- In this video I use spray paint on top of my wet fluid painting to create a different react. Sometimes cells, sometimes webbing, sometimes dots. It all depends on the brand and color that is underneath. Fluid art is science!
Products used:
20" x 16" Arteza canvas
Amsterdam acrylic spray paint
DecoArt satin enamels in black (paint around)
DecoArt satin enamels & Artist Loft flow acrylic in black (in cup)
DecoArt neon lights in radiant yellow (in cup)
DecoArt americana in bubblegum pink (in cup)
DecoArt Extreme shene in sky blue topaz & aquamarine (paint around)
Liquitex pouring medium in all colors
Water
Hope your eyeballs enjoy!

that's a wowww! that will be a quick seller, so unique. I like the large canvas and seems like even larger would be in demand. You have skills! so fun to watch and listen while you create. Thank you for sharing.
I thought I watched all your videos, but I missed this one. I love it. So pretty and unique. It's gorgeous. My favorite one of your paintings
👋 MelyD. When I only have a little paint left 🙁 will now try the spray paint 🤫 it’s our secret don’t tell husband or I will definitely get kicked out of garage. Lovely piece. 🙏
Spell bound watching this. I love how you are so willing to go outside of the box, thank you I love the colors. It really reminds me of a flyover of a city at night.

Your Best painting ever . This is stunning !!!!!!!
It's like look through a hole down to a beautiful beach
To me this is one of the most fabulous pieces you have done. I see tidal pools and waves crashing against black volcanic cliffs. Congratulations!
aww thank you so much!!
Another superb overall look from a combination of different factors and effect. Thanks for closeup of Amsterdam spray can, pleased to know it is a water based acrylic which fits with behaviour better than an oil based paint.
Magnifique ce résultat ! Je crois qu'il faut oser et c'est les succès et erreurs qui nous apprennent. Vous avez super bien réussi ici !!!J'aimerais bien l'essayer !!! Je suis même ébahie !!! Merci de votre partage !

Whoa👁👁! Effects are amazing. Like a portal in space looking at a tropical island. Thought it was cool before the spray paint.... and then 💥 you took it to the next level!!!❤️
Beautiful... It is so cool to watch how the paint is reacting. I love watching your videos.....you just play with the color and it turned out amazing! 🙋♀️🇨🇭
I’m loving it
Great piece. You’re right in that fluid Art is a science! So enjoy your videos.
This is cool effect with spray paint need to try it
Oh my goodness!! You are so brilliant! When your video began, I thought you might spray it in the cup as a layer separator or something. Literally spraying it on the wet paint blew my mind! I’ve been toying around with the enamel paint that comes in those little glass bottles but haven’t landed on anything cohesive. I’m going to play with the spraying instead! ❤️
Melissa....please....my eyeballs seriously can’t take much more 👀💕 love it!
Thanks Gary 🖤
That is so worth watching and experimenting!! Holy cow I am so excited to play with the spray paint now!!!
Yay! Job accomplished 😘
Very neat! Interesting
You are brave - it’s awesome!! I just bought some liquitex spray paint and yours is The first video where I see this technique. I really love pink, but it gets lost when I use it - I’ll figure it out...As you say this is a science! Thank you for posting:)
Oh wow! It looks amazing! And thank you so much for all the descriptions and analysis... love learning from you! 🤗

