- Before saying anything I have to start the video by giving the appropriate credit to the champion Charles Oliveira, he is the champ regardless of that small weight controversy, he is indeed a well deserving champion who overcame adversity in every way possible, a rocky early career, health issues, being called a quitter after allegedly mentally quitting mid fights, Charles grew a lot after those losses and now he proved himself through overcoming adversity and regaining control and eventually claiming victory in fights where he was compromised and almost lost the fight.
Charles Oliveira is a worthy champion but he can't be considered the GOAT until he fights legit deserving contenders, he does deserve money fights and a good pay day but hearing him talking about being the light weight GOAT a couple of weaks ago makes me wonder if he thinks that money fights are what will make him that, he does have a great chance in surpassing Khabib Nurmagomedov if he keeps doing what he is doing but he needs to focus on legacy fights and beating the next guys in line, which are Islam makhachev and Beneil Dariush.
Islam Makhachev is ranked Number 4 while Dariush is ranked number 6, the two contenders were schedueled to fight but Dariush got injured and islam had to fight Bobby Green instead, there is no clear contender other than Islam makhachev, Oliveira vacated the lightweight strap is now ranked number 1 followed by Dustin Poirier and justin Gaethje both of them have already got their title shot and lost to Charles OLiveria which makes Islam Makhachev the next worthy title contender.

islam makhachev loss, and only loss came via KO years ago, islam makhachev highlights show that islam has improved a lots since that loss, and islam makhachev vs charles oliveira prmises to be a great fight since both of these fighters have gotten so much better in these last couple of fights, and it appears that the UFC is looking to book charles oliveira vs islam makhachev as the next title fight in the lightweight division, islam's last fight was on short notice and was on the event bobby green vs islam makhachev

I think Charles will end up better but yeah as dominant as khabib was, he was the best
I mean considering charles has almost triple the wins inside the ufc and one more fight and he has already tied khabibs title defenses, yes as far as resume khabibs is the best "lightweight" right now even tho bj penn had way more defenses, you cant look past khabibs perfect record regardless if the first half of his career he fought nothing but cans, gotta atleast give him his due.
Mayzes name one fighter that khabib fought that has the skill set of a ju-jitsu specialist like Charles
People always bring up Charles losses but that was not in lightweight, Khabib didn't have the balls to fight in another weight despite his walk around weight being close to middleweight.
Furthermore Charles was fighting in the UFC wayyyy before khabib and was fighting legends like Holloway, Pettis, Edgar etc whilst khabib was fighting 100% Russians with negative records.
Charles has 30 finishes and Khabib has 29 fights, let that sink in.
Charles also finished Justin and Dustin faster than khabib and more entertaining.

Great video and amazing edit. You see these salty Khabib haters always saying that Khabib cherry-picked his opponents. Well, someone who's fighting #1 contender, after #1 contender can't be doing that. If Khabib wanted to cherry-pick he would've accepted the Conor rematch which would've been way more profitable and an easy win, as Conor clearly has nothing for Khabib.
Exactly, as for before being champ he was having a hard time getting opponents ranked higher than him, the same thing that islam is going through right now, people see them as hard matchups with barely anything to gain so they avoid them, they can't blame them for that!

I don’t get it. 10 fight win streak versus 11 fight win streak, both known for having superior ground game in an mma fight, Charles has the record for the most submission victories, Islam has the record for the least hit fighter in ufc history and when put up as a possible fight between them Islam became a huge favor in the Vegas odds (I think it was a -300 something) even tho Do Bronx defeated 4 high level killers in a row, everyone wants to see this fight, everyone wants to know who’s the best in the light weight division and still both Charles and his fans wants Islam to fight Dariush instead?? To me that’s sounds like slick moves to avoid a fight otherwise let’s see who’s the best rather than talk about our feelings on who’s more better.

Olivera have lot of talent he have very good striking, very good grappling, he is the real champion.
He doesn't have heart of a warrior or champion , he lost his belt to the scale and the ufc gave him half an hour to get his belt back , but he didn't fight for his belt nor he care ...

Ive seen him train with yuri simoes a 3x ADCC world champ and 4 time IBJJF champ, yuri competed against the goat of no gi, gordon ryan at one point and had a close match... so if islam submitted yuri which i dont believe so, maybe he submitted another adcc champ, but if he did then charles has to go for the ko early otherwise he would get ran thru
