tedious and I’m fairly certain I’ve only gotten 1 Diamond card out of them, and it was a bat.
I was a RTTS player only and tried online this year I switched back and am doing that and Mini Seasons.
Concerning the Pipeline packs (and other packs they launched outside of a program), I think it shows how "necessary" it is for them to bring back sets in collection. If at least those packs came with a collection set with rewards, it would maybe entice me into buying some. Since last year, they really went the opposite way with what collecting cards is all about. Did I use them all? Not at all. Would it give us multiple cards of one player? Of course. Yet, it made card hunting fun and I could focus on the rewards I wanted. Right now, I don't feel like collecting 400 cards of one set just for one card that will not bring me anything. You mentionned stubs. Maybe completing a set like Veteran cards for example, could reward you with stubs instead of card #6 of any player.
I really miss the days when you had multiple collections (like Allstar, Rookie, Awards, etc.) instead of just one giant collection set. Ideally, they should (IMO) bring back the multiple sets giving multiple rewards for completion AND keep one big collection set per season for big rewards.

They are trying to slow roll the hell out of content to be in line with power creep and then trying to throw packs in store to make it look like they are doing something. They think their window for content is much wider than it is. Haven’t played much in a couple days because frankly it’s way too boring. Can’t recall ever turning the game off out of boredom this many times ever.
I'm offline DD only and finding that there's really not much for me to do. I know playing offline is my choice and there would be more for me to work towards if I played online but I'm just not really interested in playing much online. Lack of offline DD content wasn't an issue at all for me in '22 and '23 (I started with '22).
I can agree that there was too much content for most people to get through with all of the programs plus online plus how much content Team Affinity alone had but this seems like a big overcorrection. Now I don't have much if anything to do within DD so I've gone back to '23 (which had its own issues) or I'm playing other games altogether. I stuck with '22 and '23 for months and months only to lose most of my interest in '24 within a couple of weeks.
The season path is also a slog to get through so far. It feels awful to me. Maybe it goes much faster if you play online (I don't know because I play offline lol) but it feels horrifically slow compared to past Shows. Not only is the XP gain slow for me there's also a daily XP cap that is lower than previous games. I only hit the cap one time early on after release but if you only have a day or two to play and you're trying to catch up then you might hit a wall sooner than you would like. They haven't been giving out good amounts of XP in the offline programs either, so it's just been a slow crawl. I've fallen behind because I've stopped playing as much and at this point it's like, forget it. I'm probably not going to be able to catch up without huge chunks of XP given out in upcoming programs.

Thank you for talking the truth. But I gave up with DD right after the Egg Hunt. Not offline friendly. Franchise all the way now. And I will not go back to DD this year. And most likely will not make the purchase next year. Only if they make a completely new game that is not money hungry. And Franchise and RTTS get the major upgrade that is well overdue.

So I asked you last season if you thought Bungie's financial issues would cause Sony to end up messing with the monetization of MLB the show 24... Pretty sure you said you didn't know much about the Bungie situation... either way, I can definitely feel the monetization this season.. These 30,000 packs with cards you can't earn any other way? The whole Vlad Jr. collection of cards you can't earn in game.. I thought it might be bad I never thought it would be this awful.. I think it's completely Sony trying to make up for Bungie but just my opinion.. Love the content as always

I don't know if it's a me thing but I feel that gameplay gets even worse in co-op. Check swings don't work half the time and I still get meter glitches every know and then. Also yesterday got 3 good time with good pci pop ups while the other team got multiple late and just late homeruns. Legitimately just wanted to uninstall.

At no point in the past 3 years could I say I was playing franchise mode this early in the year. There is little content that has dropped that has any sort of grind since day 1. I should never be able to get on the game with nothing to grind. Not a good sign
First The Show I haven't bought since 2018. I'm not paying for a live service game I bought last yr.
Why grind for crappy cards when I can just use all the bad ass 99s and play last yrs game?
After all the game is the same, no significant changes tp the game itaelf.

There turning this into EA more every year. We offline cats have known this for yrs but it was all good for you DD dudes..... till it wasnt. We all have to pool together, regardless of mode you play and let them know right from the rip that we will not stay if this is the road they want to go down. Another reason gameplay sucks is there maxed out because they won't drop last gen. This game will never progress I'd they don't drop last gen.
Yeah man i never got mlb the show 23 so ive been playing 22 for the past two years before this one. I gotta say the hitting in diamond dynasty is fin weird and rugged as hell. 22 was smooth as hell. The hitting is definitely worse and the overall quality of this game is if anything worse. It pisses me off to no end when the game doesnt work how its supposed to and ive been getting that a lot since 24 came out

BR is never being nice to me.
Matching to WS or flawless player back to back early in the run, pinpoint is useless when runner's on base, always gets hard lineouts or DP when I was down 1 in the 3rd, it's so frustrating to play in BR.
I play events the most but BR grind is a must now in 24 just because it's the best mode to earn stubs.
I said hitting made people over look the flaws. It’s buy packs , spend stubs on cards or suffer because you can’t get the cards grinding. That’s just one issue, could balls, pin point, people losing their accounts. The list is on going and it’s ruined the fun
I'm glad I'm not alone. The lack of sufficient programs and the length of them has been a big issue. They come out with one, I finish it pretty fast, then I'm back to just re-doing conquests and mini-seasons because I have no more offline content to grind. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing online too, but not all the time, and as you mentioned, there have been plenty of issues there. Also around the time of the patch I noticed that the gameplay suddenly seemed different. I was hitting a lot less and batters were fighting off all my pitches. Now I don't feel as insane. Thank you.