I loved it thanks❤️
J’adore le résultat!
Unbelievable ❣️
Wow different but looks really neat
What an innovative technique!
I was wondering if Amsterdam spray paint was the only one to give this effect? Most of the art supply stores in my area are closed for now. Amazon carries Liquitex spray acrylic. Have you tried it or other brands?
Amazing. 🥰
Pretty cool!!! 💖
Looks like looking down on a deep gorge in the oceon, as if it has just been parted. On the sides the water is still dripping down, what wonders lurke beneath
love it
Crazy IN LOVE !!! ❤
Wild!
Lake formed in a dead volcano. Cool
Hi Mely, I am unable to buy the Amsterdam spray paint in the US. Can you let me know what ingredients I should look for in another brand? Sorry to bother you so much. That is what happens because you are exceptional!
kinda crazy, right❓
ahhh, right ❗️
😊❤😮
Cool 😎 you are awesome! Out of curiosity would you recommend torching or patience?
Thanks ! I'm not sure what you mean.. I don't torch normally.
Hello. I am Florin from Romania and I would like some advice. Using your method with pouring and acrylic spray, I had to give up painting more than once because the spray coagulated like a thin, wrinkled layer of paint under the spray. The crusts formed in this way slid into the mass on the canvas when tilted and compromised the painting. I used several types of spray but it doesn't seem to be due to him, his brand. Did it happen to you too? Do you have any idea what could be the cause?
Great perspective and composition piece. I do like looking at it very much. Any thoughts or concerns about varnishing?
Thank you! And nope no stress about varnishing. I'll spray varnish like usual :)
Cool. Time to play...
Fluid Art Chemistry Phd graduate ! (Student?) Love this painting and your new technique:)
Sick! Thank
Thank you!
Cool effects! What does it look like in the dark?
I didnt check 🤔 I wonder if it will show with the spray paint on top of it
Hi there Can you please tell me where I could find the Amsterdam spray paint (aerosol) in Montreal or in Canada? Your tutorials and your paintings are truely amazing! Thanks for your answer! Dany from Laval Quebec.
Hey Dany, take a look at DeSerre or Michaels :)
I won't ask why. Pretty crazy.
Love it - gorgeous. Stay safe :)
did the spray paint create the cells or did you put something in the paints to create them?
my question also, looks like silicone presence???
Bello... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
you are on to something, keep going.
Such a wonderful painting, never seen before!
Stay healthy!
Hello there this is Janet from Colorado I do enjoy watching you and your experiments ! I have had a little dilemma lately and wanted to get your views on it if I could. The art league that I am in has questioned me about my fluid art /
p o u r painting being Fine Art. I of course feel that it is and yours certainly is beautiful and I consider it fine art. They are thinking they may not let me in their yearly art show. They said it is up for discussion. I was wondering if you have an opinion on this subject? Maybe you would have some beautiful words that I could send their way to prove that fluid art is and can be fine art. Thank you for any help you have on that subject. One of your many fans Janet
I believe this is an ongoing question. It has been since I started and got somewhere with it. Somewhere meaning when I started having control over my results. Some people will say it is and others not. It's a question of perspective. Personally I believe it's a question of composition, and materials do have a little play. I think that if you are using glue, it's easier to say your art is more of a craft and lower quality. If you're using really pouring medium than it adds to the quality making it easier to call it fine art. If it looks muddy, the colors don't contrast and the overall look of it looks like you dumped paint and tipped the canvas. Than it's easier to call it a craft rather than a well composed finished result which could easier be called fine art. That's all in my head though. My opinion and how I see it.
The real issue I believe is that nobody knows how hard fluid art is until they try it. Which is often the case of those who say it's not fine art. Because it does somewhat seem like child's play sometimes. But it's not. It's a mix of math, science and intuition. Practice.
Not sure if that helps but it's my vision. Its abstract. We all see it differently.
👋 Janet . How does the Fine Art association define work the like of Jackson Pollock , Gerard Richter, Rita Agnes, completely different styles and using different techniques. I suppose using paint, paint extended compounds of a art quality not craft quality may be the difference ? Be interested in what you think and found out.
@@karenmanson1782 hi Karen thanks for your interest. It was really strange that last year 2019 annual art show that I won the judges choice Award with my fluid art and the piece even sold at the art show and I was commissioned by the buyer to do a companion piece. I guess since it was my first year in the show and others had been there for 20 years or so they decided they did not like the competition or the fact that I was new but this year they are talking about not letting me enter fluid art. They are calling it acrylic pour and they said that is a craft. Very disappointing for sure. Anyway I appreciate the concern and thanks for any input. Stay well Janet
It looks like an opening in space or something!
eye candy!!!!
