One cannot really ASSUME that a malayali wife addresses her husband "ചേട്ടാ" .. Nowadays, a large number of them address their husbands by their first names (the theme being informal)..
Somehow, for the day and age, I feel it repressive and regressive to expect a woman once she marries, to HAVE to address her husband ചേട്ടാ.. it feels like a FORCED REVERENCE.