You know that the game is not in a good spot when it's been a few weeks of launch day, and top MLB The Show content creators are trying to move mountains to make content. They are doing collabs, offline grind videos, and those are reserve usually for later in the year. The Show is in a really bad spot
I enjoy mlb cuz baseball is my first love but man it’s hard to enjoy it. The foul balls are insane, the nonsense hits are even worst. I lost a game giving up late, just early hits. Not one good timing hit. I hope things get better man because if not it’s gonna be a VERY long year.

Well, overall, it's REALLY premature to read this games epitaph...it's NOT even a month out yet, and there is plenty of time to fix. change, adapt and improve. OK, it's SAD to do this on the fly, and it really shows that SDS is going for the "money shot" this year. But, there were PLENTY of "hints" that were indicating this game was going to be drastically different. There was NO beta test among the community, the emphasis for at least two weeks before release was on the storylines, NOT gameplay. A GOOD indication that the developers were having issues getting to work what they WANTED to work. I think time made concessions and demands on gameplay to be reduced in development, again the appearance is they are doing this on the fly. I think organization of structure shows this, more emphasis on spending for stubs and cards, less on earning them. SDS's policies is going to destroy the games base, I'm ALREADY fed up with buying packs. Now if THIS was intended from the start, why not PRICE the game LOWER. MY personal gripe (aside of the quality issues with graphics and animations which has become more commonplace in the past 5 years) is SPENDING money for stubs, and STILL "taxed" on 10%. This seems almost Socialist, because before buying stubs they GAVE you 10% MORE in stubs, to cancel out the tax, that STOPPED last year! Think about this ! I spend $100 on 150K stubs (and I used to get 165K-167K if you include the bonus) and I BUY their player cards, equipment etc, I STILL get taxed 10%, I just handed them $10 from my standpoint JUST for spending MY MONEY on the game! BTW I have played MLB TS since 2009 (Ryan Howard on the cover) that was the year I gave up on 2K.

Corporations want more profit %. If they make 20% in a year, they demand their managers make 22% the next year. Those managers have concluded to do that they need more micro transactions. So I believe grind 99 is over for the short term. However, when your client base rebels, it’ll only take a year or two to change their options. How about you market the game to more people and stop with the trying to increase your profits by taxing your existing ones. Just my 2c

I was having a blast at launch but I’ve already went back to cod since rebirth island map returned. When packs cost more than cards in said packs there’s a problem. I finished TA faster than topps now/season award program. I really don’t think sds knows what they want to do and I feel like we are the guinea pigs who buy the game while they run test trying to figure it out.
SDS does not need to look search long and hard in order to find an example of a formerly top tier gaming company but is now utter trash. (blizzard, ea, bethesda etc). They all share the practices lol.

- reducing work force, customer service, releasing buggy/unfinished product at release
- expect consumers to accept patches that fix issues that shouldn't exist to begin with upon release.
- exploiting consumers for early access $ and hiding all the good stuff behind paywall
- getting paid by higher-ups that do not care about the consumer/game developer experience but rather how much additional salary/bonus/stock price they can acquire from the revenue generated from the game.
Let's be real. If all these best items are behind a paywall or require a in-game currency (that can bought with RL $) that is basically Pay to Win.
Need government/Congress/senate to stop these greedy corporations from continuing these types of practices now!

im fliping cards in the market place and ohtani on regular packs after opening 50 packs i bought none of just fliping it but i was debating to sell ohtani at 188k when it first came out now its worth 154k but the season awards is not worth $40k but i love the game and affininty packs and tops now im still looking for eggs ..
There's no money in grinding. I stopped playing Madden because they had TOO many options to grind. If you wanted a top card you'd have to spend 8 hours a day doing challenges so if anyone is looking to grind your life away, madden is for you. Let's face it, most people who do not game for a living just ended up gambling their money in hopes they pull what they wanted or at least have enough sellable cards to get the card they wanted. I agree that MLB should at the very least provide 1 of those top tier packs in the program. It's wild to think that not only do you spend money on the game, but people will regularly drop another $50 - $100 for digital content that will either be outdated in a month or two and eventually obsolete when the new game releases. I don't think its asking too much to have a little balance but end of day unless there's a major boycott on micro transaction its very hard to ignore the greed when you have share holders to report to.
side note: I like that the umpires are not accurate makes for a more realistic game. I do agree that the PCI could use a little work. If you have a batter with probably 60ish vision more often than not your making contact, its too forgiving.
This is my 2nd year doing NMS and I just feel limited not only by the low XP cap but by the high XP path. I've had to play mini seasons and the US map to get anywhere close to half the path and I'm still working towards Babe Ruth but I need the expensive guys still

As for changes, I think if they can increase pack odds to allow earning more stubs or increase stub rewards this will allow more users to finish live collection and use extra stubs on specialty packs. Hopefully they fix the slider pitch and tweak legend and hall of fame game play soon.
Big fan of your channel. I honestly think that a big problem is the amount of money people spend when the game comes out and when those numbers get reported to the higher ups they probably came to a decision that people will spend let's make them spend to keep those numbers level all year.

Been playing the series for 15 years or so and the gameplay is second to none. I love the Show, but they dropped the ball big time. Spirits is going to be the best PS5 baseball game soon.
Storyline cards make no sense. Why make them 85s and use a captain , and they are still not playable. I hadn't seen not one storyline player from the negro leagues yet.

I love, absolutely love football. I played Madden for 2 decades. I stopped playing because of the way they run it and have been past few years. I also love baseball, I really hope this game doesn't become madden...thus I stop playing
